  1. Nothing like that mate. Honestly everything else is sound
  2. Yes ken. It starts first time everytime. Battery light goes off when I start it and never appears on dash when driving.
  3. LOL like a bratty child. Pmsl. More like a female on her dabs. I never realised you replied to my thread last time I posted up about the problems. I just haven't had the time it money to sort it as I've just moved home. Will definitely get it done ASAP. Divorced one bratty child and tbh I can't be bothered divorcing this one.
  4. I hope so. I'm assuming with the vacuum pipe being Pete tong that it would cause the car to hesitate on the accelerator and possibly cut out. I've lost alot of boost as well.
  5. Hi folks. Was driving car a couple of weeks ago and the throttle kept cutting out. A week or so before that I changed the throttle body gasket and cleaned it out. I managed to catch it before it died in could keep it going and the throttle would return. Looked under bonnet and car had 2 problems. 1. Coil no1 wasn't pushed in properly. 2. Have a massive hole in vacuum y pipe. Recently car drove sweet till today. Sitting at lights and the revs died. Took a good few cranks to start her back up but when I was cranking it, there seemed to be a lack or juice from battery. Could be a possible fault however once started it drove along sweet again. Got home turned her off and a minute or so later started her back up no problems. Getting really browned off with the car. Spent a fortune on her with suspension exhaust bushes etc and tbh I'm getting really disheartened with her. Anyone have anything similar and or a reason or theory as to why and how to fix it. I've attached 2 codes that were read a couple of weeks ago by a auto spark while he was in my workplace.
  6. Definitely be doing it soon. Car has lost its "whoosh" so to speak. The company I work for has a fleet of skoda rapids and they use tps and skoda for parts i think so may get a trade discount. Need to speak to the boss. I was kinda sure that bosch was a oem unit as it's German and so is the engine technically. Also bosch have a good reputation for quality. But definitely doing it soon. Just relocated to Plymouth recently so money a bit scarce at the moment. Future work though.
  7. I used a auto electrician who funnily enough was using his diagnostic equipment to fix a coach and a car where I work and I asked him and he obliged by reading the codes for me for free. Not sure but it was some kind of Bluetooth connected machine. Proper piece of equipment. He cleared fault codes and reset eml.
  8. Is there any specific brand of maf if I were to replace it. Checked out eurocarparts and they have a bosch version. I would probably get one from tps but I'm not a trade customer
  9. Not got a Scooby mate. Any ideas yourself mate
  10. Much thanks for the reply mate. Wasn't too sure as have quite a bad boost leak. Originally thought it was a boost hose but stumbled across this tonight. Also coil number 1 and 2 was popped up a bit. Pushed back in and that caught my eye.
  11. Hi guys having a couple of problems with the car cutting out and found this split in this hose. I'm not sure what it's for really so thought I I would put it too the members. Also ran a diagnostics check and these 2 codes came up. 17554 and 17608 Thanks in advance
  12. right folks wee update. many thanks to Claudio who came to my aid with vcds to my place and scanned the car for me. its gave me a better idea of what the problem is. however the car wouldn't start after vcds so I called my recovery and he had a Delphi scanner. car started like the other day no problem. it was just a flat battery. tbh that Delphi kit is a snazzy piece of kit and it threw up an immobiliser fault in the system. he reckons if I get the code for the immobiliser I can get the key re-programmed again and it should clear the fault of the key not talking to the system etc. if not its another avenue looked at I suppose. so does anyone know where I will get the code to reprogramme the immobiliser to the key. failing that I'm gonna replace the immo reader coil loom and possibly have the cluster repaired. need to find the casue of this and slowly but surely I'm getting there.
  13. does anyone know ifi can have the factory immobiliser deactivated. I'm considering getting a new key as I dropped the key onto a railway track (I work on the railway as an engineer) a few months back and then it started playing funny beggers. maybe damaged the tranponder unit inside the key making it unreadable sometimes to the factory immobiliser? if that fails then deactivated the immobiliser. after that i don't know. Also have spoken to a VCDS owner from this forum and he can look at it. also I tried to start the car a couple of days ago and it started first time and ran perfectly. no EML on dash either. bloomin weird. any more thoughts and opinions would be most grateful
  14. absolutely paul and hopefully will be doing that soon. spoke to a member via messenger and he is pretty close to me in london and is wiling to assist with the scan so hopefully a diagnosis will come of it and the wheels will be turning once more.
  15. i really hope its something stupid that can be fixed but you never know. cars are a mystery to me and at times a painful experience to the pocket. lol
  16. I hope so kenOneil. l really do as if its anything more serious like a throttle body or anything like that i just cant afford to splurge more cash on it so will be seriously considering my options for the car. is the immobiliser a common fault with these cars. a few weeks ago I dropped my keys and ever since its failed on me twice. the first time it happened last week and I had the crankshaft sensor changed and TOAD removed etc. I may even go down the route of changing the key and fob and getting it reprogrammedbut who knows needs scanned first and foremost
  17. happy holidays. i understand that its christmas etc but im in desperate need of someone with VCDS to scan my car. my car just wont start. check previous thread post in mk1 octavia forum for information. Can anyone help me out as of all times of the year for a car to break down it HAD to be now. I will compensate anyone who can help me out. I have a work van to use for a few days over the Christmas period but only for a few days. I need my car asap and cant even get a mechanic but if I had a clue as to what the score was I could atleast have a head start for the mechanic. thanks and all the best folks
  18. problem being though when the mechanic scanned the car it showed no faults present. then after it started it showed him throttle body pressure valve or something like that.
