  1. As per last Friday's discussions, as long as we have a couple of gallons of that Avon stuff we'll be fine I of course am imune and don't get bitten anyway
  2. All seems good to me, if when you phone up to enquire/book, can you book some good weather at the same time
  3. As above picked up a stonechip on a drive down the borders on Saturday, am not a happy bunny :( But I guess thats the joys of car ownership.
  4. Thanks people Have gone for option2. I did consider Kay's suggestion given the difference in price (£350), but this way I don't have to wait longer and risk somebody messing up £1,000 worth of wheel during the refurbishment. Also a refurb in anthracite is probably about £80 a corner anyway may more for 18" 's. Now they take about a week to 10 days to arrive fro, Germany, its going to be a long wait.
  5. 19" wont fit they rub, according to someone else who has fitted 19" 's
  6. Seriously considering some new alloys for my new Golf, the standard ones are ok and will prob keep them for winter use but would prefer something different for day to day in the summer. Choices are: 1. 18" BBS CO in Silver - £1,006 2. 18" BBS CK in Anthracite - £1,355 3. 18" Speedline Turini in Anthracite - £1,165 What do you think? Golf photo's can be found here: VW Golf
  7. Looks like a good bunch of options there will try and get a good look over the new week or so, have you been to any of these previous?
  8. My Daily: Tag Heuer AquaGraph For special occasions: Rolex Turn O Graph DateJust
  9. Great pics's there Davy, never even seen that Superb during the day, must have sneaked later in the afternoon.
  10. if your thinking of the 31st this currently fine for me, will pencil it in so as to avoid any more clashes
  11. Thanks for reminding me forgot the BTCC was at Knockhill that weekend. A change if date would be handy so I don't have to toss a coin.
  12. I could be up for this, once I beg/borrow/steal (delete as appropriate) a tent.
  13. Just back from Bigger. Here's some pics from Saturday: 56k users go boil an egg
  14. Pretty sure they do have an oven, I've had a few jobs done there over the last few years on various cars from a simple bumper scuff to multiple panels, I never had any complaints and turnaround was always quick. Price wasn't too bad either, speak to them nicely and they may do a cash job if it's something simple.
  15. Welcome. I'd recommend the DSG box, I've got one in my Golf, it's nothing like a conventional auto and the changes are so smooth and makes the car easy to drive. Can't speak for long term reliability but I'm 99% sure I've read some Octavia have been used as Taxi's with DSG and they were fine. Few other options I'd consider are the Maxidot display, Leather package for the steering wheel (gives multifunction wheel as well), Light Assist Package and possibly the parking sensors.
  16. surely they should have got rid if the other rust spot as well, if not it'll just have to go back soon enough.
  17. I've always used Willowbrae Coachworks.
  18. As I work in the IT field I've lost count of the number of times I've been asked to look at & fix peoples computers, some I have seen in a fair old state. I used to do these gratis but am now really fed up of doing it and I make sure I get some form of payment (alcohol or cash works). Some people I just plain refuse and I know it's their own stupid fault it's in that mess so let them live with the consequences. If they're female I usually let them off (shallow or what :P)
  19. I agree Audi has supposedly the better brand, but no toys and couldn't live with that rattley old 1.9 diesel unit, time that was retired.
  20. It does indeed give full ipod control
  21. Fraid not had to extra to upgrade to that unit.
