  1. Put the registration into Autotraders sell page it gives you a guide price plus do a search for others on the market.
  2. Isn’t there an known problem with wiring loom on twin door superbs? Can you do a search?
  3. Not come across speaker issues usually locks or windows stop working first. Maybe you need to be absolutely sure before you start chopping a perfect loom. The kit is a good alternative to a genuine loom and associated labour. Plus soldering and lengthening the existing broken cables are an option.
  4. It’s made for the job but I used to prefer a plug socket with appropriate extension bar and ratchet (1/2” drive) to get the leverage to remove the plug.
  5. It’s not always visible as wires can be broken inside. It’s a very common issue as you can see from other threads on here. So you may need to test cables for a break. From what I recall certain wires break before others.
  6. This is the post regarding repairs Plus another post
  7. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/496144-drivers-door-harness-issue-not-enough-connectors-on-the-replacement-😡/ one I located
  8. Do a search on here there are repair kits which allow you not to have to replace the whole loom on eBay someone did this in here also . The genuine loom is expensive. Also you could have the old wires soldered. I had the loom replaced at the dealer.
  9. It maybe too far for you but it’s still a reasonable drive perhaps. Unit18 Automotive Milton Keynes. I had my DSG oil done by them early this year. I pulled in, they took the car, let me sit outside in a courtesy car, used the WiFi and worked for a few hours whilst car was done. I found not much difference when shopping around for this work. It’s the quality of work that also matters filters and adaptation was included. This firm had been recommended here for years and is very active on VAG cars.
  10. On our 2008 petrol Golf 5 I managed to disconnect the fuel pipe coming up towards the engine and used my in line hand siphon pump to remove most of the petrol from the tank. I could not dip the tank nor could I do anything from under the rear seats. I did not want to damage the car too much as it needed to be driven onto a trailer by copart.
  11. Why not upgrade them to LED at the same time? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2pc-CREE-1156-BA15S-P21W-Xenon-LED-CANBUS-REVERSE-LIGHT-BULB-WHITE-HIGH-POWER-/321517034780?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 I purchased similar in May 19 no warning lights and a promptly replaced faulty bulb on first fitment. Much nicer light for DRLs
  12. It’s feels like every industry making up for the lack of trade during the pandemic with price increases. Local barbers prices shot up from £6 to £9.
  13. I am pretty sure you need to connect using maxidot to media player as well as handfree, don’t quote me I have an S2 with Columbus.
  14. That looks like the place in passenger footwell. I reckon there will be a YouTube video for it. Try there. Otherwise it slides to one side left or right and the filter stays behind or comes with it.
  15. So did you replace the DSG stat yourself or someone did it ?
  16. Plenty of people have written how to change it. I changed my own. Pls do a search on here. I had same issue once DSG stat changed all was fine.
  17. The AWX engine is highly regarded and will run for starship mileages. I read that somewhere maybe HJ. Look after it and you could get the same. Less to go wrong also than later cars with DPF/EGR etc.
  18. Something making the brakes stick if you had city braking. I don’t think they do that on the Rapid? Strongly suspect a sticking brake callipers. Please check which wheel is the hottest next time and after your next journey. Otherwise wheels off and check all disks and pads for excess wear. Don’t forget inner pad should be checked also.
  19. Had the same on my NSF 2005 octy. I just replaced the whole strut with a used low mile spare, a couple of years back.
  20. Superb bonnet catches do play up it’s a known thing. Usually need screwdriver to release safety rather than closing issues. Have you tried dropping it from a low height vs pushing down to close ?
  21. Octavia mk2 hatch vs superb mk2. For the airport run with load cover removed the superb wins as it takes more cases and larger ones also. for carry tools in large boxes and other stuff. The Octavia seems better because the load level is higher it means I can put more stuff in the boot and leave the parcel shelf in meaning nothing is on show. For me security is also just as important even if it’s just your holiday gear if it’s in view someone will try and nab it. Plus also on an estate if you had the load cover off items in the boot could roll forwards to the rear passengers. The secure aspect can be resolved with a dark rear tint of course.
  22. Doesn’t it just clip on to the screen part. From vague memory there are some metal clips/prongs that hold it in place. Maybe they need bending a little to keep the tension?
  23. Be careful if one of the wires breaks you could end up with headlights on all the time with ignition. Hope you get it fixed soon.
