Haha ! I knew someone would ask that ! Some bits that I cant remember .... Complete tailgate locking mechanism replaced. DSG Selector unit replaced. Honestly though I can see me having the car in another 5 years .... Just done 30k and still pretty much looks like new. I'm sick of paying £xxx per month for cars .... Next car will be something daft again like an F-Type R.

I took out the year 4 and 5 at purchase and think it saved me about £1800 given the option I will buy a 7th year.

Apparently the new 280 sports 4 sets of exhaust flaps that allow the playing of a number of tunes that may be selected from the entertainment system !!

That's interesting I've always used a good leather feed on the 'leather' parts which are now developing a nice patina after 5 years on the places where you would expect.

Oh yes ! They even had a little squirt of WD40 .... Reheat like an F15 for the first few miles !

Mines October 2015 .... All looks OK so far fingers crossed !! I still have warranty but I doubt the struts are covered...

Well Sunday .... Engine bay de greased and cleaned. 303 aerospace applied. Inside cleaned and leather treated. Mats washed. Glass polished. Snow foam followed by wheels cleaned inside and out. 2 bucket wash and dry. Tailpipes cleaned and polished with Solvol. All outside plastics and rubber treated. Tyre black applied. Old girl still looks pretty good for nearly 60 months old. When the weather picks up i'm going to treat her to a proper paint decontamination and correction.

Hi what were the symptoms leading upto the failure ?

The 6th year extended warranty I have taken out is with Skoda and at around £350 if I remember is money well spent as far as I’m concerned.
