  1. Ah Cheers. There is a fair bit different then. The asz uses vac to close the flap.
  2. The anti shudder and egr are the same part are they not? I have an asz engine which doesnt have the cooler so its simpler but thought everything was the same bar the cooler and the position on the mani?
  3. Personally id keep it and just blank the egr bit at the valve end rather than the mani for heat reasons. I personally don't like the horrid judder and sound when the anti shudder valve doesnt work. (I had my asv piston rod break)
  4. Get the thickest. I had a jabba one on and I couldnt feel much difference at all. Soon as i put a 22mm rarb on my octavia vRS tho it was very apparent
  5. The mg is not an option really cheers. Can get more power from a 1.8t with hybrid and some work and use it daily with good eco. Plus mg fall apart. Sounds epic tho. Love the e46 m3 but only in coupe form and if pushed they shred the rear subframe mount points and the boot falls out lol. Plus you gotta rev them for the power and drive them where I dont drive hard and I like the low down grunt of the V8. Thats why I like my fabia vRS
  6. Thought about them mate but the std one doesnt look as nice and the vxr are all too expensive. Plus they are 2 door and I want something I can transport 4 adults in comfort and ease.
  7. that's why I went for the M5 I got first, would of been worth a bit once I got it sorted, but tbh my name isn't Lloyd lol, I like to drive my cars (nothing against you mate, you have the mintest mk1 Octy about) so Miles don't bother me, I buy a car for me not the next owner. I want something as a special drive for us to go places. Just get in the car and take a drive and see where we end up. Last drive we went on I did circa 300 mile just pootling about in the hills of wales lol. saw some lovely places. the trouble with the E39 M5 is that everyone seems to be getting on the wagon and thinking that their car is worth more than it is and thinking its mint when its not. There is one up for 13k, youd think its a minter BUT, lol it wont ever sell as its a rust bucket and imo worth 7k max just because of miles its done, that's if its good mechanically sound. Ill find one some time. What other good sporty v8 powered cars are there out there?
  8. I am starting to swing toward the s4 now as they are more modern and they wife likes them. She thinks the m5 is old lol. I have 7 this time. Its only a toy and tbh I shouldnt really get one nor do I really need one but after the first M5 I just fancy one. First one cost 7800 and really wasnt worth it despite me being 3rd owner and very low miles with fbmwsh it cost me a fortune in parts and there were still lots of outstanding issues to do for it to be worth it hence this time I am more careful. I do think they are well overpriced and yes a good one as in mint low miles with everything done and replaced as preventative not when needed then yes they are worth circa 10k+ but pretty much all the ones on ebay and at are not worth what they are fs for hence why they been fs for ages. The anthracite one is lovely and tbh if the body was sorted spot on and the oem seats were in it 9k would be good if there was nothing else wrong and the suspension parts were all new ish and not showing signs of sloppy nest. The wife might solve the dilema tho and tell me she is pregnant, that will sort it for sure.
  9. Dont bother. Jom are cheap for a reason mate Dont waste your money unless all you want is a bouncy crashy harsh riding floor scraper. Mine didnt stay on the car long as they were uncomfortable. The nice stance didnt make up for it
  10. Haha been eyin that one. Its ok but not 9.5k worth. Needs som rust bubble sorting and the front seats are not original, its on coilovers and its got a x pipe meaning loss of power and drone. Brakes are good tho.
  11. Wow Cheers jase, The s4 isnt a good looking car in comparison to the m5 thats for sure. They are 4wd so good security on the road. After bottling it in my last M5 showing i have no skilz at all when it comes to rwd i kind of like the idea of 4wd. But there is the power and the m5 was such a beast and very sure footed. Just i hit lots of diesel on a soaking wet road even going slow the car went on me and once they go they feel huge. Not driven the s4 but may need to try one or 2 and see. I mainly want something a good size thats fun and got a V8. The noise of the M5 with a muffler delete or sport back boxes is epic not heard the s4. There also is the thing that the M5 is THE best e39 where the S4 isnt, but I cant afford a RS4
  12. Hi guys whats the thoughts? I really want another e39 m5 but I am also swinging toward the S4 4.2 V8. I would rather the shape like the rs4 4.2 not the one previouse with the split front grill but would go for one if the condition is perfect and that. Input needed please
  13. Isnt that bad on a fwd car? And only good for drifting rwd? Glws Cheers w8 sounds like its something more for track so not much use to me :-(
  14. Gonna say something not right. My vRS is soft and thats on std suspension.
  15. I got my old vag com 401 iirc licence changed over to the vcds lite as it was free seen as id payed before and for what i need it for it seems to work ok. Are the readings right tho? Or will i have a problem?
  16. Thanks ill swap it. Never had it off totally before but last owner might of
  17. Cheers, Yea I thought they would be the same as the OEM stuff but the angles are all wrong, the ends are solid and really tight fitting which is good but I am sure Ive seen them available on ebay for less than £20 each, then just get some pipes and trim them to how you want. I should of known really as the FMIC I had for my Octavia vRS was a forge and that needed no end of trimming. Not really impressed with them to say its all at a premium If you have the money, what the hell go for it but don't expect them to just go on like OEM
  18. Well cheers for the links and info. After doing my cam belt I had a huge drop in mpg and the car ran like poo. I adjusted it using vcds from this: to -1.0 which wasn't right still but a lot better. That was just using the tool as the first time I did it the tool didn't fit right into the crank sprocket as I was trying to fit it on from the top when I should of been sliding it in. DOH I have been running the car like that as I have not had time to tweek it until yesterday. Now after reading and playing I have got it to: Is the Idle injection time something that needs attention? Ive tried playing but this is the smoothest start I can get. Seems ok, Ill find out if its sorted the MPG out this next few days going to and from work. Then Ill be fitting a heap of stuff to get it back to fighting fit again as its been a bit neglected over the last year with only oil and filter changes done every 6-8k. New engine mounts and complete new shocks and springs inc fittings to go on too before MOT.
  19. Hi guys, probably no use to this section but IF it is, youo might want to check your intake pipe from MAF to TIP. I found this in my pipe while doing some maintenance on my bus. It is catching on the heater pipes. Thought Ide share that.
  20. just to update this IF anyone is thinking of getting them. DONT BOTHER for the money they are not worth it imo. They are not the correct angles and are a PITFA to fit. They are tight fitting but if anyone knows where to get the ends from then just buy cheap pipe and trim how you like. The EGR to plastic 90deg bend is not 90deg from Forge. same goes for the one off the turbo its a big out. the one that goes from the metal pipe to the IC is also not quite the right angle and is too big but you cant trim it enough to allow fitting of the mikalor clamps. all in all not worth the £205 I got them for but now they are on they seem ok even if they are slightly bent more than the pipes are sposed to be, not kinked but under more pressure than the OEM pipes which fit like a glove.
  21. Iirc the comp brake 6 pots 330mm fit behind spiders. I had lcr 4pot brembos 323mm and they were awesome! Get hold of some lcr 18" rims or some s3 avus alloys and they will clear. S3 rims will look better imo
  22. Yea ide hope so too mate but the fmic i fitted to my octavia vrs was not. Ill find out over the new year.
  23. Lol yea i thought the ends were built in to the pipes but they not. You could just buy the ends and sort pipe youself. Do you know it these are a direct fit or will they need trimming like the fmic pipes?
