  5. i know the Skoda Octavia's didn't finish within the top10 of the Argentinian rally, so maybe thats for that reason for no coverage???
  6. Get the wagon...the thing about the owning a hatch with a dog/s is your forever cleaning dog gob all over the rear window due to the rake of the screen...u dont get that with the vertical estate window. Stuart_J - As for Wagon or Hatch, the Hatches are rarer, therefore more exclusive maybe. I've never seen a vRS estate on the road, but i've seen loads (er 3) vRS hatches, and lots of normal hatched taxis.:1:
  7. Stimps your bulbs look really cool....and thats the biggest capacitor i've ever seen (wouldn't like a shock off that:eek: )

  9. MY o/s jet spray's the back edge of the bonnet, which isn't very good for corrosion protection or the paint work. I don't fancy having to re-align the bonnet just to correct it  Fine mist spray's are ok for humidifiers...give me a real mans jets!
  10. Anyone know of a quick way to jack the car so that both front and rears are off ground at same time? touring car pneumatic jacks....air line in the front & rear....instant lift :1: :1:
  11. thx Manny, I'll attempt this this weekend....ur right the instruction translations, they leave alot to be desired ... why these arent fitted as standard god only knowes as most manufactures fit these (ps does the vRS come with anti-hijacking c/l as standard? just had this enabled aswell....keep forgetting and it sounds like youve just been shot at when it locks!!)
  12. Rob, Would it not be prudent to rename the subject title to just The Northern Meet if you want to use just one thread?? Ian
  13. Anyone fitted the vinyl door pillar trims, as the instructions mention removing the wiping horizontal seal, er and i'm not the worlds greatest DIYer  so need some advice on how to remove them. Thanks Ian
  14. Reading this thread with interest, as i find the suspension on my estate is very soft. I visited the msport site but found several versions of springs for the estate, so what do the differences mean in regard to ride quality??? ( i thought on the lines of amounts of force to compress the springs??) Eibach Pro Kit (4 lowering springs) for: Skoda Octavia Estate >1030 kg (ref. 10-79-002-02-22) Skoda Octavia Estate >940 kg (ref. 7908.140) Skoda Octavia Estate >990 kg (ref. 7909.140) cheers
  15. Oh to have the extra space the central armrest gives... The thing i miss the most on my octavia (ambiente) is storage space...cant put anything ontop of the dash, with it being curved, you've got the very very small storage bin, that just holds my pda and one cubby hole. Get rid of the cup/bottle holders that what i say.... and give us more nick knack space. Hmm the center rest is available from Butts @
  16. nearly crapped myself when i saw the subject....LOL nice one day late n a dollar short....
  17. I've just got a 2nd user Octavia, and wondered about the manual air con lighting at night. Only the a/c and recirc buttons are lit, surely the rotary controls should be backlit as well???? thanks Ian
  18. Alot of VW ppl swear by either Zymol or Swissol products, summat to do with the way they are made with carnauba wax. You clean the car with a clenser first then apply the wax, and gives excellent results apparently. Be aware that both products are quite/very expensive, Zymol sell starter kits for about
  19. I remember seeing a police....stop....camera type programe a few weeks ago, and it showed a Dutch speeding camera. It was covertly hidden inside a wheelie bin on the side of the road!!!
  20. Oh how i laughed when i saw this mod on a golf forum http://213.196.3.135/uk-mkivs/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7029 It seems one of them really resented having to go to a Skoda dealer
