  1. Due to the accidental purchase of a Mk5 Jetta 2.0T FSI, My wee silver one is now up for sale :( Little bit gutted, but super excited about getting the Jetta! AwesomeAl's 1.9TDI 100PD Fabia For sale ---> http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/253864-skoda-fabia-19tdi-100pd-comfort/
  2. For sale here we have is my Skoda Fabia 1.9TDI Comfort 100bhp. This car is for sale for £3,395 o.n.o. and has covered 46,600 miles at present. The car has Electric front windows, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control, Multi-Function display, genuine Skoda Carpet Mats and drives fantastic! It's incredibly economical and sees around 45mpg around town with anything upto 70mpg on longer journeys! Since purchasing the car I have had the following work done on it: * Front wishbone rear bushes upgraded (The original ones are very weak and cause tyre wear) * Cam belt and Water pump change * Full service including pollen filter * Washed/Polished/Waxed periodically * 4x Brand new Uniroyal Rainsport Tyres * Inlet manifold and EGR valve stripped and cleaned * Brand new Bosch Aero twin wiper blades Whilst the above jobs were carried out the Engine/Suspension/Steering/Brakes were all checked over and the car is in excellent mechanical condition. It's MOT is valid until 18th August 2013, Taxed until the end of April 2013. The car has a comprehensive service history where it has been serviced once a year meticulously. The service book is stamped up and I have most the original invoices to prove this. The car is very low mileage, again this can be proven in the Service book/Invoices. Previous to me there has only been one owner. The vehicle has the ATD engine (100PD) which is well known as being one of the best motors Volkswagen have ever made! I have both keys for this vehicle and the V5 registration document is present. The car is Insurance group 5 (1-20) / New insurance group 12 (1-50) and it is very cheap to insure! The bad points: Let's face it, Every car has it's downsides and it wouldn't be an honest sale if I didn't mention them. Unfortunately as this car was previously owned by an elderly couple in Wales, there are some very minor marks on the bodywork most likely from driving down single track lanes with sticky out hedges. The original chrome front grille trim looked a little scruffy, so this has been painted textured black. If this is an issue, I would be happy to obtain a replacement chrome trim to see the car go to a good home. The previous owner had some colour coded parking sensors fitted, however these have never worked since I bought the car. Probably an easy fix for someone in the know, but not my area of expertise. In the photos, the car looks as if it has tinted windows. This is not the case; The car currently has fitted a set of 'Perfect fit sunshades'. As a friend of mine wants these, they will be removed from the car prior to sale. Other than this there are no issues with the car, It drives fantastic and has served me incredibly well! If you have any questions regarding this sale please feel free to ask. I would much prefer anyone looking to make an offer to come and have a look at the vehicle first. Unfortunately I can only allow for road tests if the proposed buyer is able to show the correct insurance documentation to state that they are insured on other cars. NOW SOLD Please note: This sale is a personal sale and has no relation to Awesome GTI.
  3. For sale here is my set of UV Car Shades for the Mk1 Fabia Hatchback. I'm looking for £50.00 delivered, These can also be collected from me at Awesome. These are what I like to call the thinking man's window tints! The reason being, they get rid of unwanted UV light, and thus keep the car cool in summer, they make it difficult to see if anything is in the back of the car and they also help to prevent glare from cars with xenons such as range rovers which often travel too close at night! The best bit is, that once installed (5 mins) they can be removed in around 2 minutes flat! These are a perfect fit and come complete with a storage bag, fitting kit (clips and tool) and instructions! They are in fantastic condition, lovely and clean and were only purchased brand new a couple of months back. Unfortunately due to a change of plans, I am selling my fabia, so these will be going too. I don't have any photos of them off the car as they are back in their storage bag and put away until they sell, However this is how my car looks with them fitted: As a rough idea of what these are like off the car, they are like this, but the right shape for a fabia: Click here to download fitting instructions Please note: This sale is strictly a personal sale and is in no way related to Awesome GTI. PM Me for more information!
  4. Hmm, So the job commenced... removed all the pipe work ready to remove the EGR valve EGR valve removed and looking pretty skanky in the ol' inlet manifold! This is what I found inside the EGR valve... Then the most important bit... Mr Muscle Oven cleaner used to clean the EGR valve out. Although it took a fair bit more effort than just spraying it on! Went through 3 cheap tesco toothbrushes trying to get rid of all that stuff! This is how much crap gathers in the inlet manifold over a period of just 46,000 miles! Inlet manifold and EGR system removed completely EGR Blanked off after the Mr Muscle treatment EGR valve now much much cleaner! Hopefully the blanking off should prevent this gunk from building up ever again. It now runs a heck of a lot better! Smoother, Stronger and cleaner! Unfortunately being the PD100, I'm still finding the car a little bit boring so I'm thinking along the lines of saving up for a 9n3 Polo GTI not decided just yet though!