  19. hi folks not posted for a while as been really busy with work but some work has commenced on the car. So far the car has had a droplinks, track rod end, wishbones, cv joint changed, steering knuckle changed, a full service with all filters, mods include r32 FARB and polybushes, turbo-back milltek hi flow system and less than 50 miles ago i changed the suspension to AP shocks and springs with 35mm and all the mounts and bushes on the suspension to polybushes. about a week ago the car refused to start and I was led to believe it maybe the toad alarm system that was fitted not de-activating the immobiliser to the fuel pump. spent £270 to remove that by an auto electrician then it still refused. just spent another £280 yesterday and the mechanic, who is a VW specialist, changed the crankshaft sensor. after he changed it, it still wouldn't start so he put some easy start into it and he says it started after a bit of coaxing then it started again everytime. he even took it home and it started next day. I drove it back from the garage and it started perfectly. then just now I went out to the car to go out and its doing the exact same thing again. It started for about 2 seconds then cuts out then refuses to start. EML on again too. I'm seriously at my wits end as I now have NO money to get it repaired. I'm completely broke as ive spent I reckon £1500 in the last 2 weeks repairing it. can someone please point me in the right direction if they understand what I mean and if they have had similar problems. if I cant fix it I may break the car and sell the parts. but I'm unsure at the minute.
  20. anyway as promised the car went to the mechanic today and he fitted the r32 front anti roll bar and a new vacuum pipe as it was losing boost................................. OMFG what an amazing transformation. The car handles so much better. it feels tighter in the corners and smoother. I know my FARB was ****ed anyway but seriously its like driving a new car. fitted 23mm powerflex bushes too. Amazing. its one of the best upgrades ive heard of. and I have the proof at my fingertips literally. also the car is running on full boost now and its pulling like an express train which makes the milltek hi-flow downpipe and sports cat plus cat back non resonated exhaust worth while. so pleased with the upgrade. Anyway next on the agenda is to put 2 new tyres on the front. getting a bit low and that's an understatement. barely legal. then its service time which includes a KnN panel filter so it'll be breathing even better too. Loved my car from the start when I had my 04 fabia vrs then got a mk2 Octy vrs tdi and loved that even more. this is the baby and its gonna be a belter. Now need a win on the bookies to fulfil its potential and pay for the work. lol will post pics up tomorrow I hope
  21. Small update for the octavia. Will try and post some pics up soon. The car got hit by a bloody impatient moped rider in london a few weeks ago and cracked a massive hole in the back bumper so another job on the cards for the skoda. Then car was off the road for a week last month due to the amazing longevity of the exhaust system and didnt have the cash to fix straight away. However came across a seller on here with a full milltek exhaust system for sale incl hi-flow downpipe and sports cat and non resonated system cat-back. Bought it and got It fitted and the car drives so much better. The throttle response is epic and the car pulls so much better through the gears. Still having problems though with the boost leak and discovered it to be a vac pipe so fri 22nd it goes back into the garage to have it replaced. Also bought a mk4 golf R32 FARB with powerflex bushes so that's on the cards for next week too. Been a tough few months financially but plodding away as need be. Next on the agenda is service. Everything incl the oil pick-up pipe is getting done. gearbox oil and power steering flush too. got a k&n panel filter to fit too. Also it goes in for the coilpack recall soon after and then onto the brakes. A complete overhaul incl Brembo discs and pads all round with new calipers as 2 are sticking. One front and one rear so replacing the lot and new braided brake hoses and handbrake release springs too while im in the guts of the car and will do a brake fluid change while I'm there. Then it gets booked in for Timingbelt and waterpump change. Plans after that? short shift kit, g60 flywheel and vr6 upgrade, ecs dogbone, 28mm rear arb, coilovers (maybe dampers and springs), tints, deflectors, rear blinds, new alloys and then ill tackle the bodywork. got a quote to repair and paint the bumpers, dent in n/s/f wing and straighten out sills as there crushed in with jacking up. Not me the car had that when I bought it. Love the car and want it looking pucker. Phew long list but I'm plodding away when finances give me the chance too.
  22. hey do you still have exhaust for sale? mine decided to disintegrate on way to work and need one asap. I was looking at the same place you got yours from anyway. I cant come to collect as I don't have a car but if you could post or arrange something pm me. I live next to m1 in London at brent cross.
  23. Right guys sorry for the delay yet again in keeping this thread up-to-date. Recently purchased a complete service kit and i had to change wishbones droplinks trackrod ends and lower ball joints and i had to get a garage to do it. It cost me over £300 and tbh i feel angry because i know i can do alot of this myself. problem is i dont have any tools or the money. My garage back home in scotland got broken into and ive lost over £1000 of tools. I am staying in london at the minute due to work but i travel back to scotland regularly hence the reason i cant get the tools to fix the car. So im looking for some assistance to completely service the car and as i found out from the mechanic i need to change the front sway bar and bushes. Bt im not paying those prices for the car to get repaired. Its broke me. Can anyone in the cricklewood/kilburn or NW london area help me out here? I will pay for the help but not stupid money.
  24. I would stick with the white actually. It looks amazing and it really suits the car and looks as if it was factory and cleans up the lines of the car up. Again only my opinion but i like it man
