  1. Nice one and welcome to the Superb forum 🙂
  2. Yup I have a 3 mile commute and get around 22mpg ..... Couple of weeks ago had a trip to Wales and managed 42 which is the best so far.
  3. Don't spoil it !! 🤣 Just broken 46k miles
  4. I paid 34k for ours but it will always be worth at least 1k apparently that's the going price for a decent wooden coffin ... I wonder how much JCB rental is ?
  5. Not cheap now are they ! Another 8 years and mine will have done 80k wonder what it will be worth then .... 😆
  6. I had one of those 🙂 Dax with a a 289. Wish A still had it now !
  7. I'm afraid its your good self who doesn't know what they are talking about ... Contrary to popular myth the DSG does not learn your driving style or anything even remotely similar. As you are just 'finding your way here' I suggest you do some proper research before accusing long standing and respected members that they do not know what they are talking about ..... 🙄
  8. Good news I suppose .... Dealer says nothing wrong with bearings and says probably uneven tyre wear ... It was a strange sound at 4mph as I walked alongside the car but who knows ? It's booked in for 2 new SP4's on the front on Friday so if it goes away I'll eat humble pie ...
  9. Yup Skoda Warranty and no not approved used I've owned the car from new. Haldex done twice with the last change also having the strainer and housing cleaned.
  10. It's still under warranty which is why I'm mainly sticking with the MD. I do have a local specialist but they are not that much cheaper than the dealer. The car doesn't owe me anything in fact I'm about £2k up if you take into account the warranty claims and what I've spent on the warranty over the past 8 years. I'll suck this one up and see how it goes. MD Has always been first class.
  11. Yeah i'm 90% sure the problem is a worn bearing and a blown drivers speaker .... Diagnose that by plugging it in ! They have already warned me there will be a £135 diagnostic fee ... Mmmm....
  12. Cars booked in for few probs that the Warranty doesn't cover so for the first time since 2002 I'm going to have to cough up ! There is a £135 diagnostic fee which is a new one to me is the fee payable no matter what so in fact it's a £135 booking in charge ?
  13. Thanks guys I'm at 44k have warranty but suspect it wont be covered. It might not be a bearing ! I'll update when sorted.
  14. Sounds like I may have a wheel bearing on the way out on the nearside front. I cant hear it inside but an eagle eared mate heard it yesterday are they a weak point or am I just unlucky ?
  15. OK I did a stoopid thing .... Cleaning the inside today and my OCD got the better of me as there was a bit of dust under the rubber mat .... Ahhh look it come out .... Oh no there are 3 rubber ( whatever ) but I only need to pull 2 out to remove that pesky dust !! NO PROBLEM !!! Ahhhh !! That's better dust gone... Right just push em back .... WTF !! ??
  16. Cheers I'll see if I can get it done for nowt first then have a look.
  17. Mine does it from time to time 2nd gear overrun been the worst culprit. Seems to depend on time of year, temperature and volume of stereo … It doesn’t bother me anymore.
  18. We’ve all done it haha ! Usually best to check when it has been at the stealers.
  19. I suspect the speaker has blown it certainty sounds like it ! Has anyone done the job is it straight forward and how much did the speaker cost ? I suspect it wont be covered by the warranty. Cheers !
  20. Great posts gents I’ll let you know what I ultimately go for.
  21. Cheers trouble is I’m too lazy to be messing with true winters and if the weather is truly crap I’ll just leave the car on the drive. Have some snow socks in the boot for emergancies. I guess what I really want is for someone to tell me either : Yes stick with the summers the crossclimates are just too much of a dynamic compromise especially if you don’t do a lot of winter miles. or Nope honestly if you are not driving on the track you wont feel much difference between the summer and the crossclimates plus you will have the added security when the temp falls below x degrees.
  22. Here we go again tyre depth has reached the point where I’m sniffing around at replacements … Current depths Fr - 3.8 mm Fl - 3.1 mm Rr - 4.4 Rl - 4.3 Do I go with PS4 again or look at an alternative ? No doubt the PS4 is a cracking tyre but they don’t last that long. Im not complaining it’s what I expected think this is my 3rd full set. So shortlisted : PS4 - I know what to expect it’s a cracking drive and I know how long it’s going to last. Crossclimate 2 - I’m not driving on the track and the added cold weather performance appeals. Would I really feel the difference in day to day driving with the Crossclimates ? Would they be scrabbling for grip with a full throttle start in the summer ? The search continues …
  23. Update for future ref…. Fixed under warranty cost would have been £200 but don’t know if that’s all in or exclusive of vat and labour. Either way a decent chunk out of my Warranty cost for this year. Edit : Final non warranty price would have been £230-250
