Fabia Elegance advice needed please
Woolfy replied to Rickstarbo's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I have a 2001 1.4 16v and I have electric rear windows. As I said before, I think they were deleted throught the range in 2002ish. -
Fitting rear courtesy lights........
Woolfy replied to Steevie Wonder's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Great little guide:thumbup: I didn't know they were available in black as well. I've been thinking of fitting some lights to the tailgate of my Fabia estate to shine into the boot and work as puddle lights on the ground and want something that looks OEM. What bulbs do they take, as I think I will need 42mm 10w festoons to shine that far down? -
in a word yes the 288mm discs on the VRS go with the different VRS hubs, and these will take the 312mm (TT and other VAG cars) brakes as a straight swap, but the calipers and carriers need upgrading as the 288mm calipers and carriers don't fit. I do not know if the calipers and carriers from the 256mm set up will fit on the 288mm discs from the VRS, but my guess is not.

They are :pants: Steer well clear

Thanks Sarah:orb_blow_ -
Check out this link <-----clicky The part numbers are given at the bottom for the hubs and bearings, I have no idea on price though You can always look for a rear ended VRS at a breakers for them though
-
Just a quick point. You do know you will need new hubs and wheel bearings to fit the 288mm brakes don't you?

:iagree: How did they get the wrong bumper, did they not notice the difference? Oh dear, I hope it works out alright for you:thumbup: (now fades to credits with Rolling Stones "Paint it Black" playing out)

I was using a belkin fm transmitter ( agood one, not cheap end), which was fine in my Audi A3, but didn't work anywhere near as well in the Fab. The MS402 the car came with has no in for a cd changer for an aftermarket ipod connector to emulate to, so i needed a new head unit anyway, and i like the OEM look. The decison was then do I spend out on a denison or similar and have a brodit/dashmount bracket on display (my glove box is always full of stuff - two kids, and the beauty of the belkin is i can stash both it and the ipod in the underseat drawer i added under the driver's seat) or get a 6 cd changer that hides away under the seat (or boot - still not decided where to fit it). The changer won on price and sound quality, as although i have a 80gb classic with lossless files, it still isn't up to cd quality. Plus if Santa is really nice I can always add the denison kit later as well as the changer Whoops, hijacked your thread a bit there:O -
also, kicking the car off the jack isn't much fun. I put a whacking great hole in the floor pan of a Volvo doing this:O

I've just got Symphony and 6 cd changer purely because I was fed up with the quality of my ipod classic @AwesomeSarah - you couldn't get the part no's from your hubby for the underseat mounting for the cd player could you, as that's all i need to get to install the lot? -
Who'd be Santa:santa2:? - just once a year!:weeping: also feel free to moderate

It's going to misbehave for a while until the petrol in the tank is diluted away. GIve it some diesel every day, as the more diesel you put in the more dilute the petrol becomes. Also drive it "un-economically" if that makes sense, so you get rid of the tank of contaminated diesel sooner rather than later. HTH

So long as it is not a newer model, where the carrier is rivetted in -
I've got an alarm on my 2001 1.4 16v elegance estate, my duaghter thinks it's really fun to sit in the car and lock it with the central locking and then jump about til she triggers it:O My neighbours love me;)

To Tdi or Sdi? That is the question!
Woolfy replied to Goldmember's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
The fabia is heavier than the micra i think, so it is dreadfully slow. definitely take it for a good test, pulling away from junctions into traffic is going to be the main problem. -
that sounds like the kinda thing Pete Waterman would say to his missus:rofl:

I did say I would only get fluffing duties with that name:eek:

grinding when cornering from rear
Woolfy replied to wootton59's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Or it could be something stuck in the spring or wheel arch, or the wheel arch liner could be loose. It could also be a broken spring, that only moves under load. Get the wheel off and have a good look around (comparing it to the other side for reference) Check the wheel and tyre for any rub marks to discount that and then give the hub a damned good yank about to see if there is any play in it. New fact for the day! I thought the alarm was acoustic as well:)
