  1. Yeah, ive read that a few people have had it turned down, i am wondering if it would be worth cleaning the valve out first? I suppose I would need to find someone in the durham area with a vagcom..
  2. it takes roughly £40 to brim it - Is it likely to be the actual valve or the electrical (solenoid?) that controls it thats on its way out?
  3. Hi, no fault codes - car seems quite thirsty at the mo anout 400-450 miles per tank, also seems quite slow as well - no smoke at all out of it.
  4. The whistle is really loud, my previous 150pd toledo never sounded like that, the bit that confuses me is that it just completely switches off at 3k, no gradual change.
  5. OK, so EGR valve is a possibility, The car is a 2006 with only 14k on the clock, quite a low mileage for this to go? Is the whistleing turbo only between 2 and 3k normal also? CHeers
  6. Hi all, I was wondering if any of you guys noticed the same engine behaviour on the vrs as I do with my 130tdi cordoba. With the car in neutral, very slowly increase the revs, at about 2000rpm i can hear the turbo whistling when it gets to about 2100rpm with the foot held steady the revs oscilate a little maybe by about 25rpm. increasing the revs slowly till 3000rpm the turbo whistle just stops and there is no sign of it after that. Is this normal behaviour for the 130tdi? Any comments greatly appreciated.
  7. Hi all, I was wondering where you guys though the best place to advertise my car for sale would be, when we sold our VRS it was traded so we didnt have to worry bout it.
  8. this is all very interesting... So did all manufacturers or just Skoda and just on the VRS overestimate the 0-60 times for some reason?
  9. if it has a book of 7.9 to 60, then its most probably a 320D? or 120D? more probably the latter? But then im sure more dremers will be along and say, the VRS is "actually" much less than 9.5, nearer 8 as the VW group just decided to to make it look slower on paper, but didnt do this with any other models.
  10. Im with Rico on this one im affraid. It appears some vrs owners claim the 0-60 time is less than published. "my VRS is much faster than 9.5, So would this then be the case for other vw/group cars like the 130 golfs, which would make sense if these claims were plausable. Also, comments like the 150PD TDI is no quicker than the VRS's 130 as it has a larger turbo, now, i happen to have bought a 150PD TDI seat, which in my opinion is much quicker than the VRS we owned. So, playing devils advocate, i would ask is the 130vrs any quicker than say a 115 or 110 golf? I mean to be honest, of all the cars ive owned in the last 10 years, ive never seen an online forum where claims like the above are made.
  11. Yeah, i think thats a bit far fetched too, quite comical tho
  12. sorry if this has been posted already, but what was the part number of the kit thats fitted to the rear brakes of the VRS o stop them making that awful noise when reversing, also what dealers have fitted these, as my local dealer is unaware of the kit at all. Thanks Chris
  13. the last i heard of this was that some1 had contacted the police!! i wonder if they investigated?
  14. Is the mysterious VRS back again? Item number: 4531242996
