Take a look at the Thule website I presume they list compatible foot packs I believe looking around at similar VAG the 757 foot pack is very common fitment across estates inc non VAG. I certainly have them on my Superb 2 and got a friend to purchase the same for his 2011 Seat Exeo estate. If you need roofbars you can pair them with the appropriate ones for your needs, Wingbars etc.

If you look at the bonnet a couple of these are usually screwed into it at the front, one on each corner. Not entirely sure it’s purpose but it adjusts the height of the bonnet when shut and acts like a cushion of sorts I expect. The screw thread at one end allows it to be screwed into the holes and height adjusted

Too messy for me and getting diesel over the cambelt and other belts is dangerous territory so beware of potential engine damage that can occur in this situation. Hence why I prefer leaving it to the professionals.

You can reset the airbag light without VCDS as I have a cheap OBD reader that does it. VCDS Will at least tell you which airbag it might be. I have had problems for years with 2005 drivers seat airbag. Tried cleaning connector it went away for a while then comes back. It’s very common on our cars. The fix is to cut the plug out and solder together. Best you get it read first to make sure. Try the VCDS map on here see if a Briskodian might help you out with a code read.

Personally I ignore the extended intervals and change stuff earlier. A pollen annually or bi-annually can be done DIY as can the air filter depending on your miles. Don’t cost much and your time is free so no labour charge. Not done a diesel filter myself so just pay for that earlier than due, depending on miles, even half the recommended interval to have a clean filter that might otherwise get clogged depending on fuel used. Again it’s up to you and it’s very hard to predict conditions different cars are exposed to.

I take it you have electric seats. Each key is paired to a seat and mirror setting. You need to reprogram a key to your settings. It’s in the manual. If you have (Kessy) keyless there are a few more steps.

It’s your choice given your annual miles, a service every year that includes an oil and filter is recommended by me and others, ask to switch to fixed rather than variable servicing. Your engine will thank you for it. Variable is for fleet owners looking to have fixed costs and save money.

How much did that set you back? Mine has had over 220k of my behind on it and it’s given in the centre of the cushion, putting pressure on my coccyx bone, by whatever metal is running down the centre of the seat base. By the time i realised it was too late. It’s now padded to prevent reoccurance. Took a few years to lose all the discomfort.

They are not your standard run of the mill battery, AGM and the like , to deal with the additional stress SS puts on batteries. Some batteries also need coding to the car and in this case it may also be true. So buy with caution.

2 separate bulbs from memory I don’t recall the seller it was from eBay. Out of the 2 I got 1 failed quite quickly and was replaced promptly by the seller. It’s important for me they throw no bulb warning and need no additional resistors. I have been happy with them so far. Example auction picture attached. Remember to read how to remove the combined bulb holder it’s a little tricky. uTube your friend.

I had mine coded back to just DRLs then Xenons when needed. I upgraded the DRL bulbs to LED. They are not as bright. But the Xenon bulbs are not cheap and given I used to drive a lot in dark it may not have made much of a diffence. But even a few hours saved bulb hours is good for me at the time. In contrast on my 2005 octy with Halogens I use them as DRLs and drive with them on all the time. I am very much of the view of being seen, like Volvos, prevent accidents.

Do you have halogen or like me bendy self levelling Xenons? When I purchased my s2 estate a few years back the fog/drl combo never llluninated it was always headlights. I had them coded back to DRL and headlights on when dark on auto. The DRLs are very weak and some people don’t like them.

Their was also a central register which they updated when this first happened to ensure Skoda group knows of your preference.

My own personal experience when car went into service it’s an 05 1.9 PD TDi. The technician trapped a cable into the filter housing when tightening it and that cable somehow threw the emissions warning light onto the dash. Even the AA knew that something was not right with the coolant temperate sensor not telling the ECU what the temperature was. So I presume it’s in that area for me your car maybe the same or different.

Welcome to the Superb club! Keep an eye on the fuel filter lid. Mine was past the point of no return, I tried layers of Kurust, this only delayed the inevitable and it sprung a leak eventually. The risk to the rest of the car ie engine is too great to ignore.

The only information I can provide is the early cars like my 05 Octavia suffered from a rusted top/lid fuel filter housing. The design of these was/is a different material to the later ones which seemed to go from a black painted metal to a more stainless steel type design. The main failing is this component is the top becomes a water trap which then rusts and leads to its early demise. Mine eventually spring a leak where one of the metal pipes joins into the lid. I replaced with a close matching used unit for about £35. The new cost of the filter housing leads into several hundreds of ponds without fitting. It might be worth pricing one up. The other thing is Skoda for several different versions to cars ie the UFI or Mann version. Even TPS don’t know if ordering a filter off your chassis number. There is also a risk of damage if any fuel leaks onto the cambelt to your engine and perhaps slipping of the fan belt. Beat advice check if it’s water or fuel. You can miss the aroma of diesel. Ps a poorly fitted filter and sealing ring can so cause leaks, plus a bent/mis- aligned lid.

I agree with a previous post, get a Bluetooth FM modulator that plugs into the cig lighter for power. You will get what you want for less than £10 and no wiring or work to do just plug tune in the radio, connect your phone to it and go. Even works as a hands free for calls. What’s not to like?

You got me thinking after this post. I am the go to for family and friends with VAG cars. Brother in law had his Audi A5 TDI done with these guys, who I used to use about 20 years ago to service our Golfs. Juat as a bench mark the price of a full service is very good and they actually replace everything listed. Due to COVID they dropped the Pollen filter change and reduced the price by about £20, but compared to main dealer it’s an absolute bargain. Plus they update and provide a printout from the Audi computer/history system. A good independent really is worth finding.
