  1. look very Polo ish to me Prefer the current one
  2. I've replaced the standard tweeter with Genesis ones, but the were the same size, so just sat in the mounting nicely, a blog of gluegun glue holds them in. To get the cable through I made a hole in the grommit just below the multiplug on the car side and made a little slit in the rubber tubing to allow the cable in. Not the neatest, i'm jealous
  3. Could put a resisitor in-line with the LEDS, but then the LED's maybe darker.
  4. There's a manual release handle next to the fuel filler lever in mine, have you tried that?
  5. There's a thread at the top of the Fabia page that should help you on this.
  6. I'd use the stuff that they use in the garage, I bought some Quantum stuff this morning from my Skoda dealer
  7. Right a few more detials, Nothing on the car has changed in the last few months, everthing is standard, except the PD160 inlet which has been fitted for 12mths. I have been regulally using normal Sainsbury's Diesel, and BP Ultimate as a one off (which showed no difference at all). I do the same route to work every day which is 13miles and about 50:50 motorway and urban, it usually takes 45mins in the morning and around 25 at night. I do have a heavy foot, but managed 42mpg regually on the same route and same driving style. There is one stretch of road which is a long steepish uphill run, before i could reach 105mph quite easily, but now I stuggle to reach and sustain 95. Finally I've not used the AC for a while because it has been too cold for it to work properly, and I've taken my sub box out which weighed around 60kgs which, in theory, should help. I noticed this morning that if i turn the cabin temperature to minimum and turn the fan off the gauge will rise to around 1/4 in traffic, but drop again when moving. Thanks for the discussion and help people, but I'll ring the garage tommorrow and ask them to check over the ECU for errors, and change the Thermostat. Has anyone got a Thermostat change guide?
  8. Are you after the whole arm? I got a new rubber and framework for £4.06 for my Fabia last week Much better than Ford's £12 for a Ka's
  9. My car's average Mpg on a tank was usually around the 42mark, but recently I've seen it drop to around 35mpg. i've not changed anything on the car and all the fluid levels are fine. I also not noticed any lose in power or performance, nor has any warning lights come on. I have noticed though that the raditator is always stone cold and the temperature gauge very rarely rises over the minimum mark, even if I'm sat in traffic or drive it hard. A guy at work suggested it could be some pipework which is leaking or the MAF sensor is faulty. Should I go to the garage and ask them to look at it? Or is it just down to the cold weather? Cheers
  10. Cheers for that, I'll Email to work for printing
  11. I'm planning on doing a mid service oil change, as I'm not always the gentlist driver and want to keep the car in good shape. I've had a look on here and couldn't find a guide on how to change the oil. I've changed it on other cars before, but haven't changed a Diesel or a Turbo'd car before. I presume it is just the same. Does anyone know what part numbers I need, ie. Filter and sump plug (if new one is recommended) etc. Lastly has anyone got hints on how to change the oil, such as how to access the filter, how to remove the undertray, how tight to do the sump back up, how much oil to put in etc.etc. Thanks
  12. http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,12930-1963709,00.html But we all know its good already
  13. I got some Marshalls from a guy a work of £110 a pair, after I had a puncture. Personally I think their better than the Michelin Primacy (£125each) that they came with.
  14. There would have been a greater chance for grit and dust to get through the turbo and into the engine's cylinders. I wouldn't worry too much.
  15. Mines pants at the moment, On a long hill (private road ) on the way to work I can usually get 105mph without a problem, I've struggled to keep at 95 this week. I'm also averaging 35mpg compared to the usuall 42 :( Does the car limit the power when cold as the temp guage hasn't moved at all.
  16. Well it was just a thought, I think i'll stop with the stupid questions, I just find it so annoying sometimes at the moment, the roads are very greasy near work due to a building site. The Puma trick is actually done to deactivate the traction control which runs off the same system (power is only 85% in 1st & 2nd to limit slip more) BTW, when the ABS does come on when its needed, should you press harder, let off or keep the same?
  17. Because it is skidding, ie trying to stop to quick. In heavy snow it is better to lock the wheels and then plough in to the snow making 'chocs' to stop you rather than sliding over the top
  18. P4 3000ghz, 512Ram £300 thank you DELL
  19. It's annoying in snow! I can live with it, just wanted to try it.
  20. Sometimes, I find it really annoying, and want to try it with it off. On my friends Puma, you can just take the fuse out, which is what a specialist recommended. The Fabia has a much complicated computer and would probably throw up error messages
  21. I blew the fuse on mine when checking the voltage with a multimeter
  22. I don't think the computer works under 5mph or in reverse. I've crawled in traffic and it hasn't started to register. Not looked in reverese. Other thing. How do you know that the pump is always reading accurately?
  23. I used my first until the battery went flat after around a year, then moved on to the second. The first still works as I needed it yesterday because I locked the keys in
  24. I have bumped started my pd100 with out any difficulty, it was parked on a slope aprrox 1:10, rolled it about 3 metres and used 3rd gear. Just drop the clutch back down as soon as it fires. Don't know what damage it might do though.
