  1. I've had exactly this plus ACC error after dealer had fixed something. Took it back and they sorted.
  2. Take it to the dealer 2019 car still under warranty ?
  3. All done through Skoda so no idea who underwrites it. I took out the extra 2 years when I purchased the car which saved me around a grand then this one in year 6. It looks like next year it may be around £430 with a £250 excess or £730 with zero excess unless I get an offer for having it this year.... Either way i'm well in front..
  4. £387 with zero excess
  5. I remembered this thread so just thought I would add for anyone trying to decide .... I took out the 6th year warranty with Skoda for my 280 which cost £387. Power tailgate packed up looked like the struts which was confirmed by dealer who have now had authorisation for repair so saved me around 1k. I'm very glad I didn't just put the £387 in the bank !
  6. 😃 Happy days ! Covered under my 6th year warranty ! Yup I'll be renewing it in October.
  7. It was standard fitment on mine but hay ho ..
  8. Whichever floats your boat
  9. It was a standard fitment. Totally disagree which is why one way or another I’m going to fix it.
  10. I had the battery off the other day. No alarms it's just a bit scary having the dash lit like a Christmas tree after.... Run round the block sorts that.
  11. Still not decided what I’m going to do but have a few options now so that’s good. Pretty certain it’s the struts so not so keen on paying £120 for investigation to be told sorry not covered. Think my opening gambit will be can you tell me categorically if the struts are covered by the warranty if they are happy days ( I’m sure they aren’t ) if not I’ll put the £120 towards one of the other options.
  12. You can all blame me if you want … I’ll have a double whisky for every ‘blame’ and we can see how my speeling is by end of play
  13. To be honest I dont give a flying #### about my spelling .... <ost of the time the phone screws it up or it's because of a crap keybpoard ( see what I mean !! ) As long as what I type is ( basically ) understood thats ( sorry missed the ' ) is all I care abour
  14. Well.... Dealer want £115 to diagnose fault. I've said if it's not covered by warranty dont bother I dont want to waste £115 .... Just waiting for we need £115 to diagnose to see if it's covered or not ! I think I might call the warranty number to just check if anything to do with the tailgate is covered at least we can get the info here on the thread then.
  15. Can’t be that hard... Can it ?
  16. Yeah no luck for me :-( Like Sherif said above £250 on eBay v £700 + fitting from Skoda …..
  17. Hi ! I wouldnt be doing the job for them just take it back they need to make it right !
  18. Sorry Greg it was done under warranty but it looks like i'll be able to tell you soon how much it costs to replace the struts
  19. Open fully and keep your finger on the open button on the tailgate until it beeps then try again. Failing that could be a problem with the latch mechanism. I had similar and replacing fixed.
  20. Cars booked in for MOT and Service next week. If it's not covered under warranty i've asked dealer to diagnose so at least i'll know how much the fix is I can then have a think on how i'm going to proceed ....
  21. Did yours start as an intermittant fault ? Mine packed up literally from opening to closing.
  22. Have they called or emailed ? Try to get an admission of guilt in a recording or email ?
  23. Def wont be paying that but want to keep the power tailgate. I'll see what the dealer says you never know it may be covered by the warranty ! If not i'll be going down the eBay route. Does anyone recommend a trustworthy indi in the Sheffield area ?
