Ad Blue - RTFM
After 16k miles the car was saying 2000 miles adblue range. Simples I thought, just pour some in before we go to France. Except it didn't register. Realised when the 600 mile warning came up on the way home that (1) I had added a couple of litres and it was expecting a couple of gallons and (2) that the car needs to sit for up to 30 seconds with the ignition on without starting the engine to register what has been added. 1.5 gallons added and registered by the system. Al least I didn't do what my father appears to have done - adblue in the diesel tank. He swears he didn't but no one else would have put adblue in his car.

Tyre swapping back to front
In intend to rotate mine in the next few weeks but . . . . . . . It is leased and I am responsible for tyres so my objective is not to have to replace ANY of the tyres. I don't want to replace the fronts and hand it back with half worn rears. Granted there is a risk that I will need to replace all four but I can't see me doing that many miles.

Water pump.
Try calling someone like GSF car parts, they may be able to help and they will want to sell you the parts where Skoda want the service work..

Diesel Tuning Box
I am puzzled as to why people buy diesels and then fit a tuning box, why not just buy a petrol car with more BHP? With modern electronics they can tell it has been fitted, can probably even give you the date and time it was plugged in or unplugged.

Window tints
I have an SEL which probably has the same glass, rear windows are marked "V" and it appears to allow less than 70% of light through but nothing more specific than that, other web-sites say "tinting less than 70%" which could mean many things. Try calling a cal glass place and asking them.

Boot release from inside car - how?
There should be a button near the gear lever but you might be a victim of the global component shortages.

Check gear lever position message
Car is about a year old and under warranty, occasionally on changing into 6th I get a beep and the message "Check Gear Lever Position", adaptive cruise drops out, move the lever out of gear and back in to 6 and reset cruise and all is well. It ONLY happens in sixth and ONLY when changing into sixth. Note: if the engine speed drops and it wants a lower gear I get the "please change gear" message so it isn't that I am in too low a gear. It wouldn't start (Battery was flat) a couple of months ago and called Skoda Assist out and the technician thought it was one of the gear lever position sensors in the base of the gear lever, reported this to the dealer when it went in for them to check the gear lever position issue. Dealer could not reproduce the fault and is basically saying it is my fault for being in the wrong gear but that gives a different message. Anyone else experienced this?

Stop/start - didn’t realise you could restart using the steering wheel!
I don't have this but do have ACC When the car in front moves mine starts so it must be the radar.

Steering wheel heating turns on randomly and won't switch off

New Superb SEL 150 bhp diesel dsg.
Get them to explain the personalisation and keys, still not got it fully worked out but at least I am the only one who drives it.

Stop Start doesn't deactivate
Don't see why anyone has a problem with stop-start, had it in three cars over 9 years. At traffic lights you can anticipate the traffic moving and put the car into gear - guess what, it starts. Same in stop start traffic! Can be faster away from the lights than the boy racers who have kept the car in gear slipping the clutch! Now if you chose DSG . . . . . . real drivers have manual gearboxes

Urgent help 🆘
Not sure what the rules are in Ireland but you may be able to put pressure on the seller as they have sold you a car that tracks your position and provides that information to a third party without your knowledge or agreement. GDPR stems from an EU directive so something similar should apply in Ireland. Heated Windscreen Retro Fit
For the doubters we have had four five cars with them, while not as good as a webasto/kenlowe for defrosting it is way better than waiting for the engine to warm up. Start engine, put front and rear screens on, put heated seats on, clear side windscreens with scraper, get in and drive away. They are also brilliant on those occasions when humidity is high (e.g. wet coats in car) and the screen starts steaming up as you are driving, literally clears in seconds - way faster than the aircon can clear it.

McLaren seized in Southport car meet, Superb police cars it seems !
Staffordshire are running some, not noticed what the engine is.

what is inside of the hollow C pillar? Does it play any role in water drainage? any cables inside?
Stick some sound insulation on the outside to change the way the panel behaves, it will make a mess but I bet it won't make any difference. If it does then you know you need to work something out for the inside. You have found the problem with the 1.6, it is too small for a car of this size so you have to work the engine hard to get anywhere and hence more noise.

SUPERB DPF ON A LEASE CAR
I have a 2020 150 TDI, it has done less than 3000 miles since September last year. Down from 25k a year due to WFH - long may it continue. It does get a few local runs and went for about two months when it only went to my Daughters and back each week (about 2 miles each way), it has had some longer runs local runs and, recently, some longer runs. Not aware of having a forced regen yet. Next one will probably be petrol.

Axle stand positions
Looks like the guy in the video has never actually done anything on a car save for changing the wheel. When working on the suspension the last place you want the stand is under the suspension . . .

Delivery Delays
Better than last year, mine was ordered in Dec 19, due for delivery mid April 20 and I got it in early September 20.

Configurable Sportline lower bottom seat cushion
Wife has them (electric ones) in her Mokka. Extra support for those with long legs like me and not necessary for those with short legs like her. I get into trouble for moving it out when i drive her car. Seat shouldn't be any less comfortable with them if you have them in the right position for your legs. Once you have had them you want them in every car . . . . .

Upgrade to spare wheel
They are possible but they have their downsides as well.

how to check mileage?
Delivered in Liverpool and serviced in Colchester - looks like it was a lease car. Windows steamed up so may have a leak, check if the footwells/boot well are dry.

Gas Struts for hatch boot
Try lubricating them first, if you do change them don't underestimate the weight of the hatch.
