  1. yer but thats splash and dash stuff mate, used to know loads of people that used millers and it did nothing, just lots of blue and black smoke as it took away all the deposits, and even causing erratic idling :(
  2. IF I HAD KIDS For me my car is a labour of love. That little peep glance moving the curtains look before you go to bed, and that is my car still there in the morning look as you put the curtains back into place. And am sure am not the only one (I hope...) I dont have a child but if I did I would care what goes into it. No MSG, Artifical colours and flavourings etc. So I take that same approach when It comes to my car, Oil and fuel. (Yes I am a sad case!) So when there came an option of putting something claiming to be better that the first thing I jumped at the chance. All coming to light when I was filling my car up with bobby bob o fuel I noticed a leaflet for this magic ribena cocktail. Better MPG? Better BHP? Better Torque? Less Noise? More Responsive and Less CO2? This can only bring me in mind of goverment making lots of claims that sound very impressive and once you commit, your left short changed, feeling used and stupid. So are these claims justified, or is it another case of the above. WHATS IT ALL ABOUT Now if you know your onions and wear an anarak or you just dont care, you can ether skip this section or.... fluffy kittens - Google Images :thumbup:Here are some fluffy kitten pictures to amuse you for a few minutes. However if you are intrested and can tell people at you next dinner party the claims of alternative premium fuel then read on my prettys! First off certane level is one of the things you should be looking for, and it gives you good idea of the quality your dealing with. In a nutshell the number relates to the igintion delay, this is from the start of fuel injection and the start of combustion. What you should be looking for in "good combustian" is a very fast iginition with a complete and smooth full fuel burn. So at the other end of spectrum a low certane level with give you a slow igination and the fuel will burn far more rapidly and far less complete. All this adds up to in theory, more engine noise, more engine vibration, more emissions and generally not do the engine much good. A more common visual check is "my car smogging when I floor it test". Going back to certane levels, most supermarket fuels are well below 51. BP claims to have anything no less than 55 (can be more) Dont get this mixed up with "Octane" in petrol. The other issue with basic fuel is the lack of a cleaning agent, most other fuels when they burn will leave deposits in your engine and your injectors, or as my mum would say "bad stuff" BP claim to have fixed this issue and cleans as you drive. They also claim to have a rust protection formula in the fuel as well. Now truthfully as am typing this am watching Jeremy Kyle, and am getting very distracted so am going to leave it at that, if you want more info have a check on there webby link below. BP Ultimate UK HOW I DID IT My car was an ex demo and had been running on A5DA fuel so the first thing that needed to be done was run the tank dry (scary when you have your fuel light on all the time) as the car claimed to have 30miles left in the tank I began adding five quids worth of this new bp fuel. Now all the above considered and going back to having kids. It was almost like weening your kids off breast milk and putting them strait on Jack Daniels and Red Bull mixed together! Doing my fiver trick for 200miles followed then by fifteen quids worth in the tank and letting that run all the way down until 20miles, I was satisfied that there was no more A5DA breast milk left in my car...I mean Fuel. I hope you also agree this was a fare way to go about things. It did not appeal to me to run the engine out of fuel and then have it bleeded with the new fuel, I dont have that equipment or time :P. BIG QUESTION IS IT ANY GOOD? All excited with what I had been told and watching on "Dave" a fifth gear review with promosing results, the extra cost seemed to be worth it. And after over six thousand miles with it in and can say with full confidence. YES! It is worth every penny and then some! This stuff is the daddy! As soon as put my 2nd tank full in I noticed the car was running alot quieter and alot more smoother. The cars smog had cut down massively and the car felt wonderful, pulling strongly threw all the gears with a much faster and sharper throttle response. Mpg was down tho going down on average by 2mpg, but I drive around the city so its all traffic lights and what not, but am going on a long holiday drive shortly so I will update and let you know how it gets on. Dont treat this option like redex or millers, I know plenty of people that put a splash and a dash in, and claim the results are minimal. Some cars show an improvment strait away, you should stop using what you are currently using and just fill up with nothing else but this. The more miles you put on the car with this in will help massively. Were in an enviroment were money is tight and saving pennys here and there all ads up. Not in this case splash the extra cash! It really is worth leaving the breast milk and going strait on to the Jack Daniels and Red Bull, I will name It "Red Jack" HOW MUCH IT COST ME I Dont know..... GOOD AND THE BAD +Lower Noise Levels +Its Stopped Shaking! +Better Pull Threw The Gears +Less Smog +Stealth Mod :P +Better In The Long Run? -Could Be Expensive In The Long Run -Takes Time Feel Full Goodness! OVERALL TXIXC Rating 4/5 P.S. Missed my review on the PD160 intake find out my findings with it on this cracking little derv engine below. Again sorry if there is spelling mistakes http://briskoda.net/fabia-ii/my-review-pd160-intake-1-4tdi/154071/
  3. nice one mate, my dad was the same with his vrs, we had a neighbour who baught a proper flash bmw, and wanted everyone to know about it, my dads usualy a slow driver, but he destroyed him once when he was around our country roads following, and even down the A610 he was struggling. My dad needed a book for all the people that tried it on with him
  4. that strutbrace looks like a pig to fit, has it helped at all?
