23 Years old and pay £700 through Bell. My previous car which was a scooby, I got a quote of £320,000

no need to replace the cat as it really isnt a restriction in the exhaust system the bit before is the restrictive part so leave that bit.
i would look for a second hand centre section prob pick one up from breakers for £10 so much easier than cutting welding ect ect
I think its the other way round, The cat tends to be about 400 cell where as a sports cat are either 200 or even 100 cell

Well after waiting 3 weeks for my JOM redlines to turn up, I rang the company i had ordered them through and explained i had not recieved them yet. They told me JOM didn't have any in stock at there end. So the bloke told me that i could have some AP coilovers for the same price as i paid for the JOMS. Looking on here at reviews for the AP, there seems to be a general concensus there ****. Anyone no if they have improved or updated them?

You could go down the route of replacement OEM shocks with H&R springs. I think the reason why people dont is because after 5 or 6 years, the standard shocks on the car get abit squishy and with the stronger springs it can cause the shocks to fail. If you had new shocks I dont think it would be an issue

I get a little bit of a black cloud on my petrol octavia vrs. Just running abit rich which i would expect it to do because its been remaped and therefore more boost + more air and fuel
-
Not so much a definative answer but... If i was having these problems with my car i would go down the line of replace the backbox (as its free to do) see if its cured the issue. Failing that you could try a map for that specific turbo

Hi Peeps
I've just discovered that my hand brake is sticking on one side of the car (Passenger side) Does anyone know where i can get a new release thing (Not sure what the heck its called) The lever has a horrible feel, its very loose until about half way up. The drivers side is releasing fine.
Cheers
Sean

Hi Steve
Yeah I was looking at buying a pipercross filter and fitting to to a eBay cai pipe?
I've got an ebay CAI on mine and replaced the crappy filter that comes with it for a Jetex one. I went with the ebay one because i wasn't sure how low in the bumper the filter would sit.
I chopped about 3 inches off the pipe to raise the filter so it sits just under the headlights. I didn't fancy doing chopping up an expensive bit of kit (I was worried about the Crappy weather we have here submerging the filter and causing Hydro lock everytime i went through a deep puddle )

Wow thats prety unique, What kind of spoiler is that? It looks slightly smaller then those WRC ones (Unless its just the angle you've taken the pic at)
-
Mine also whistles, i just presumed this was normal or because of the CAI i have fitted
-
You should be able to find one on here
they sell loads of different custom exhaust parts
-
Depends on your budget really, If your thinking of going stage 2 remap in the future, your likely to need the following.
Downpipe with cat (200 or 100 cell)
Catback exhaust
uprated DV valve
CAI or uprated panel filter with modified airbox
Optional parts
FMIC
Silicon TIP
-
For me it would be:
Weitec coilovers
Turbo back exhaust
Remamp
FMIC
Dogbone bush
either a CAI or an uprated panel filter with modified airbox (Depends on your personal preference)
Good set of tyres
Short Shift
Uprated DV such as Forge 007
Better headlight bulbs (Standard ones are whick)

not 100% sure but i think the spring rates will be different. I imagine the octy will be a heavier car then the golf

The wires are right mate cheers. I've hooked up the gauge and will solder the wires in place tomorrow. I don't know why I bothered with the boost gauge as they aren't really necessary, but I had one lying around.
I find them usefull for identifying any issues with the turbo or problems like a VAC leak
Fitted My AP coilovers :)
in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)

Well after a Month of waiting for my Jom redlines to appear, I rang Venom Motorsport who told me that Jom did not have any redlines in stock :wonder:
The bloke on the phone then asked me if i would like to choose something else. At the time i just wanted the redlines, however, the bloke on the phone said he could give me some AP coilovers for the same price as the Joms (Result ) So 2 days later my AP's arrived and they looked great. However, looking at the part number is was clear they had sent me the Audi A3/ Beetle/ Leon/ golf mk4 versions not the Octavia. I was abit worried about this but had read that the AP's for the Octy are abit too soft, looking up the weights for my version they were capable of taking 1020kg on both axels where as the ones rated for the octy were only 1000kg. Once fitted i thought OH **** i've made a big mistake, i couldnt work out if they were abit bouncy because they were new, or because they were that stiff the ride was solid. After a week of driving they seem to be a little better but im still not sure if there bouncy or break your back rock hard and causing the car to bounce. There is absolutely no lean in the corners watsoever so im swaying towards the too stiff to really move explanation. Im totally used to it now and i love them. Here are some pics of them fitted
