Not much to update on this tbh its still going strong, never misses a beat. 

Coming up for its mot again soon and could do with a couple of tyres on the front and some discs and pads. Other than the wear and tear stuff its been great

Bush carrier came out easier than expected and the plan was to fit strongflex bushes to match the fronts but I've just found a bearing conversion that's got me interested

I was in 2 minds whether to remove the stereo or not as i love my music but i noticed yesterday the volume knob was missing, I dont know where its gone or how but i can't find it anywhere

Decision made for me then! 

Stuck on what to fit in there now? Cubbyhole, blank or a couple of gauges but not sure what i could fit with it being n/a?

Another few jobs added to the list now. 

 

The old bushes near on fell out, just need to bash the casings out. 

I'll order a strengthening kit up for the bean then it can be blasted and poedercoated. 

Needs new handbrake cables and rear brake pipes to now :(

Shifted the fuse box from the side of the dash to the glovebox as it sits directly where the front cage leg will sit through the dash. 

 

Gear level setup removed as ive decided on the Pure Motorsport setup and it replaces the whole oe setup.

I've been enjoying it tbh, normally im impatient and get bored which is when i end up breaking them for parts .

with it being sat in the garage and no need to rush it its been a laugh in the most part.

 

I expected a few snapped/pain in the arse bolts and haven't been disappointed, i have discovered the engineers workshop at work which is like an aladins cave of nuts and bolts meaning I've been able to renew everything like for like bar the subframe bolts so its saved me some hassle there. 

 

Working with it on axle stands meaning i have to roll round on the floor isn't ideal and doesnt give me much room to play with but its dry and free

 

Managed to get a crowbar in and get the clamps back on the polybushes tonight to.

Arb bushes turned up, absolutely pig of a job. 

Got angry, locked the garage up, walked away, didn't smash anything.

Subframes bolted back up.

Still waiting on the arb bushes from strongflex. 

Arb and wishbones brackets painted. 

Chassis ground snapped, new one made up.

 

Tomorrows jobs:

Remove dash top ready for flocking

Remove passenger airbag, airbag ECU and wiring.

Tackled another job, then decided to buy new as the new type has added castor over the older version

Another productive day.

Distro block in ready to run the battery wire from inside the car.

 

Wiring loom for the seats chopped. I will need to find some with clip to turn all the associated lights off

 

Engine mount trimmed of any excess weight and to allow the ecu to mount fluch on it.

 

Interior roof painted where the deadening was.

just clean it with a damp cloth or fine brush its easy to look after

Ripped the rest of the interior out.

Removed sound deadening.....worst job ever!

Progress

Engines back on its mounts, 

Exhaust cut and joiner made to suit.

Battery relocation started.

 

Cant do much else now until the shops are open. 

Need subframe bolts, powerflex arb bushes, track rod ends, ball joints, length of cable, distribution block and a battery box.

 

Took the front coilover off to dismatle the spring and found the actual shocks damaged to :(

Looks like i will have to fork out for new so its not so much a budget build anymore.
