  1. Here are the Year to date Yeti sales stats for Ireland, all 453! Skoda have sold 4695 units here since 1 Jan wit the Yeti making up 9%. (Dealer has told me he'd sell 2 a week if he could get his hands on them) Overall the brand has 5.5% market share Skoda Ireland 2010 Sales
  2. I'd imagine they were removed due to their commercial nature and not being Briskoda partners/sponsors/advertisers
  3. Rearlights and Number plate lights are on with DRL's on my monster Drivers side rear Number Plate Offside rear lights on Offside rear lights off
  4. Here n Ireland our odometer is in KPH but we can choose either KPH or MPH to display on the maxidot
  5. Not a bother. Pity it is not in as pristine condition as it was before it's PDI. 6000km on it after 4 months which is what was previously our annual mileage.
  6. Yes, we tried that too but you will need to remove the parcel shelf
  7. An Evertonian you say! Here is one of my all time hero's and an ex Evertonian - Zinedine Kilbane - Absolute gentleman and feet firmly grounded.
  8. Fred, It is tight but we can get mrs soccerc's wheelchair flat into the boot with the spare provided we fold the handles down too.

  10. Get the red and white bit now As for me, I'm a sports photographer
  11. All VW/Audi/Skoda vehicles arrive from Emden at Rosslare Europort in County Wexford where they are then taken to NVD's compound in Kilrane before distribution to dealers. They do not traverse the UK from Grimsby nor do they enter via Dublin Port. (Unless this changed in the past 3 months which I doubt). We only have to versions available here the 1.2tsi and 2.0CR Tdi 2WD with the latter accounting for about 90% of sales. There are plans to have 4x4's on sale but my understanding is that this has been postponed until mid 2011 earliest
  12. Saw a White Tour de France liveried Yeti being used as a taxi in Yerevan Armenia during the week. Didn't have time to snap it with the camera as I was so shocked and never saw it again. Most other taxi's were Lada's or Logan's.
  13. and you're the only gay (yeti) in the village?
  14. Counterfeit parts raise safety fears http://www.irishtime...4276141725.html PADDY COMYN A Garda (Police) operation has uncovered a quantity of potentially dangerous counterfeit brake pads. The brake pads, branded as Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda and Audi were seized at properties in Dublin, Galway, Mayo, Donegal, Belfast and Armagh. The pads are not believe to have been sold through official Volkswagen Group dealerships, but may have reached independent retailers or repairers and subsequently consumers. When examined the pads were found to have 30 per cent less braking efficiency than genuine pads and under extreme or emergency braking conditions, while the body of the pad was found to detach or break away from the backing plate. The implication of this could result in the loss of the vehicles braking system. Alan Bateson, aftersales manager for Volkswagen Ireland, said that it was rare for counterfeit items to be safety related. “In the past, counterfeit car parts were mainly non-safety related items such as windscreen wipers and interior car accessories, more recently we have seen safety-related items such as brake pads, brake shoes and steering linkages coming available. We had become aware that counterfeit brake pads had come on to the market and we involved the Gardai who seized the items,” he said. According to Bates, there were many ways that these products could be identified. “The fake box label indicates that the product is a Wasserpumpe and not brake pads.” Wasserpumpe is German for water pump and the backing plate of the fake pads are engraved with TAXTE or TEXTA, whereas the genuine product are engraved with TEXTAR,” said Bateson. He added that there would be no fitting instructions with these counterfeit brake pads and that the tamper-proof box seal is missing and there would be no batch code and production date on the product. Volkswagen said that if anyone is worried that they may have these products fitted to their cars that their dealers across the group, including Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda dealers would be offering a free visual inspection for customers. However Irish aftermarket parts suppliers are eager to point out that not all aftermarket brake pads and discs available today are either counterfeit or inferior. In many instances independent garages sell spare parts from the company that originally manufactured them for the car firm. Parts from manufacturers such as Bosch can in some cases be bought cheaper than if they were branded by the car manufacturer, so it is not always astute to avoid these. Where potential dangers arise is if customers seeking savings buy parts which do not meet EU regulations in terms of performance. There may also be issues with using non-branded parts in relation to the car’s warranty.
  15. I got the one in Aldi recently and while not perfect it does work. Takes a bit of fiddling to get it anchored if not using the hooks over the rear seats.
  16. A south city dealer? Shop around, I'd try Ballybrittas Motors near Portlaoise and Shaws of Longford as they offered me the best deal, much better than any of the Dublin franchises.
  17. I doubt it, Skoda dealers here have exceeded their Yeti sales targets for 2010 but as we only have two engine options Skoda Ireland prebook builds so there are no real delays. Just under 800 Snow Monsters are on the road here, mainly in Dublin so rare enough. Sunroofs are off the menu and according to a source in VW Ireland will not be offered here again for some time. I've only encountered one Yeti on the road and that was a UK registered one
  18. Yep it has deadlocking. Welcome to the forum and as you've probably noticed not many of us here from Ireland.
  19. Well we get SWMBO's wheelchair, lying flat, into boot (fully sized spare and raised floor) plus her tripod goes on the back seats
