  1. I had my BluRay player HDMI out connected to my AV amp HDMI in, then another HDMI from the amp to the TV.

I borrowed the HDMI cable that was betwixt the amp and the TV to check the PS3 was working OK upstairs on the new TV.

I've now plugged the Same HDMI cable back into the slots that it was originally plugged into on the TV and the Amp, but can't get a signal.

I've tried unplugging it, switching everything off then plugging it back in and switching the three appliances on in various sequences but to no avail. I know that HDMI works from these digital handshake efforts, but do you know of the correct sequence to get the AV equipment to work again?

  2. Try not to spill tea on it if you possibly can. Mine has recovered now, but it was touch and go...

I recommend the VLC player app so you can load your own movie files onto it via pietunes.

Osmos is a great game, kept me amused for hours.

another good un is Salem Witch Trials, hidden object adventure game, expensive and too short but great.

The KORG apps are fantastic if you like dabbling with electronic beats, but again, expensive.

Friendly for Facebook is about the best Ipad FB app, but costs 59p

The EA sports games for the ipad are pretty good, especially the racing games.

  3. I also have the S570 as an upgrade from my trusty PS3. I can agree with everything Amanda says about it. The only niggle is that it's not a lot quieter than the PS3 in terms of the fan so quiet atmospheric scenes can suffer from fan intrusion.

The 570 has 1GB of internal RAM in order to assist in booting the newfangled blu ray discs up faster. Seems to work like but don't know how.

So far watched Book of Eli on it and the picture is commendable. A definite improvement over PS3

  4. emoticon-0106-crying.gif to see but if that's come of the road and turned or even rolled over (and gone down a bank), then the old beast appears to have stood up well :wonder:

Looks like an early 1.2TSI from the floor-pan shot.

    TP

Yes it belonged to an elderly gent who climbed out of the windscreen aperture with nowt but a scratch on his foreheed. A good car to have a crash in methinks.

It was a combination of a wet unlit country road, a 90 degree bend, and an unfenced farmers field on a slope.

  5. The RenaultSport Clio has kicked hot hatch ass for a number of years now, and rightly so because of the sublime pin sharp handling. The DS3R is being tipped as just as good if not better than the Clio handling wise.

You can't really compare a warm hatch like the new Fab vRS with it's temperamental DSG box against the French machines. The VAG offerings are probably the better option for a comfortable every day car, but as a small fast car, the Clio and DS3R would murder the new vRS every day of the week.

The original fab vRS would need a few grands worth of modifications to keep up.

  6. The Honda FR V springs to mind. Not too ungainly and designed to sit 3 abreast in the front and the rear. Plus Honda reliability and residuals, which is the sticking point. The cheapest ones on auto trader are between 4.5 and 5 K so may be out of your price range. Still a decent car though.

  7. As an update, I ended up buying this from Amazon,

    Panasonic sd60

The price seems to have gone up. I paid £275 in December, maybe the VAT increase has taken effect.

Unfortunately I can't tell you if it's any good as the bloody SD card I ordered from Play.com is stil MIA after 2 weeks! It's very small though, so small I managed to fit into my old Lowe Pro camera case that I kept my old Sony digital camera.

  8. We Brits always get the pronunciation of foreign names wrong. It's because we can't be @rsed to learn any foreign languages. And on the most part we don't have to as everyone else speaks English.

Is it Byork or is it Byurk?

    Koniggsegg or kurniggsegg?

    Monaco or Munarco?

    Purzhow or Pyoozhow (Peugeot)

    Etc.....

  9. Thanks mate.

No misfires, it sometimes struggles to start when cold. The fuel economy is rubbish right now though. It should be a lot better IMO, although it is quite a heavy car for the puny engine.

I see a used petrol Fabia vRS on the horizon.....

  10. Swmbo's Polo is poorly just now. It's a 55 plate with a 1.2 three cylinder engine.

The engine emissions light has come on and it cuts all power above 4k revs in all gears. Someone has suggested it may be the cat on the way out.

During the snowy period I did try and drive it through 2 feet of snow and there was a trail of green liquid stuff left behind on the snow afterwards. Oops.

Anyone know whether this is a cheap thing or an expensive thing? I know, I should take it to the garage and find out properly.....

  11. Saw this game on the app store and it looked kinda weird. It bloody well is! It's all based on sound and can be quite scary as your imagination does all the work.

I'm enjoying it very much so far, but need to find my noise cancelling earbuds as the apple ones are crap. You need good headphones to play this game. Also available on Android!

  12. My alarm didn't go off for work this morning but luckily I woke up automatically at 6 am so not a problem...

Got to work and a few folk were late due to same problem. I've just tested the alarm again and it's still not working. I'm running the latest iOS firmware and it's the oem clock app supplied with the phone.

So using an app from the app store now, which works, to get me up tomorrow.

Seems an upgrade is required to fix it....

    Wake up!!!!

  13. Reverse is triangle ...as in top button on the diamond

Hold and hit the gas and you go backwards lol

Merci bien! I've been wragging the gearstick about, stamping ont clutch and shouting Bstard at the top of me voice. Your method is far superior!

I must admit I've spent longer ripping tracks and messing about with the playlists than I have spent racing. Lol
