  1. Just got the new style vRS badges for boot and grille. 1. How do you get either of them off? 2. What do I use to stick the new ones on? Pictures would be helpful.
  2. I need a new track rod end for my 2004 Skoda Fabia vRS but not sure if its KOYO or TRW? How can I find out which one I have?
  3. Admiral or moreThan. Both quoted me around the £1000 mark, by far the cheapest insurance quote I had at 19. You won't get any lower at that age. Stick your mum or dad on the policy for a cheaper quote.
  4. Black all day long: and before anyone says, yes I know it needs to go lower!
  5. I paid £320, sounds like a very good price to me. Your insurance will probably go up (I have yet to inform mine :p )
  6. Heres mine, standard suspension, Audi S3 Avus Alloys in Gloss Black:
  7. Angel Tuning. Anyone know how difficult it is to fit lowering springs?
  8. Where can I get some vRS wheel centre cap stickers? My ones are looking very tatty. I'm sure there's someone on here who does them?
  9. I done a whole thread on it here: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/191200-mufflerectomy-intake-replacement/page__p__2281563__hl__mufflerectomy__fromsearch__1#entry2281563 Personally I think its my favourite mod so far. Gives off a lot more turbo spool and a nice deep exhaust note (but not too much that its annoying, its only really when you give it the beans that you get the full effect).
  10. The springs I bought off you are next to be fitted!
  11. Now I've started down the slippery slope of modding I thought I'd start a thread for my Fabia vRS. Comments Welcome 2004 Silver Skoda Fabia vRS 1.9 TDI (170bhp approx.) Current Mods: 17" Audi S3 Avus Alloys in gloss black 6000k HID's LED Sidelights Black Grille Mufflerectomy (Twin Tip) Plans for future: GO LOWER RARB 312mm Brakes 'Big Mouth' Front End
  12. 1 Word - WOW. Had it done by Angel Tuning, £250, they came to me and after about 45 mins I was all set. Car now pulls all the way to the red line and wheel spins in 1st and 2nd if I'm not careful. Its also a lot smoother to drive, and hopefully I will be seeing an increase in MPG. How long the clutch/turbo will last, who knows but hey you can't have everything right? Highly recommended to anyone with a vRS.
  13. 37MPG is very low for a vRS, I get approx 45MPG and that's driving it like a tit for about 30% of the time. Maybe you should put the money towards sorting out your fuel consumption before considering any mods? Having said that, mines booked in for a remap on Friday which I am looking forward to A LOT.
  14. Why people pay £90 for a piece of plastic is beyond me. Fair enough if you want it looking OEM, that's your (costly) decision. This is what I done with mine, looks bodge but does exactly the same job as the PD160 intake pipe and only cost me the best part of £10.
  15. Are you guys really going to spend £80 on a piece of plastic just because it looks OEM? Why not just use some air ducting pipe as I've used here?: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/191200-mufflerectomy-intake-replacement/page__p__2279825#entry2279825 Doesn't look very OEM but it does the job perfectly and for about £10 you can't really go wrong...
  16. I've been offered a set for £190, is that a good deal? they're in decent condition but need to be sprayed black. Also will a set of 205/40/17 tyres fit them?
  17. That yellow furby looks the absolute nuts.
  18. Both. Deeper exhaust note and a lot more turbo spool. 63.5mm or 2.5inches(ish)
  19. I've tried for ages to get a set of these (in any condition) with absolutely no luck whatsoever. Ended up buying TT alloys instead.
  20. Just took out the back box, its heavier than you think! the pipe + tail pipe and clamps probably cost about £60 altogether, better than paying £300 for an after market system. Not sure if there's any actual performance increase, I just done it for the sound really. From what I've seen on here it should pass MOT.
  21. Carried out Mufflerectomy this weekend on my vRS, here's pics for anyone that's interested: Hardest bit was making up the brackets and adapting them to the original ones while trying to hold everything into place. Also would have liked the tip to stick out a bit less than it does but hey you can't have everything. Sounds MUCH better than before, but not too loud that its annoying, when you going along normally everything sounds exactly as before but get a bit heavy with the right foot and its a different story! exactly what I was after really. Will put up a vid when I get round to it. Throttle response has improved slightly (along with MPG, according to on-board calculator) and dare I say feels a bit quicker? Also replaced the PD130 intake thingy with a bit of 'Neoprene Air Duct Hose' to improve airflow. Doesn't look completely OEM but there's no way I'm shelling out £70+ for a piece of plastic that does exactly the same job. Now just need a remap and I'm sorted! (well for power anyway). Let me know what you think
