  1. Cheers trouble is I’m too lazy to be messing with true winters and if the weather is truly crap I’ll just leave the car on the drive. Have some snow socks in the boot for emergancies. I guess what I really want is for someone to tell me either : Yes stick with the summers the crossclimates are just too much of a dynamic compromise especially if you don’t do a lot of winter miles. or Nope honestly if you are not driving on the track you wont feel much difference between the summer and the crossclimates plus you will have the added security when the temp falls below x degrees.
  2. Here we go again tyre depth has reached the point where I’m sniffing around at replacements … Current depths Fr - 3.8 mm Fl - 3.1 mm Rr - 4.4 Rl - 4.3 Do I go with PS4 again or look at an alternative ? No doubt the PS4 is a cracking tyre but they don’t last that long. Im not complaining it’s what I expected think this is my 3rd full set. So shortlisted : PS4 - I know what to expect it’s a cracking drive and I know how long it’s going to last. Crossclimate 2 - I’m not driving on the track and the added cold weather performance appeals. Would I really feel the difference in day to day driving with the Crossclimates ? Would they be scrabbling for grip with a full throttle start in the summer ? The search continues …
  3. Update for future ref…. Fixed under warranty cost would have been £200 but don’t know if that’s all in or exclusive of vat and labour. Either way a decent chunk out of my Warranty cost for this year. Edit : Final non warranty price would have been £230-250
  4. The 2016 280 has multi point injection so hopefully keeps carbon buildup to a minimum.
  5. Usual great service at Rainworth Sheffield car going in Thurs.
  6. They won’t be interested unless it’s actually failed.
  7. Thanks guys yeah it does sound like that’s the prob. I’ve fired an email off to book it into Rainworth hopefully before my hols in a couple of weeks !
  8. Hi all anyone had this one ? Just arrived home and put the drivers window up and there is such a bang ! Scared the crap out of me ! At least it’s closed and I don’t want to tempt fate with a window that’s stuck down especially with a holiday in a couple of weeks but I did try the up button again for a second and the motor is just whiring.
  9. Sod it I’ve just ordered one from the dealers… 50 quid lighter but it’s oem brand new and won’t trigger my ocd. Thanks for the suggestions though gents !
  10. Have to say though if I went back to 2015 knowing what I knew now it would make zero difference. Its without a doubt the best car I’ve ever owned which is why nearly 8 years later I have no desire to swap it !
  11. Don’t think that’s what they did last time but if whatever they do lasts another 4 years I’ll be happy enough.
  12. Well time to revisit this thread because after nearly 4 years my creaking suspension is on the way back. I suppose I’ve been lucky to last this long. I’ll see how it goes but I’m guessing it won’t be covered by warranty now 😞
  13. Cheers that looks promising for a tenner ! The only thing that convinced me it wasn't snow ( and there was a lot as you know in Sheff ) the arm had not just been pushed down it had been lifted up then bent down. No photo but its the arm broken where it fastens to the nut.
  14. It looks like some kind soul has taken exception to my rear wiper and done their very best to rip it off 😞 My own fault I suppose for parking on the road for one day since 2015 because of the snow. I was asking for it really. Anyone know the part number or where I can source a replacement obviously for the lowest possible price. I'm not too lazy to look for myself but after 3 large JD's I would probably end up with an RB211 instead of the arm. Ta muchly
  15. Sorry for delay been in Tenerife.... 24' 😞 just 42k
  16. Cant believe mine will be 8 years old this October ! Still zero interest of swapping it for anything else.
  17. Good to know mine lasted about 6 years with maybe 4 or more activations a day as I plugged the camera into the rear 12v socket. I've chopped that down to maybe 4 a week so hopefully these will last !
  18. Had one done a few years ago by Chips Away and not impressed at all when I got it home I realised the finish was poor and its now flaking. Just curbed front nearside today 😞 Anyone recommend someone who will do a decent job in Sheffield ? Cheers
  19. 95% in town i'm afraid
  20. Simple solution to this one .... Swap the wheels
  21. Cheers not long for me then !
  22. Just out of interest what milage are you on ? 41k and oem disc's and pads still ok.
  23. Yes it does lock if the struts are faulty and you have to strong arm it.
