  1. They look good! er you could have washed off all the tyrefitting gunk tho!
  2. Screw in rear offside a month ago..could hardly tell it was flat looking at it!
  3. Yeah I was ****ed when I found out about curing Z2, the shop I bought it from never mentioned it would be beneficial to cure..only found out after I'd applied the Colli..I think ur right Hunty, I'll just apply another coat of Colli, then in spring strip it all off and reapply Z2+ZFX.. Thanks for the replies
  4. I got a 3mm stone chip on my wheel over the weekend, didn't even know you could get them...gutted
  5. ahhh thanks...ok, I've got Z2 under the Colli, so I'll just go for another layer of it
  6. Hi Guys, gave it two coats of Colli476 mid September, I suppose I'm concerned about rubbing in contaminants/scratches without clay bar'ing??
  7. What would be the easiest way to add a sub woofer. The car has the standard Swing and I assume it doesn't have a sub out? I? I'd like to keep the functionality I have with the Swing, eg MDI connection and bluetooth intergration. What would you guys suggest?
  8. Bit of a dumbass question, now they have started to salt the roads around my way in ernest, I would like to get more layers of wax on the car. Is it just a case of washing then applying the wax...or do I have to strip off what is already on, claybar and build it up??
  9. Sharkrider is agreeing with you guys re the sooty deposits, and yep you want a nice biscuit colour for the plugs..Er i thought cooler spark plugs are shorter rather than a different gap, eg you could have the SAME gap for a hot or cold plug (its been a loooong time since i sat a C&G MVT exam.
  10. I got this done when last at my dealers... This was one thing i didn't take into account...so now when i unlock all doors it sounds like an R2D2 as you have to press the button twice which gives 4 bleeps... I will change it on my next service to bleep on locking, then one button all doors, NO bleep on unlocking...sigh
  11. Martyn, as long as you secure the bike, there shouldn't be any probs..56cm will fit with ease, my bike is a 56, not 54 doh! I think the biggest issue is having to set up your seat height every time you use it.. I used an external bike rack (thule 591's) on my previous car, brilliant..but, I've seen horror pics of people going through height restricted car parks and getting their bikes ripped off and roof dented. Your MPG will go down using an external rack too!!
  12. Did you lift off the throttle just before you lost the rear? Sounds like you did, and induced snap oversteer..great fun on wide airfield's, scary on public roads!
  13. Spent a few mins trying to fit various bikes using the Skoda internal rack... 54cm road bike 17" hartail mtb Observations Although the road bike fitted in the boot space easily, it needed the saddle dropping. Not ideal...in fact a pain in the a*se! As previously mentioned the forks are carbon, so the bike needs to be VERY securly strapped down using the luggage hooks as any movement whilst travelling will damage the dropouts... If you have a larger MTB, don't bother with this rack, it's unsuitable (didn't try my large full suspension bike no point..) The problem is that the boot space is too small, the only way to fit the bike was to let the rear wheel overhang into the front seat area. This makes securing the bike virtually impossible Would you want a muddy wheel so close to your elbow etc... So in conclusion... Fine for road bikes as long as you don't mind adjusting your saddle and strap down securely. :wonder: MTB's don't bother... Thank gawd i got this as a freebee from my dealer!! Oh if its fitted to an Octavia Estate, then it would be a totally different story I'm sure.
  14. I wonder if this bonnet would fit S2000 bits for sale
  15. for eighty quid they are a steal! Best rack I've seen, easily compatible with anything Thule produce..looking at leon y k's pics tho, the way they are very close to the side of the car at the front, and towards the middle at the back. with the back wheels overhanging the rear seats I think the rack would be better suited for the Octavia.. For external roof rack/bike transporter...Thule 591's every time, simply awesome.
  16. I've got the internal Skoda bike rack, not used it yet as I'm off my bikes with a knee injury..I'll do some pics at the weekend. It's a very substantial rack, great bit of engineering, but I'm not convinced the boot is big enough to fit my full susser in length or height...
  17. Awesome quote upto 40mm drop They have just used the generic term as you can get Eibach spring dropping to 40mm, just not the Fabia ones
  18. So should the interior button be pressed with the door closed or open??
  19. I'm guilty of this too...left my daughter for a while, came back and she was like a statue, too frightened to move, as the alarm had been activating constantly...I still feel quilty everytime she gets in the car :S
  20. Of course your right, as long as you realise you have different aspect ratio tyres on and don't hoon it around bends etc using a different sized tyre in an emergency would get you home... :|
  21. Rolling circumference will still be the same on the space saver example, but not on the 205/215 example above...that is why you get a speedo reading differential.
  22. Great pic...I might have blurred the rest of the scenery??
  23. Lots of vehicles have dissimilar sized tyres usually RWD tho for performance reasons..So yep ur going to get better grip etc with wider tyres, but personally I prefer to have the same amount of grip front/back on a FWD car (not withstanding weight considerations etc)
  24. Legally you can do it... Cons You need to carry a can of Tyreweld or similar along with ur spare tyre.. I'm not sure if it would increase the risk of snap oversteer, which is ok on the track, a fookin nightmare on the roads??
