Im abit puzzled as to how these Alloy style connectors fit to the plastic part of the standard intercooler??
http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=200102&product=FMKT010
How can you clamp the plastic onto the alloy part of that coupler? I'm prety sure one of my lower IC pipes is leaking so im going to replace it
Thanks

Do you get that annoying harmonicca screaching sound with that setup?
-

I had to use wet and dry on my stainless steel tips. Dont think the previous owner had ever cleaned them in the 6 years he had it
-
Mine does this too. Ive had a new battery, replaced spark plugs and had a new fuel filter and neither of them has cured this problem
-
How much is it?
Cheaper than the £2300 bill I ended up with for letting the intakes become caked in carbon I bet.......
How many miles were on the car when that happened?
-
Try this company, Seen it on wheeler dealers. Suppose to work extremely well

you are a life saver bud, I absolutely sh&t myself when it was sparking. Its all ok now
Cheers fella

My incar charger for my phone has broken and now there is abit of metal and plastic stuck inside the 12v cigaret socket. If i touch the metal against the side it sparks. How do i get it out? can i remove the fuse in the fuse box for the cigaret socket? will this stop it from sparking or with it make things worse??
Thanks

Im getting really annoyed at the main dealers around here, Not one of them knew what i was on about when i asked not 2 but 3 different dealers if they could give me a price to supply and fit a new Cam follower. Its a total joke. 2 of them couldnt even find the part no and the 3rd had never heard of any problems with a cam follower. Is this just an American issue? Id do it myself if i was brave enough but i've got the banjo bolt on mine. The car is coming upto 57000 miles and im getting it remaped next month so im abit worried

Ive just had my clutch replaced and flywheel with a sachs kit off ebay and its brill. The Clutch was sachs and so was the dual mass flywheel, the release bearing was an LUK item however and it all fit perfectly.

When i did my service the other week on my car (07 TFSI) i noticed there was some oil on the intercooler pipe on the left hand side of the engine (When looking at it from the front) It seems to be held by some kind of spring clip. I cant say ive noticed a boost leak but if oil is coming out then surely air can too. Id check that connection fella

The warranty isn't worth the paper its writen on if you ask me. I tried to get the flywheel replaced under warranty and they said they couldnt hear anything wrong despite a fairly loud knocking sound when pulling away then I asked about getting the cam follower replaced and they said "As much as id like to take your money its going to cost too much" Erm... right, so guides on here suggest half our job to do which would maybe cost me £100 labour and the part, utter useless

I've just serviced my Mk2 vRS at the weekend and you'll need a socket (Cant remember what size 16 or 17) to undo the sump drain bolt, a new sump drain bolt, Torx bits to undo the under tray and i think thats it. If your going to replace the oil filter you'll need a 36mm socket to undo it and obviously a new filter as they are a cartridge type. its a prety straightforward job. It can get rather messy when you undo the oil filter as it will run out, I slackened mine off a few turns at a time so it didnt all come gushing out
-
Have you seen the Jetex exhaust? Im currently waiting to fit one to mine but they sound amazing. slightly louder on idle and cruising then the stock system but comes alive when you give it the beans
-
Going to service my car tomorrow and would like to know something.
Its currently on variable service but I do alot of short journeys and so Id like to set it to fixed.
If i drain the oil and replace the filter etc, will the car automatically set itself to fixed or will i need to reset it using the dash method (even though the service light isnt on? )
Thanks

I know nothing about the diesel models but having had a Mk1 vRS and gone to a Mk2 vRS i can say the MK2 is mre comfortable. The boot is about the same size as the Mk1
-
looking in the sticker in my boot i have Gearbox code GVT? This seems to come up though as being a 1.9 engined gearbox in a google search? Is that correct even though my car is a 2007 vRS TFSI??
Cheers

The mk1 was remaped to about 220bhp and the mk2 which is standard feels about the same tbh. The interior of the mk2 is a lot nicer though. The impress was a great car, I put some borla replica headers on to make it sound like a turbo and it was imense, I had a vortex afterburner on and it was loud lol. Could set car alarms off as I drove by. I loved that car, I only got rid cos I couldn't justify the 200 miles out of a tank of fuel costing 50 quid, that was 4 years ago, dread to think how much it costs now to fill up I do miss the scooby waves though from fellow drivers lol

Sometimes you have no coice but to warm it up. I find if i get into the car and drive off straight away it just steams up until the heating gets warm. Even driving with all the windows down the interior mirror and back window get steamed up
