  1. You're definatley going to need a dealer there, or an hours subscription to erWin. The MkII Superb 'Outdoor' and 'Tour de France' are already rare enough, to then try and find unique piece of trim to that model is going to be a challenge. Why was it removed I wonder? Looking at the fluorescent sticker in its place I'm assuming it was deliberate...
  2. Despite the thoughts of some after seeing Skoda increase their list prices last month... ...as suggested, the price we pay for brand new cars is only going to go one way, down. Skoda and SEAT can do as they wish to their list prices, but what they take with one hand they'll have to give back with the other if they want to continue registering new cars and keep the production lines at capacity. Redundancies due to a looming recession (or at best an economic downturn) always hits new car sales. Those of us still lucky enough to have a job and be able to work from home will mean fleet sales will be decimated, homeworking will also see private commuting mileage severely reduced. Then there's diesel engines, and even now petrol engines too. They are under more pressure than ever before to survive, and personally I don't fancy their chances. If you've always fancied a 2.0 litre diesel SUV then now's your chance, a fully loaded Tarraco with change from £28,000 might be a flavour of things to come. Unless the 2.0 TSI is more expensive then quite why anyone who doesn't tow or cover intergalactic mileage would buy a diesel right now is beyond me. Presumably the Arnold Clarke discount doesn't already include the SEAT UK offer of a £3,000 discount, assuming you'd be able to finance it using a PCP?

I would imagine the default perspective from the Police and insurance companies would be that the onus is on the vehicle behind to ensure they maintain a safe gap and thus be able to stop in time, including if the incident was due to either a legitimate or spurious activation of the Front Assist system. The exception as you point out might be if the leading vehicle could be shown to be driving equally without due care and attention i.e. braking checking/testing the following vehicle, their response being that it is always safer to pull over or to slow sufficiently to allow the tailgating driver to pass.

It's preferred location was to stow it on it's longest side on top of the transmission tunnel, however if one of the rear seats were still required the solid parcel shelf could be stored upright on its end in one of the rear footwells if required. Not ideal, but doable. The Kodiaq is neat, the retractable roller cover can be removed, as usual, but there is a dedicated space for it under the boot floor on top of the spare wheel, There are two flaps in the boot floor, one on each side that allow the full width of the aperture to be opened up to slot the roller cover in...
  5. On my Octavia hatchback and Superb the solid parcel shelf stored up against the back of the front seats when the rear seats were folded down.
  6. They're one and the same. On models without rain sensing wipers the first position up on the stalk is intermittent, on models with rain sensing wipers this is the 'Auto' or on position. The rain sensing wipers will only operate with the wipers in the first position...
  7. Are you doing all four? If so just paint them the brightest silver you can find, as long as they all look the same. Your alloys are called the Vega... They're too old to benefit from having the paint code stamped on the rear of the spokes. Audi L1H7 is popular and a very close match to a lot of Skoda silver alloys...
  8. There are several joints held together by plastic connectors, they're the same on both the hatchback and estate i.e. weak and brittle over time. The wet boot carpet confirms that each time you operate the rear wash you're filling the boot with screen wash. So yes, a failed connector is highly likely to be the probable cause and yes the boot side carpet needs removing to properly access and repair the connector. There will be some subtle differences with the way the carpet is fixed between the hatch and estate, but they'll also be a lot of similarities. Buy yourself some trim removal tools... There will probably be a good degree of similarity with other VAG estates too...
  9. The paint code is on the rear of one of the spokes, it is a three-digit extension to the alloy wheel part number... In this example "silver/8Z8". The part number for the alloy wheel is 5E0601025B, the colour or paint code is 8Z8... In addition to the Silber (silver) there is Schwarz (black) and Weiss (white), all with unique three digit paint codes...

Too late, the software has been updated, the only way to revert back to the previous sensitivity will be to either remove the software update (the dealers won't do this, even if you offer to pay), or find someone with VCDS or OBDeleven to adjust the sensitivity back to previous levels for you.
  11. Since buying the E220 saloon last year to replace my MkII Superb I've been pretty impressed with its solidarity and comfy mile munching ability. But, I kind of wish I'd bought something a little more exciting. I also miss the huge accessible boot of the Superb. I looked at the CLS at the time, but didn't want to spend the extra money. A quick look recently on Autotrader and I was amazed how cheap the pre-facelift CLS is. Being based on my E-Class and with the same 7G gearbox it should be pretty familiar. Going to look at this one next week... It's a CLS350 so has the 3.0 V6 diesel engine, is a 2014 and covered just under 80K, for a smidge under £13,000 before negotiation. A quick look on Autotrader to see what that sort of money would get me from Skoda and their Superb left me realising that either Skoda's are no longer cheap, or the CLS isn't loved. Sure, its a couple of years younger, but £13K can't even get me into a MkIII L&K... Merc's aren't cheap to service, and the V6 engine will only get me early 40's mpg, but it should be a little more fun than the E-Class and the Superb.

  13. A fellow member kindly shared this link over on the Octavia forum. It's the first I've seen that lists all the PR codes out from the VIN. All of the others I've seen require you to type in each PR code.   15. Apologies if this has been covered before, a quick search didn't reveal much clarity. Are there two types of LED light clusters for the Kodiaq? 1) Rear LED 2) Rear LED High Do the standard LED rear lights consist of LED tail and brake lights with regular filament bulbs for the indicators and reverse lights? Whereas the difference between the regular rear LED lights and the 'High' version is the change from filament indicator and reverse light bulbs to 'full' LED?