  5. Yeah, I've got a couple of cans of Mr Muscle oven cleaner, a toothbrush and a new Inlet manifold gasket at the ready. Gonna be a fun day! Need to try and remember my camera and get some pics of what it's like before and after cleaning.
  6. Yeah, other than springs and an engine mount the car is completely standard. The map was done with the standard turbo which I'll probably keep unless I get given a good reason to upgrade. I got rid of the EGR System entirely on my PD130 Bora and to be fair neither the economy, nor the performance improved. My main reason for doing away with EGR is that it's just a problem waiting to happen!
  7. Job for when I've got some spare time Genuine VW EGR Blanking plates, gaskets and nuts for the turbo!
  8. gotta love the hooting noise on shut off
  9. That's pretty much spot on really! Anything between 80?c and 95?c is a normal operating temperature
  10. There are a few things which can cause the turbo to go. One of the most common causes is oil starvation. This can often be the unfortunate result of the 'VAG Long-life' service schedule. We've seen many cars now at 80,000 miles with slight oil pressure issues due to the oil being left so long before having a change. This causes a build up of sludge on the oil pickup pipe in the sump, which reduces the flow of oil and when it comes to changes in oil pressure, Turbos can be incredibly delicate! Sticking to a Regular service interval every 10k or 12 months is much more ideal and the addition of an Oil Flush solution into your service regime can also help to prevent this a great deal! Another thing we've seen quite a bit of is a lack of mechanical sympathy. It is unfortunate that quite a few people treat their engine and thus turbo; badly. Thrashing the car from cold and not allowing it to cool down properly once finished driving. There are any number of other reasons which can cause a turbo to fail, but these seem to be two of the most common causes we've seen.
  11. I was a little nervous about using cheap eBay suppliers as if something goes wrong after a couple of weeks, it's very difficult to get an issue resolved. I ended up going with a company that a customer of ours recommended a while back called Ultra LEDs and ordered a set of these: 37mm Cool White Festoon At £4 each, they aren't the cheapest but I've had them for about 4 years. They were fitted to my bora before and are now fitted to my fabia. Still going strong!
  12. Oh yeah, I've got some of those 'Privacy Shades' fitted too! Cheaper, Quicker and easier to fit than window tints and make it a lot nicer to drive at night on motorway runs No longer am I blinded by the xenon lights of range rovers etc!
  13. Don't get me wrong, they're alright, but when the car has spent it's life in Anglesey parked under a tree and the 'plating' so to speak has all cracked and goosed itself, then the textured black finish looks a million times better. Couldn't be bothered spending money on a new chrome grille trim. Would have prefered it done body colour but again, too much money to have it painted properly. It's my budget shopping trolley car
  14. Grille trim fitted: It's not great, but it's better than chrome!
  15. Hey guys, had my fabia for a little while now but thought I'd put some pics up of it It's nothing special, just a 100pd Comfort with a few minor mods. The car is used once or twice a week to go food shopping and to the Girlfriend's house every now and then! I picked it up for a good price on an 04' plate with just 41,000 miles on the clock! The car came with a great service history, having had a full service every single year (despite low usage). It had a few minor faults, the rear doors leaking and the driver side rear door wouldn't open, but I managed to get them sorted same day I picked it up! Once of the first things I did was get rid of the side and rear badges and fit a set of the 'Osram Diadem' indicator bulbs, Only a very minor amount of work to do, but certainly makes the car look a lot cleaner. I also removed the black rubbing strips but due to poor paintwork from the factory, Ended up replacing these: After this and knowing that the car needed new tyres, I acquired a set of Golf VR6 Winter steels! The main benefit of these was that tyres were much much cheaper to buy (195/45/15) than what I could get for the standard 14" Steelies. On this I decided to go with a set of Uniroyal Rainsport 2's which I've used in the past and really do like them! Never lose grip in the wet at all! Once these were fitted to the car, I had an Awesome Remap done, which took the car up to 142bhp. This also made it a bit nicer to drive on longer journeys, particularly helping when overtaking lorries and such! Having done the remap, I found the standard springs and engine mount to be a little too supple! (Not a bad thing considering it's a 'comfort' Model, but ended up with a set of Koni Springs, Some Ibiza Cupra wishbone bushes, a Whiteline Rear anti-roll bar and a Powerflex PFF85-620R engine mount! This made the car a lot better to drive, much sharper and less floppy than standard all round! I am still considering upgrading the dampers as it can be a little seasick inducing on the bumps we have on our local roads. Maybe even stretch my budget to a set of coilovers. My most recent mod the other day was getting rid of the horrible looking chrome on the front grille! I found some truck bed paint I had lying around for a while so set to work in my loft yesterday! (Ignore my racing oven glove) (Texture looks quite good!!) Will get a picture up once it's fitted! I think my next task is going to be to clean out the VNT system on the turbo as I've had a spot of limp mode issues on the motorway, I'll also be blanking off the EGR valve, cleaning it and the inlet manifold out! More updates soon!
