1.6TDi Fuel Filter
Welcome to the Superb club! Keep an eye on the fuel filter lid. Mine was past the point of no return, I tried layers of Kurust, this only delayed the inevitable and it sprung a leak eventually. The risk to the rest of the car ie engine is too great to ignore.

1.6TDi Fuel Filter
The only information I can provide is the early cars like my 05 Octavia suffered from a rusted top/lid fuel filter housing. The design of these was/is a different material to the later ones which seemed to go from a black painted metal to a more stainless steel type design. The main failing is this component is the top becomes a water trap which then rusts and leads to its early demise. Mine eventually spring a leak where one of the metal pipes joins into the lid. I replaced with a close matching used unit for about £35. The new cost of the filter housing leads into several hundreds of ponds without fitting. It might be worth pricing one up. The other thing is Skoda for several different versions to cars ie the UFI or Mann version. Even TPS don’t know if ordering a filter off your chassis number. There is also a risk of damage if any fuel leaks onto the cambelt to your engine and perhaps slipping of the fan belt. Beat advice check if it’s water or fuel. You can miss the aroma of diesel. Ps a poorly fitted filter and sealing ring can so cause leaks, plus a bent/mis- aligned lid.

AUX input missing
I agree with a previous post, get a Bluetooth FM modulator that plugs into the cig lighter for power. You will get what you want for less than £10 and no wiring or work to do just plug tune in the radio, connect your phone to it and go. Even works as a hands free for calls. What’s not to like?

1st service or oil change?
You got me thinking after this post. I am the go to for family and friends with VAG cars. Brother in law had his Audi A5 TDI done with these guys, who I used to use about 20 years ago to service our Golfs. Juat as a bench mark the price of a full service is very good and they actually replace everything listed. Due to COVID they dropped the Pollen filter change and reduced the price by about £20, but compared to main dealer it’s an absolute bargain. Plus they update and provide a printout from the Audi computer/history system. A good independent really is worth finding.

1st service or oil change?
To answer your question 19 months old. Book it in if you don’t want to leave it so long rather than waiting the full 24 months.

1st service or oil change?
I have my own system with any of my VAG group cars over the years still have 3 in the house. It’s been discussed here also. I only ask for an oil service becoming quite rare now at dealers. Thankfully my Skoda one and I convinced a Seat one to do just that, supplying my own oil and filter, genuine parts of course. They do that and also a free health check(as good as an inspection) and wash/vac for around £60-80. That’s included picking the car from my house and dropping it back. My book gets stamped too. Air and pollen filters I do myself, brake fluid and fuel filters I always pay whatever they ask all inc parts to replace. Just personal choice about how dirty I want to get my hands. When you compare on paper the major and minor service I don’t see you get that much to justify the near double cost. Even always going for minor and then paying the extra for the odd filter may work out cheaper. Even with air filters I replace a lot more aggressively than the advised intervals. Pollen 2 years or 1 again your choice.

1st service or oil change?
Annual oil and filter based on your mileage and usage all the way. Variable is made for fleet owners watching costs.

AUX input missing
I may have confused the situation in that the unit plays mp3 disks rather than the whole aux thing in case of Stream MP3
-
AUX input missing
Can you actually read the name off the front of the stereo in the car. It will say Stream or Stream MP3 a quick google shows it In attached

AUX input missing
I don’t think it was standard in 2005. Is your head unit a Stream or Stream MP3? I seem to recall when I had a Stream fitted it had an aux option but never did anything. I have an Audience 6 disk unit now and never did get around to sorting the aux. I just use a FM modulator.

Superb 2 1.9 tdi timing belt service interval
I not sure if any revisions on any VAG group cars but for my 2005 octy 1.9 they made it mandatory at 4 years and about 80k, whichever came sooner. Later cars like my Superb CR 2lt moved back to 5 years and maybe more miles. Looking at the age yours have passed it in years, so needed . You could always call a dealer/vag specialist or 2 and ask the opinion to be sure.

Invisible gearknob legend
“Simply Clever” the interior lighting is better on the Superb2 than I have with the Octavia. I get footwell lights with controllable light levels in the Superb

Invisible gearknob legend
Are you referring to the illumination from the interior light cluster above the gear stick that has a couple of small spot LEDs/bulbs that shine down onto the gear stick area?

How long does it take for your car to get up to temperature?
May just be some good advice after years of good service they may be supplying substandard parts or pattern parts with no branding as you may have found. We all know Mahle has been associated with supplying various VAG parts over the years.

How long does it take for your car to get up to temperature?
It’s been a couple of years maybe since I used them and I received Mahle part in a proper box from Autodoc. I followed the footsteps of others on here. Maybe you should have complained rather than fit it, could have been a mix up or a customer return home wrong? However that said the part has resolved your issue so can’t be all bad?

Trading in - leave upgraded stereo or refit stock?
If you can deal with the hassle of removing and selling why not get some of your outlay back. If you have written it off value wise and don’t want the hassle leave it in there. Ultimately up to you.

How long does it take for your car to get up to temperature?
Plenty of threads. I did mine following one. Mahle part from Autodoc, dirt cheap.

Goodbye MK2. A few stats and I've got a some parts for sale too...
Where is the old steed going, in part ex ? Was it a diesel elegance or different?

Coil warning light in dashboard and loss of power
It could be the EGR or DPF sensor or anything. It would usually log a code if the coil/EML was illuminated. Make sure you are using a decent reader of codes for Skoda cars.

Inspection checklist needed
When my cars go in for an oil service at any VAG dealer I always get a complementary vehicle health check report. They always find plenty to complain or warn about. Hence why I never have a major service. Minor all the way for me. If you are self servicing and inspecting you need to reset it somehow.

Window regulator strange behaviour
There is a procedure to remember this auto close feature, hopefully nothing broken I believe part of it involves holding the window closed with button until you hear a click and perhaps the same in open position. Then the one touch comes back. Someone will be along soon with a proper explanation.

Race Blue Not a vRS
Feels like a let down to the race blue vRS owners lol. I do like the colour being available on the mk3 though to the non vRS models.
