Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
just wanted to add some further info to this. the car went back again. showed the noise to the mechanic. He lubricated the lower control arm rubbers and a few other rubber parts under the car and the noise went away.........for about 4 hours. then it went away a few days later when it was banging it down with rain. So I'm guessing I have a dry bush or 2. good job its constantly raining

Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
Mines going back in Thursday. I can reliably replicate it now. Which I couldn’t before. So hopefully it’ll get sorted. I had 4 people in my car on Saturday but never heard the noise. Like I say. Seems to be in these scenarios: Braking while going over bumps, especially going downhill Pulling out of a junction if it’s on a hill and turning, left or right. Lightly braking and going over rough ground or if it makes the car bounce up and down. The sound to me sounds like the bump stops hitting. Like the springs are doing nothing or the shocks are kaput. However I can go over bumps and not be braking and hear nothing. Very odd The garage I got it from are really good to be fair. They get me in and don’t fob me off. Give me a loan car and try to get it sorted as soon as they can. Can’t fault them for that.

Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
I can force mine to do it now. If I go over a speed bump while braking it makes the noise. If I’m not then it doesn’t ? It has done it on uneven roads too. Usually when Turing and possible with a little brake on.

Have they not replaced the shocks? Surly an aftermarket set won’t have the same Issue?

Can I just check the noise you guys are hearing is the same as mine. Can be slow speed and turning or steady speed on rough road, a sort of clacking noise? Mines front left and seems to be when turning or just after turning. The garage I bought the car from thought it was the gearbox and subsequently paid a lot of money to have it rebuilt (DQ200 dsg7) Took them 2 weeks and today I’ve done a good 60 miles with no noise. Then nipped out earlier and definitely still heard it. Albeit not as bad. But it’s still there. I feel bad taking it back again and insisting it’s the suspension. As they checked it and usually can’t replicate the noise.

1.6 tdi dsg clicking noise
hi. So my new to me 2018 Karoq went back to the dealer the other day for a sporadic noise I was hearing on the front left side. Garage have been brilliant and the onsite mechanic had it up on the lift and found swarf in the gearbox oil. He reckons it’s the differential. There was a fair bit of play on the driveshaft (gearbox end) it’s going off next week for a gearbox rebuild. Been told it’s still ok to drive until next week (is it?). The car seems to drive perfect aside from this noise now and again. It’s sort of like a clicking noise and can be heard more turning right, it’s very sporadic and can’t always be heard. I think the garage said the gearbox place have quoted about £1500 including £450 to remove and re fit the gearbox. I suppose my question is, is this unheard of? Searched around and seen a couple of times it’s been posted. And does the cost sound about right? Obviously no cost to me as it’s still in warranty from the seller. Cheers.

Error code B201000 17 instrument cluster
Yes. I bought it about 2 weeks ago and it had a service. I did actually read this myself too. I wonder if it’s possible to fix

Error code B201000 17 instrument cluster
Can anyone help me with this. Did a scan on my topdon and got this code back. All I can find is about a night vision camera? My car is a 2018 1.6tdi sel trim. No error on the dash or anything.

Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
Just follow up to my own post. Found my version. Is MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0472T I think from looking at mib helper I can update to P0480T Is this relatively safe to do? Seen a few posts that say a fault code sits on the system for the infotainment and might need vcds or similar to fix?

Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
Is there any way to tell from my pics if my 2018 karoq head unit has an update? I managed to update maps on the sd card but wondered if the firmware has an update? Cheers.

Android Auto wireless
I got a dongle off Amazon. Works perfectly if just a slight delay after skipping track before the next song flips on.

Radio coding
I don’t think that’s a thing anymore. If anything it’ll be coded to the ecu and just work. Issues might come in if someone was to replace it later for one from another car. Then it might need coding in.

new to me Karoq 1.6tdi dsg
I’ve always put regular diesel in and some additive now and again. It’s probably in my head, but in my last car. It always sounded like the engine ran quieter on a tank with additives in and the mpg on the dash always tended to be a tad higher. With the ad blue stuff. I’ve seen that it breaks up any crystallisation. I can see the argument with diesel additives being “snake oil” as what feasibly can a 200ml bottle do in 60 litres of diesel. But I think it’s highly reasonable to think that an additive in ad blue can change the chemical state of the fluid to be more stable. However I’ve also seen some reviews saying it’s caused issues. I’ll take the advice on here and leave it be. I see no point fixing something that’s not broken.

Yeah. It literally is to make me feel better. I’ve seen it tested and it does stop crystallisation. I’ll let it drop a bit further.

new to me Karoq 1.6tdi dsg
Hi, just bought my first ever Skoda. Come from a sportage of 4.5 years and never had an issue. My new Karoq, which is a 2016 1.6 tdi dsg has adblue, which my 2017 diesel sportage didnt. The range for the ad blue is saying 4500 miles. Ive bought some wynns additive on the suggestion of a friend, which helps stop it from crystallising in the tank. My quesiton is, its suggesting to get to full, i could put 1-1.25 gallons in the tank. Im wanting to put in this additive, so can i just bob 5 litres in there now? i wasnt sure if you had to wait until a specific level before its advisable to add more. Its literally so i can get this additive in there to make myself feel better, but needs to go in a full tank. Thanks in advance
