  2. Welcome Chris, I'm glad you found your way here! "Warrior" (my nickname for it the car!) looks lovely by the seaside.

No outstanding finance. I bought this car almost a year ago (on 83,500 miles) as a stop gap, whilst I restored a mk1 Octavia. I needed something reliable and comfortable for up to 6 months for my commute, but it was such a lovely motor I was in no rush to get my mk1 up and running! Car has been very well maintained and cared for by a member of the Skoda Owners Club. It has never wanted for anything. Viewings (no groups) and test drives welcome (upon proof of insurance). Condition: Excellent. The interior is immaculate and the exterior, minus a few marks, is superb for a car of its age and miles. Bad points; · Some stone chips. To be expected for a car of its age, which has done most of its mileage on the motorway. · A few marks on the body. Again, nothing out of line with a car of its age. · Original alloys have a few scuffs and need two new tyres. Service History/Receipts/Recent Service work: Full service history and stack of receipts. 4. I actually took them to the coaters yesterday. I'll post pics when they return ( couple of weeks).
  5. I think white wheels would look amazing on a yellow vRS. I've considered it myself quite a few times! Here's mine. I absolutely love this car!
  6. I do! Doh, I missed it off! Hey Mike. I don't use a drying aid, but I'm fortunate to live in a soft water area. If I still lived in Suffolk, I definitely would do! Spotting and streaking was a nightmare, there, especially in summer. You could barely do a full panel of contact wash without having to jet blast it and dry before moving on. Cheers
  7. Hey all I've changed up my routine a little, based on some tips I've picked up (from random YouTube vids and the Detailing Central group on Facebook). Process (new in BOLD, removed stage strike out) Jet wash alloys, wheel arches and cills Spray alloys with AutoGlym Custom Wheel Cleaner & contact clean with Gyeon wheel brush Jet wash to rinse wheels Jet wash to loosen dirt up on body Snow foam (AD purple velvet) Jet wash rinse 2 bucket method wash (Sonax gloss - still using this and liking it. Exceptional value) Alloy clean (Gtechniq W6 Iron & General Fallout Remover then a general wash with the remaining Sonax shampoo) Dry (my trusty 10 year old woolly mammoth towel. Still going strong) Tyre dressing (AutoGlym Tyre Gel). Here's "Warrior" later on that evening, shining even on a dull day. I'm still loving the Vega alloys, they really suit this car and colour I think. Cheers
  8. Looks great! Speaking of winter prep, I really need to get a wax coat on my mk3 ready for the months ahead. Hopefully this weekend!
  9. Good tip, cheers. Did it knacker the soldering iron doing that?
  10. I'm pretty sure that's a retrofit. They weren't an option listed in the UK brochure, to my knowledge, but I guess they could have been offered in other regions and added to a RHD car afterwards.
  11. I'm currently taking apart door cards and trying to solve the sagging problem. Eventually I'll have to get around to reattaching the centre section and, if I find a solution, I'll report it back here!
  12. Whilst true in most circumstances, I'm not sure how many people have the set up to redo plastic welds!
  13. Exactly. It might not be my daily, but it'll be driven at least weekly. The gloss white powder coat finish looks absolutely great too!
  14. The white ones from the WRC. Although they won't be OEM candy white, they'll be much more durable.
  15. I've just chosen to go with PC over a regular spray. The final result is more consistent and durable, which wins over picking a very specific colour (for me). It's also quite reasonable, price wise.
  16. I think quite a bit of that might need updating, @DeanVRS20VT. The most recent version, on the last page of this thread, is significantly different. Thanks for adding me
  17. Yeah, but it has fetched 4k+ on both occasions that it has been auctioned this year. That amazes me, tbh! PS - when do I get put on the register? 😉 And, yes, I mean the WRC one...I've done nothing to warrant inclusion on any other!!
  18. I've reglued the pipe so it fills the connector and sealed both sides with a little silicon. I think the problem with your suggestion might be that the pressure of the cable tie could be uneven, forcing the connector into an oval shape and creating potential gaps.
  19. Another big gap between posts for me! I've been doing my regular washes to keep on top of the Octavias, but a lot of time has been spent fixing various bits and pieces rather than detailing. That said, a 3rd Octavia has arrived and it's absolutely disgusting! I've tidied up a few things already, but it's going to take some time to fully clean and restore this beast; Halfway point on the engine bay; For anyone interested, I'm documenting the full restoration of the WRC car on Instagram Right, back to a leaky sunroof on the mk3, replacing ARB bushes on General Custard and cleaning up powersteering fluid leaks from the new arrival!
  20. Thanks for the suggestion. All drain's have been cleared and tested - no issue there. I'm 90% sure it's the gap evident in the white connector between the pipe and the drip tray.
  21. Thanks Ken. Is the problem with the pics from my post, or your device? If it was a blockage, with no leaks from the run-off pipe or loose connections, would it be logical to conclude that water would back up in the pipe and cause an overflow at the source (the hole it drains from in the sunroof drip tray)? If so, I would expect water to be evident in the roof liner itself, which is completely dry.
  22. Hey all About 3 weeks ago I noticed a lot of condensation in the rear of my Octavia and that, after exploring further, the rear passenger seat and footwell was soaked and that the spare wheel well was a swimming pool. The car was parked facing uphill, with a lean towards the passenger side. I cleared out the water and parked it facing downhill, leaning towards the driver's side, and after heavy rainfall there was no repeat of the water ingress. A few water tests later confirmed that water was leaking in from the sunroof (passenger rear corner); the headliner was staying dry and water was somehow running down the C-pillar, over the wheel arch (but under the plastic cover) and collecting UNDER the rear seat. The water build up was then so great that it filled the recess where the seatbelt receivers are bolted in and eventually ran over and into the boot (hence the filled spare wheel well). Having loosened the headliner to explore what the issue was, I came across this. I think this is potentially the cause - the pipe doesn't completely fill the connector. Has anyone encountered this before? When it is fitted, do you think the connection will force the pipe into it's correct place and form an adequate seal? When feeling around, the connector and pipe felt strangely greasy. Further along the pipe I encountered this; it's like tape, but absolutely covered in something greasy/tar like. Is this evidence of a previous bodge to fix the issue, or is it in there from factory? Could it have been a glue that has melted over the summer? Thanks for reading this far. Any suggestions on how I can fix the leak would be greatly received! Best wishes Danny
