  1. I have one, but not yet on the road, awaiting the cherished plate transfer to go through from my 2004. It arrived yesterday at stealers. Looks far 'sharper' than the lemon yellow. I first saw one down at a dealers at Fareham. You either like it, or loath it !!
  2. I actually printed that off and took it with me !! The service manager said he had never seen it before ! makes you wonder but hey ho !
  3. I have ordered a new vRS. Took advantage of the old 0% and a really good deal against my 2004. Not 'too much' dosh had to found ! I had done a bit of research re this Euro 4, BLT engine code, the possible (or likely hesitation / stutter ) and still came to the conclusion I still wanted the deal. However this site really helped, and even my local stealers, who are in fact pretty good, claimed to now 'nil' about the stutter, claiming about 12 vRS sold this year, with not one coming back in ! ( words from service manager, not sales ) They are now aware of the potential problem. Perhaps I will be unlucky 13 We shall see point is, although many take the p**s out of sites like this, the knowledge is rather useful tool to have
  4. Done the deal, at a price i was happy with. My 54 ( Two years old) for a new one at a price i was happy with. And Skoda take the hit on cheap money, not the dealer ! will send you a pm stu !! might be on the way down to see you !
  5. I have seen on the main Skoda site 0% (finance subject to usual status blurb !) on the sport and vRS. I spoke with a dealer today, who will remain nameless, who says that will cost the dealer doing the deal ? Not going to give me such a good deal ? Anyway on the main site not much info on 0% over say 12, 24 months or whatever ? It has got me nibbling a new one again !! Thoughts on this, for the free money are they going to knock lumps off the value of mine !
  6. well thought long and hard and had a really good price offered as you are most likely are aware, to do a deal. I had the weekend to make up my mind. Having just put the cc on mine, and had it serviced, and put new tyres on it, and taxed it, I came to the decision to hang on to my OLD 2 year vRS with 18,000 miles on the clock ! I think I am of a mind to visit seat surgeons as well, having seen what they did to those fabia's . So if I put Seat Surgeons in, I will keep same for a good few years, if not I will be knocking on the door in 2007 !
  7. Early start on a saturday morning and dropped car down to Hampshire for Stu to do the Cruise control retro fit !! Very impressed indeed. If you have not got it, it is well worth the few quid having same installed. Great service, nice coffee and the option of a sarnnie as well !! Good morning out and certainly easy ride home up the A34 and across M4 !!
  8. I will be seeing them as well !! I saw a fabia yesterday that had the Seat surgeon job done on it, and really well impressed. The 'boss' in york has been on holiday and is back monday, so i was told by a young lady whom I spoke to when I rang them last week !! I understood the price if you quoted this site was £790. The good lady i spoke to did not confirm this price and thought it 'might' have gone up !! Anyway we shall see. Transformed the car I saw !!
  9. Greetings I have an 04 VRS since last september, having traded in a 1.9TDi. Very pleased. Mine was the first of the newer styled fabia's, compared to the slightly earlier one's. My brother has one of these VRS models, slightly different grill and lights etc. However, what i have noticed is that his at 80mph indicated his some 0.5rpm slower than mine coming in at 2K revs in 6th at 80mph. Mine clearly, in the same gear, is 2.4K revs at the same speed ? Have they changed the gearing. I can understand a slight error in speeds etc, but certainly engine not working as hard ( Yes, I was in 6th )
  10. After a couple of weeks I have completed my first 1000 miles in the vRS and love it ! However I notice my mpg is not as good as on my TDi which had done 24K when sold. I have read some threads on this but is the general view that this improves as engine gets loose ?? My last tank worked out at 44 mpg, which was a good mixture of all sorts of driving, good urban etc. I had hoped for 50 plus
  11. Thanks to all, saved me looking a dork at my dealer ! My 00 1.4 16v had a seat belt man and the 'bleeps' My 02 TDi had a red man, and No bleeps, and this one has diddly squat !! It's Mrs trotts who likes being told off if she fails to put the belt on. The Hand book, to put it bluntly is poor. Still, in the grand scheme of things not really an issue !! Stange how the Octy retained it, but not the Fabia.
  12. Well, should a little red 'seat belt man' come on if you fail to put on the seat belt ? I have no red warning light or beep's. Hand book tells me I should have so, although it do's say different models of Fabia's should have different features. I would have thought the vRS would have ?? Can anyone enlighten me
  13. Got my new wheels, picked up from H L Gorner in Warrington. Cracking deal, as they needed to sell for figures at end of the month !! My old, or rather nice TDi (02) is now on there site ! Very pleased, however I was surprised that at 80mph in my old TDi in fith I would be doing 2.5K revs. At the same speed in the vRS in sixth I was doing a fraction under 2.5 at 80mph. I am aware it will kick higher up the rev range but still running the beast in !!
  14. I had the Buttco 'wooden' dash kit on my TDi. It looked ok, as I had the beige interior . I am also considering the options now on my vRS. I don't think the wooden effect will suit, and likewise would like to hear from anyone who has installed the Silver aliminium look or carbon. I agree with some that the dash needs a wee bit of brightening up. All different I suppose
  15. I have just done a deal getting a vRS this week, px'ing my TDi. Found a dealer who would give me my asking price for my 2 year old TDi. I was amazed at the different values different Skoda dealers would put on my low mileage TDi. Anyway job done However. I have never been able to get AM on the radio, in this car, OR the 1.4 I had before, Yesterday my big bad brother, who also owns a vRS asked me how you get medium wave, (AM) on his radio. He cannot get it either, although we are in a good reception area etc. And yes, both radios have AM switch gear. Is it us, or are all the radio's out of the skoda factory bad with AM signal !!
  16. We are a family of Skoda owners !! I was the first with a 1.4 16v which I had for 6 months before I did a deal on a 1.9TDi which i love to bits !! My big brother was soooo impressed by mine, he went one better and got a VRs Then my big bad sister, well she liked mine, and big brothers and got herself a 1.9SDi estate  We are going to have a rally soon ! Anyway I am keeping my eyes open for a nearly new VRs , anywhere in UK where I can get the best deal for my 2 year old TDi ! If the price is right.... :goodvibe: Give us a clue for the best dealer in town then ! Distance no problem
