  1. Cheers mate! I took the tyres off and took them in one by one and they did them for £40 a wheel. It was a full refurb as well, not just a facia like a lot of wheel refurb companies. Cheers! To be fair they were not damaged really - there was a scratch on the leon wheels from a tyre fitter slipping whilst removing the stick on weights, but other than that the Leon set were ok. The Octy ones were a bit different. I have used Laptab quite a few times on my different cars - the Leon was the 6th set they had done for me. I tried another company on the Octy wheels in Brum, but the laquer coating cracked and peeled off...they looked a real mess. I should have known better though as the same happened to my old Clio set, but they said it was due to using wheel cleaner on them, which I admitted I did - I hadn't on the Octavia set and they ended up the same. I couldnt recommend Laptab enough to be honest, they have a fantastic service and I have never had problems with the coating.
  2. Hi matey, No there isn't any other bushes. It will be the ARB bushes and to be honest I would just get a complete ARB (it also comes with new bushes and mounting plates) as in my past experience I have changed them 4 times now, including putting uprated poly bushes in to - but after a few months it came back. I bit the bullet and bought a new ARB and it's been great for 6 months now. The new ARB has a raised metal area where the bush sits to and the new brackets are plastic coated at one end to stop rattling (which is the spanner noise you are talking about). The old ARB just had plastic inserts to mount the rubber on. HTH
  3. Hey all, Had the wheels on both my Octavia and my Leon done at Laptab in Birmingham over the last couple of weeks. As usual they both had an A1 job! Went for high gloss sports silver on the Octy and Black Chrome (pearl black and silver) on the Leon. Heres a couple of pics for you: Well pleased! And a group shot after a clean this morning for you!
  4. I defected in January! I went from my Furby to the Leon and I haven't been able to fault it yet. She goes very well, has all the toys i need and you don't see many about (which was one thing I liked about the Fabia). I really like the look as well....I think the Leon and the Altea are very good looking cars! Im sure they wont be dissapointed anyway! Pimpage:
  5. Nice one Paul...you planning on keeping this one though lol! Your insurance company will start thinking your a trader! Eh? What exactly is ch@v about a Euro Golf
  6. This is where I put mine: All of the other gubbins I put up behind the glovebox (as said above) and the mic I put on the A pillar, by feeding it under the drivers side of the dash, up past the fuse box and under the trim. Worked fine for me
  7. I would say the same. I have had them in my Octy and my Leon for two weeks now. They were an improvement over the standard Leon bulbs, but not much of an improvement on the Octy's Philips Bluevision's I had in. They are good though and I would recommend them as a bulb upgrade
  8. Me and the 'ole girl Me drinking Guiness @ Guiness shortly before going to see Ireland vs. Australia Me next day with the ball and chain...looking slightly worse for wear after the Rugby lol.
  9. Yeah...its the same filter. I think the diesel is the same as well tbh.
  10. I have got one in mine. Seems ok...wouldn't like to say whether it made a difference but then I have never been able to tell with panel filters on any car imo. I have cleaned it once and I must say it was a lot easier than the pipercross's and k&n's I have used in the past. They get my recommendation anyway
  11. Clio 16v or Williams gets my vote...inexpensive (16v cost me a grand when I bought it) to buy and you can make them look mint again with a bit of TLC. This was my Clio (my best mate Andy has got it now), Its running a Spider race engine...a little special F7R from Nick at Hill Power (170 bhp), It had new arches cut it, to get rid of the devilish rust :(, a complete respray in original 449 Williams blue, with a couple of body mods (de-lock and de-badge), lowered 55mm on the front and 35mm on the back, the usual 'breathing' mods and then my OZ's plastic coated in Anthracite. I usually ran it stripped as well, to shed a few more pounds! Was the best car I owned for fun factor and ill stand by that any day....and fast would have been an understatement...traction was the biggest problem though. Pics to wet your appetite and ill upload an exhaust clip for those that want a little listen to ha ha! Clio Backfire
  12. Thanks everyone! It is indeed the 170 bhp version. I have quite a long journey to work, hence going for the diesel version. I know i have got the Octy at home when I want that little little bit of petrol fun lol! Although she only managed 41 mpg today. Ill imagine that it will get a bit better when its settled in a bit. I remember the Furby being a bit heavy when I first got it. Im impressed so far, it's definately got a kick when i comes on boost, but as with the Furby, its still nice and sedate when you just want to potter along. The only couple of things that have bugged me so far, is the lack of a light in the glovebox and the size of the glovebox, and the fact it didnt come with the stainless stell pedal covers as with the Octy and Furby vRS. So not much yet lol. Ill update when I have a few miles under my belt!
  13. My new car was delivered on Friday, right in the middle of 5"'s of snow! Not the best day to get my new car but hey ho....It's a Seat Leon FR 2.0TDi. Haven't really been out in it yet, because of the snow....took it out with a mate today, for it's first real outing. She goes quite well I have to say! Its a replacement for the Fabia, so I have still got the Octavia vRS. Just had that tidied up as well actually, took it into the bodyshop to have all of the damn stone chips sorted. Here's a couple of pics of the new girl! Im impressed with it so far, but i've only done 57 miles! I'd have had the Octavia VRs TDi, but the price difference between the Skoda and the Seat was too great. I thought the Leon would be a lot smaller than the Octy, but the Seat is actually quite big (obviously not as big as the Octy's tardis of a boot!). Can't wait to take it out 'properly'...shall we say!
  14. I agree! This is my aptly named Fluffy!
  15. I know, they are really bad are'nt they! Luckily it wasnt re-mapped! I was thinking about getting a dragon this month though.
  16. Coming back from the dentist of all times! I was sitting at a set of traffic lights, Birmingham rush hour just after a filling! Goes to pull away when the lights change and she dies, just cuts out. No engine man lights or anything. Tries to start it, but to no avail. Phones the RAC and they come out nice and promptly as im causing chaos because I was in the right hand lane of a dual carriage way, on the said traffic lights. They could'nt get it going so I ended up being towed home and then towed to the dealers the following morning. Turns out the the turbo has blown and the dealer said that I needed a new intercooler as well. Gutted! :( Good job it's under warranty! Worryingly though the dealer that the car is at, said he has seen it twice before and they were both on similar mileage (18K) Should get her back in a couple of days. Can't wait tbh, ive had to hire a Fiesta 1.4 TDCi and man it's slow!
  17. Your thinking of the Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner shared platforms. The Renault doesnt share it's platform.
  18. I have got Trico Innovisions fitted to the Octy and the Furby and I have found them great. The wipe is excellent and they fit on the exiisting arms. They are on all of my family and friends cars as well now after the recommendation!
  19. It's my kit for sale. Its an SKF timing belt kit, brand new complete and it is for your car.
  20. Come on guys, it was done 'professionally'! At a mere cost of thousands, can't you tell? Scking, truly shocking!
  21. Pauls (aka Monkeyboy's) old vRS with the Milotec grill and brows. Secswee tbf! You can see other mods he did on this site: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/495368 The vRS should have the edge.
  22. Looks good, I really like the oval look on the Octy's. I had the same on mine, only one though!
  23. Power upgrade yes You shouldnt have any problems with that power upgrade, there are a few people running similar or more power than that on here. Mine has just hit 93k and still drives fantastically! That body kit is most definately not to my taste though :thumbdwn: You can get the grill from Milotec.
