  1. After a few weeks of these being on, the front wheel centre (axle) seems to have developed a red rusty coating, should I rub this off with steel wool and lightly grease? Or will it book to wait and then clean up prior to putting the alloys on. Maybe I should have got a cheap set of trims to keep the damp off.
  2. Not a clue any way to tell, they are the furthest from the boiler downstairs however.
  3. lockshield valve didn't help until it was almost closed. pressure seems ok at 1.3bar, none need bleeding this was already done, I find it odd thats its only 2 rads, and the closest together ones at that.
  4. Ok thanks will see if adjusting the other valve helps.
  5. I have 2 radiators which sit back to back, one in dining room and on other side of the wall another in the kitchen. These both have TRV's, kitchen is set to 2, dining set to 3. Once the radiators are up to full temperature as per the TRV setting, if the boiler activates for more heat as per the thermostat these radiators whistle (like an old stove kettle) the whistle appears to originate from the radiator near the bleed valve and not the TRV. Adjusting the TRV up or down stops the noise for a bit but it then starts again, leaving the TRV at max setting (5) also appears to stop the whistle. Radiators have been fully bled, there are other radiators in the house at different settings between 1-5 and they are all ok. Any ideas? Thanks.
  6. Put mine on today highest it's been last week or so is about 8-9 degrees but at times I commute usually down between 3-6 degrees wanted to get them on when it was dry and frost free, still need another dry day to thoroughly clean the alloys before storage.
  7. Fitted winters today should there be a cover on the spline the wheel fits to (centre of wheel)? Looks odd to me. Also should I have used grease?
  8. Thanks think I got it sorted. Turned the screw on the loop followed by turning the lever, heard rushing water, valve didn't move at first then it jumped to 1 bar the slowly climbed to just under 1.5 bar. Ran heating tonight had to bleed 1 rad, then refill to raise the pressure a bit, now seems perfect but will keep an eye on pressure and rads for more air.
  9. Ok cheers James will give this a go tomorrow, just surprised both ends don't have a lever that's all.
  10. No it's not I believe this brass tap isolates hot water going to the taps at sinks etc. should it still be closed to refill?
  11. This is what the filling loop is like http://www.plumbnation.co.uk/site/15mm-combi-boiler-filling-loop/large-beta-combi-filling-loop-straight-valve-large.jpg
  12. That's the gauge, the braided hose has a black lever at one end which does nothing if turned, at the other end there is a screw head, will prob give this a turn tomorrow see if helps, getting a bit late for playing tonight, failing that see about a plumber next week Thanks for your assistance.
  13. There doesn't seem to be a black tap just the gauge with a red plastic bit which has printed PN10 6bar.
  14. There are 2 tanks which u can see in 2nd photo 1 red and 1 white the pressure gauge is below the red tank.
  15. Reset could be right as the was a lever which I moved but refilling did not happen any ideas how to reset? Thanks
  16. Thanks James not a combi though I agree it does look like a filling loop surrounding pipes get hot when water is heating though. So not sure.
  17. Bled rads recently as had a build up of air, pressure now reading 0 bar can't seem to find a way to refill the system. Boiler is an Ideal Logic 15 and is in garage. I've taken photos of pipe work which is in upstairs cupboard. Can anyone assist? Thanks

  20. I've had plenty GA's in the past. As many have said venflon in the hand/wrist, then usually a pre-med, anti-sickness (Cyclizine) then the white stuff (Propofol) and then goodnight!, they may give Entenox (Gas/Air - 50/50 mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen) to breath prior as well just as mild anaesthetic/relaxant. Post-op depending on circumstances they can give antibiotics in the theatre along with pain medication, sometimes Morphine which does nothing for me so in some cases they use Fentanyl which is far better. Mostly when you come round its a bit of a abrupt wake up and a bit of a sore throat (from the breathing tube) just drink plenty if allowed and all should be fine. Just watch if they give additional Cyclizine post-op as that stings like hell.
