  1. Is there still space for the group buy? And how much would we be getting it for?
  2. Well I've fitted 100w bulbs into mine (had blue coated 4500k 'colour match' bulbs before) and it is MUCH brighter (even more so than the 55w nightbreakers in my sisters Fabia) although it is a lot more yellow. IMO you won't find any bulbs that will match HID's for colour. Does it really matter as 95% of the time no one will see your full beams?
  3. May I ask what brand, wattage they are? And where did you buy from? Any specific brand or just ebay jobbies?
  4. Did you have to do any sort of rewiring to use them or was it just plug and play?
  5. Yeh they're the ones with the blue coating, don't know why I bought them tbh they're absolutely crap. I've never been flashed for having HID's, even when I got pulled for my MOT running out they didn't even mention the lights, its also passed two MOT's with no problems. If the rules change I'll take them out. Simples. Still not sure whether to go with 100w or just Osram Nightbreakers for the main beam though, do you think there will be a big difference? i'm not bothered about colour any more just output.
  6. Is anyone running 100w bulbs in their fabia? I've got H3 'colour match 4500k' bulbs in at the mo and compared to the HID's I have they are shocking. I want the brightest option available without fitting another HID kit. However I'm not sure if the 100w bulbs will melt the lens?
  7. After looking at the prices I've decided to go with Turbo Centre UK, £540 + my knackered PD130 for a standard PD150. I don't plan on going over 200bhp anytime soon as I haven't got the money for an uprated clutch, intercooler etc so this is probably the best option for me. The bloke on the phone mentioned something about blanking off the EGR valve? is this necessary on my 2004 ASZ engine?
  8. Yep went to the garage today and the turbos gone, cars done 80k miles (about 8k-ish on a remap) and it does get driven hard. Going to go hybrid but not sure where to buy from? and PD130 or PD150?
  9. This has now escalated to something more serious - driving along the motorway and started to hear a faint whining sound, came off the motorway and it got worse, whenever I try to accelerate it just whines really loudly and I have no power. Is this the sign of a dead turbo? I've had the boost pipes come off twice this year but this time I cant see anything out of place. Any help would be much appreciated.
  10. About the fifth time its happened in a year, for some reason every now and then (mainly in the morning) I'll drive the car for maybe a mile and just as im about to go on the power it will go into 'limp' mode where I get a massive loss of power and the car struggles. If I pull over and switch it off then on again it will be fine. Any reason why this happens?
  11. +1 I'm on supersports 55mm springs with standard shocks and it bounces all over the place. Handles a lot better though.
  12. It's not THAT much louder, just a deeper exhaust note and more turbo whistling. It's only when you give it the beans that you really hear it properly. All IMHO of course.
  13. If I didn't have a vRS already I would have this in a heartbeat... Swap for mine? Lol http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/194271-my-fabia-vrs/page__p__2432591#entry2432591 Does it have any engine mods?
  14. My new badges have been sitting in the garage for months, how do you get the original badge off? (the grill one and the boot one)
  15. Interesting I had the complete opposite experience, only really makes a loud noise when giving it the beans and I found it a smidge faster along with a slightly improved throttle response (whether any of this actually has happened is another story lol).
  16. Look alright to me, just not sure on the quality although with a 12 month warranty you can't really go wrong I suppose. Will wait for someone else to take the plunge first though
  17. Anyone bought/fitted a set of these from Awesome? http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=33438&xSec=286 Seem very cheap for a pair of headlamps?
  18. FINALLY fitted some 55mm supersport lowering springs and here is the result: Admittedly the ride is a little on the bumpy side (ok very bumpy lol) but I got them for a very good price and I'm happy with how it looks. Can also go round corners a lot better than before and hopefully the addition of a rarb will help with that.
  19. If the turbo has gone, is it worth getting a hybrid 130/150 or stick with a standard 130? What are the price differences between the two? I don't plan on uprating the clutch at this stage so I don't really want more than 180BHP/300 Torque
  20. Checked all the pipes, no holes or splits, disconnected and reconnected what I could reach, still no joy :( Strangely, starting it this morning there was very little smoke even when I took it for a test drive. Also still very jerky, car cant seem to make its mind up whether it wants to boost or not. It'll be going to the garage on Monday.
  21. Yeh I jacked the car up, (undertray is missing anyway but thats another story) everything looks as normal. I rattled all the pipes I could see, how loose does it need to be before the car would begin to lose power? Shall I take a pic?
  22. Driving home today, booted it in second, car stuttered, **** load of black smoke and loss of power (bit of a bang but not very loud), drove the rest of the way at about 20mph with tons of black smoke and a very jerky ride. Looking at the smoke when I got home it seems to be black with a hint of blue in it - does this sound like a blown turbo? I've also looked at all the boost hoses (one of which has come off before) and they all seem intact. Is there anything else I can do to confirm its a blown turbo?
  23. Try £1500 a year I actually found MoreThan to be one of the cheapest (21, 0 no claims, 1 accident - write off) they also payout VERY well.
  24. Also interested in these. Are they RHD?