  16. Jason - Your parts are still on order and our ECS delivery has not yet landed. The ECS Delivery was shipped out last Friday so it should be arriving here any time between Tuesday and Friday this coming week. I will make enquiries with regards to our Newsouth performance delivery today.
  17. also worth mentioning - If any of you are ever in doubt, or would like to know if something is in stock before you order, feel free to e-mail us, PM us, Ask us on Facebook, or even ring us and we'll let you know!
  18. ^ This is something which will be done. Like I say, we've got a new web guy who'se gonna be re making site from scratch so these things can and will be looked at!
  19. We keep being told this but whenever I look, I just can't find a page which does mention anything about next day delivery? Please provide me with a screenshot and a link to the page that it is on so that I can get this rectified. We have a new eCommerce manager who is going to be completely re-developing our website from scratch which will eventually be linked in with an all new Accounts package. Due to the ridiculously high level of product content on the website and us not wanting to out source data-entry companies from the likes of India etc. Who will just return us spreadsheets of endless incorrect descriptions, This is going to take some time to do before the all-new site is released. Lots of areas that we have had issues with in the past are being looked at and problems being prevented in the 'next' online shop which should certainly make life easier for all of us. As said though, This most certainly isn't an overnight job but we're aiming for it to be the very best of it's kind out there! Normally stock for these products is in hand. We try and keep as much of the popular ECS products as we can. This particular occasion we have been caught short due to an issue in the order process somewhere along the line.
  20. Hi Guys, We are up against one massive issue which is difficult to resolve. Unfortunately, it's not actually possible to link our sales order system directly in with the online store to show what is and isn't in stock. As well as this we have over 40,000 individual products on our website so this eliminates any possibility of us updating stock quantities manually. It's simply be a mamoth task for us to change product statuses every time something gets delivered and every time we sell the last of one specific product. To hold stock of at least one of each of 40,000 products would require us to have an absolutely phenomenally large warehouse and would be an absolutely monsterous investment to carry out! I can understand your frustration with this. The big thing we are up against with the specific items mentioned in this thread is that our American suppliers are rather slow and difficult to get things from in a hurry! The 42draft - Oil pressure relocation kit is a very rarely sold part and it would be insane of us to hold stock of every individual product regardless of how quickly they move off the shelves. Retail business is something which has to be done strategically. Holding stock of the things that sell frequently and keeping less frequent sellers to a zero or minimum stock level for special order. I'm happy that you have received an e-mail informing you of the stock not being in and I can see it from both sides. Yes, If I were a customer then I'd most certainly want to know how long the 'non-stock' items are going to take, however from our side or the argument. We quite simply don't seem to be able to get an answer from our supplier and the last thing our members of staff want to do is make a random guess, only for it to be thrown back at them at a later date. At the end of this month, I personally will be having a meeting with both Awesomes Operations director, Sales manager and our Parts manager to see what can be done to improve our situation with U.S. import parts as due to the slow shipping process etc. they have unfortunately caused us issues in the past. Crazy as this is going to sound, not many Main dealers provide remaps around here and any of the ones I've heard of use Revo Technik. The very same people we were using for our remaps. When it comes to the Revo Remaps, we're not allowed to differenciate from Revo's suggested retail prices. Therefore if there is a main dealer selling the same map cheaper, then they are doing this against the suppliers will and at the end of the day, we would have hapily price matched it. As for your quote for servicing which was nearly double the main dealer, On a 2.0TDI we charge £109 for an interim service and £169 for a full service. If you know of a dealer doing these for anywhere near £54.50 and £84.50, Please give me there details so that I can use this to barter for better servicing prices! Jason, I hope you have actually tried to contact us before putting a comment like that? As for nothing in stock, Next time you are in the area, pop in to see me and I'll personally give you a guided tour of our stores. You'll be quite surprised. This particular instance seems to have been caused almsot entirely by delays on our ECS Tuning Delivery.