  5. I agree with you on that, I also found my car ran alot quieter when run with bp ultiamte (review coming soon from me )
  6. what dealer did you go to mate, they sound fantastic.....uh
  7. dont think anyone has done anywork on there cars like this mate :(
  8. depends if what style of driving you have felica11, for resale value toys = added value. Of what ive heard the 1.2 is a good little engine, but of course the 1.4 is stronger. Hopefully a few people on the forum will get in toach for this thread on there opions of owning ether engine, but the way things stand go for the nicer trim level. But i would recommend a 1.4TDi Sport with red with a white roof
  9. yer mate mine ticks over about 900 1k rpm, cant say ive seen mine go over that, and at moment am getting 55.1mpg but thats with a good amount of right foot action. also depends on how many miles your cars done i drove one that had done 7k miles more than mine, and i was over 58mpg
  10. go for eibach set mate, much lower stance as well anything up to 40mm couple of people on here have it.
  11. Ox thank you so much man, my cars red with a white roof, am actually shocked... they look really nice might look better with skoda centre caps rather than lambo ones, might look odd at teh back with drums tho But they do look good thanks again my man much appreciated
  12. bear in mind felicia11 if you go for the hyundai as well as your servicing you have to pay for body inspections to retain the 5year warranty which is bit naughty as you have to pay for it. So rember that extra cost mate if you sway to the hyundai
  13. has to be a brand new car to have the scrappage incentive with it sadly! The hyundai of what ive heard is a cracking little car, i certainly wouldnt turn my nose at one, have you had a spin in one mate?
  14. best thing to do is ignore the private sale, go in for the scrappage if you meet the criteria, that will get you a good base, and there is plenty of 0% apr deals available, expect a waiting period anything up to 6weeks or higher for a fabia. A higher grade of fabia trims holds its value alot better than the base levels, and careful on you engine choice the 1.4tdi with the low tax bracket is usualyl around £500 more in the resale stakes than the 1.9, crazy i know. In regards to car choice there is plenty available, i personally love my fabia and i have never reggreted buying it
  15. I asked my dealer before i baught mine, he was pretty sure it was just the software, but then again most salesmen dont really no that much, i plumped for the pd80
  16. this will bring on my next part? if anyone will lend there photoshop skills :P
  17. well the idea was to do something diffrent the other idea was.... http://www.vitula.webz.cz/galerie/scout/scout1.jpg which look fantastic and in a 17"
  18. 18" GALLARDO ALLOY WHEELS SKODA FABIA OCTAVIA on eBay (end time 05-Sep-09 18:27:56 BST) Ok saw these and my pants got a little tight.... Does everyone think these would look spot on, on my mk2 fabia, the car needs a drop which is to come, red calipers and black painted drums as well. Thats for another day but. With the top mods in mind, will these look ok, with lambo centre caps or is it a matter of "No you own a skoda yes its part of the VAG bin of parts but your taking it to far like reall.....no... like no... dont.. really dont...i think ive made my point" or "yer go for it" Am very much a fan of ill do what makes me happy however! All thoughts are welcome, any age, anyone please comment much love :P
  19. not really a mk2 vrs? has 25bhp less, alot less torque, different gear ratios and minus a 6th gear
  20. Good tidy job fitting them, look nice in the night as well, but think i perfer the fogs rather than the led strip.
