  1. I found the noise of the 1.9TDI is easily dealt with by installing a Kenwood headunit!
  2. I'll be ordering Bosch ones asap too. Fronts only though, as the back is fine IMO.
  3. OK, i started on the silver trim bits. The two small bits behind the steering wheel were easy to prise off, but the section above the glove box is connected differently! I've discovered this by breaking one of the clips that screws into it. Doh! So, how do I get this thing off without destroying my car!? The door cards sound like a real pain in the ass to do...I think I'll tackle them on a day I'm feeling especially patient!
  4. Yeah, tacky. Not nearly as nice as my furry valve caps.
  5. A few weeks on... ...I'm starting to get the same problems Mike pointed out above. The rear one is fine, but the fronts are now starting to overshoot and click when I'm wiping in the fastest setting. Doh!
  6. Yeah, that's a really handsome motor. The choice of wheels has convinced me that the TSW Galvez ones I've been looking at will suit my hatchback too.
  7. Hey all Is there a difference between the springs on a VRS compared to standard models? Cheers Danny
  8. I've ordered the Fabia rear badge now. I had the citigo one over the recess, but it doesn't sit right at the top and bottom due to the boot shape. Oh well.
  9. Sadly, as suspected, Burnley and Preston are too far for the genie...
  10. Did this many years ago on an old car, hanging out football scarves on the way to and from a match, It made a right mess, so I feel your pain here!
  11. He's calling back today to give me a quote
  12. just a shame they don't produce them in a much larger size. Having said that, I think the unit can only handle so many directories, so 32GB is probably as good as it gets. I also find the sound is better when you can change the EQ settings of both the iPod and Kenwood unit too, which you obviously can't do on a USB stick.
  13. Aye, Nick's car is nice. I do like that - not over the top at all.
  14. Good find. I've been thinking of getting one myself.
  15. Oh, the centre ceiling hit...got ya. Hmm, I like that as it is TBH. Cheers for the offer though kbphoto.
  16. I didn't this until recently either, and had a tendency to press the fob multiple times 'just to make sure'. Doh!
  17. Neither make a particularly good replacement for oil in your engine.
  18. Yeah, if I sit at 65-67 on the motorway using cruise and don't boot it when accelerating, I easily get 60MPG+ on my 35min trip to work.
  19. I went for the 1.9 TDI for reliability and the fact that it's so economical. Haven't been let down thus far, touch wood. Four and a half years of happy (mainly motorway) driving.
  20. OK, it's done! I love Briskoda and I love MikeHolroyd! That guide was spot on and after simply blowing the sensors and connectors, it's all up and running again. So glad Skoda were denied the opportunity to sting me for £180+ ...although I'm sure they'll get me again one day soon!
  21. That thread was great, cheers. I've got a few options to try now. Thanks guys, I'll report back asap.
  22. OK, cheers. I read the other thread too and i think mine is a sensor issue. No siren goes off, but neither does the hazards.
  23. Thanks for the offer. I'll give the fuse suggestion a whirl and then go from there. Welsh_kai, was it the sensor that was replaced on yours?
