Yeah it was one of the first 280's in the country in 2015 I'm happy with the pads lifespan especially considering my occasional use of the full 300 horses on the twisty bits !

I’ve tested this a fair bit over the past 10 years and for me personally it makes so little difference on my usual routes as to be not worth doing. On longer holiday motorway runs the cars doing 40+mpg so not worth using it.

Well 54k and the old girl has some wear and tear cropping up. Loud clunk when turning right I suspect from rear offside maybe a ball joint Cars booked in on Monday at my local indi. Certainly can’t complain new disks and pads last September and a couple of suspension arms on the front. Here’s to the next 10 years 😆

Personal best today started out with a full tank and 300 mile range and ended up with 425 mile range after driving 183 miles ! 41.6mpg I love it when the 99 Ron Fairy tops the tank up as I drive along ! 😂

Last car was a Scout and now the 280 not sure I could go back to 2 x wheel drive.

51k and nearly 10 years for me and only activated once and I'm bloody glad it did saved me me some embarrassment !

Mines done just over 51k and a couple of weeks ago had an advisory for both nearside and offside front lower suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement. 2 MOT's carried out at different workshops and both reported the same. Car was up on the lift on Friday and I had a look for myself they arnt totally knackered but are just about ready. Booked in for both doing tomorrow.

Best thing since sliced bread if you hate it then it's because you arnt using it properly.

On rough and uneven road under tray looks secure but can’t count it out could be exhaust bracket I suppose. Front suspension arm bushes had an advisory a couple of weeks ago at the MOT I suppose one of those could have collapsed. At one time I would have probably been pretty confident in my diagnosis now days it’s a guess !

Sorry for not updating ! Yes front and rear disks and pads plus an MOT for the same price the dealer wanted to charge just for the front !

Well I was told the car needed new disks and new pads and I could not drive it so I had to come home on the bus and leave it at the dealer until Monday .... MOT Expires on September 6th This is what the site says : Repair immediately (major defects): Offside Front Brake pad(s) worn down to wear indicator (1.1.13 (a) (i)) Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories): Front Brake disc worn, but not excessively (1.1.14 (a) (i)) Nearside Front Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement Wishbone Bush (5.3.4 (a) (i))

I had a look at the pads last week and thought they are just about ready and the disks are lipped but if I thought oh crap they are dangerous I would have sorted straight away. No way do I think they will be dangerous for the 2 mile drive from the stealer to the Indy.

Mmmm MOT says still valid to 6th September… Maybe it takes a while to update … Maybe .. Google says usually updates overnight

They will retest for me for free. Dangerous ? They said the light had just come on wasn’t on when I took it down . cant be driven how’s that work if you are just at an mot station then ? Well done on the Yeti price I don’t have the time or inclination to do the job myself anymore.

So last car I had that failed an mot was 2005 I think so in uncharted territory 😆 Cars down at main dealer for service and they want 1k to replace the front disks and pads ! I said no thanks and called my local Indy who can do it for half that ish. Car is at main dealer and I’ve said I will pick it up on Monday morning and take to Indy. Main dealer will re test for free so question is would it be legal to pick car up on Monday and drive it home then back to dealer on Tuesday for retest ?

Mind you … Looking around there are a few almost new 280’s with just a few k on the clock for around 35k …. Say £12k for mine ….. Does it make sense ? Another 10 years motoring ? Mind you mine has had the struts replaced, water pump ( recently ) gear stick selector prob and a few others …. Replace or spend a few quid on mine ?
