Ahhhh.... In that case I can help ! I believe you can extend the 3 year warranty but it's not as full featured as the oem warranty purchased with the new car. I think I paid just under £600 for mine ? Must have save me about £1500 so was well worth it.

Just to add a little balance my Superb is the same color and will be 5 years old in October. The paint when washed still looks brand new. I have nothing like those blisters on mine.

Would not be surprised. I’ve not looked because I’m in warranty but there must be someone out there who can strip the unit and replace the switch.

Thanks all. Well just done it again but this time instead of just flashing up on the dash and vanishing I had a yellow exclamation and a warning in the Columbus with the message. This was great as I could take a picture of it :-)

Booked in. Out of interest can anyone tell me if a logged fault would still be present after say 3 weeks ?

See this is a common problem .... Mines done it a few times now in the last couple of weeks. Latest this morning. Fired email off to dealer will post back what happens.

Car on 24.5k miles. Dealer says 40k for oil change. Now rightly or wrongly this has the old buttocks twitching..... Looking at my average mileage cars going to be pushing 7 years old when its due for a DSG oil service..... So... For the sake of a couple hundred quid get it done now and again at say 50k ? Opinions please :-)

Anyone have a problem with the electric tailgate not actually locking ? Seems to happen on mine every so often when particularly cold ....
