  1. Yay! Another week off work! Boo! A whole week away from my Furby  I'm going mountain biking in Jockland with my cousin, but he'd rather we took his, ahem, Toyota Corolla. I begged and banged on about how lovely the furbster is i.e. the smiley headlights, cute curvy butt etc but to no avail. Ah well, just means I'll have to thrash it even harder when I come home
  2. Paul Simon - Graceland. Reminds me of my ex who buggered off to America for three months just 5 days after asking me out. He did eventually come back to me, but drove me up the wall, so 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover is now more approriate heh heh
  3. er, about a mile across town! Saw them once at the barras, really cool. Next day saw Del Amitri at King Tuts, Glasgow. Even better! The new Rig stuffs a bit darker, more lead guitar / programming loops. Not as much bagpipe but still a fair bit of Gaelic
  4. Protect and Survive - Classic! Remember the Carlsberg ad featuring An Ubhal As Airde? Got them on Top of the Pops! Fichead Bliadhna
  5. Cool! Haven't heard their new stuff, but Fifteen Years / Dog Train / Beautiful Day are all good ones. Have fun in the mosh pit! :rock_band
  6. Yay! Someone else who's heard of Runrig! I met them last year at Carlisle - from a women's point of view the new lead singer has a nice butt Siol Ghoraidh's always a good one to headbang to - believe it was on the set list for the Spotlight / Searchlight tour. Try The Levellers or Counting Crows, or if you're up for goth rock, The Mission weren't too bad!
  7. I worked in a school office for nearly 3 years and with the exception of some of the parents and some of the nit infested kids, Ofsted were the scariest people I ever had to deal with. Mind you, the finance auditors were a bit freaky too!
  8. OK. Last week the poor fella got scraped on a wall. I've got over that now. But ... went out to Furby this morning to find someone had chucked a can of lager over the bonnet, crushed the can and stuffed it under one of the front wipers. Damn! Damn! Damn! Oh well, at least he aint got another scrape
  9. Yeah I saw the Tudor on skoda-auto.com. Very nice But...check out the Skoda Ahoj - it's hideous! Like a very odd Lupo. What's with the corrugated bonnet? :thumbdwn:
  10. I fix computers in PC World...and try not to laugh at the numpty customers who ask stupid questions e.g. 'Can I run Half Life 2 on my 1985 IBM?'!
  11. My first was a dark green 98 Felicia GLi. First one owned by our family was a red Favorit LXIE, complete with wonky front bumper, noisy tappets (like a castanet cabaret act in full swing) and 4 hubcaps, all of which were entirely different to each other. Mind you it was better than our previous car (Lada Samara!!!)
  12. AARRGGHH!!! I've just had my first week off work in 9 months, which you'd think would be great. It is ... until some **** runs you off the road into a dry stone wall. Well, the aforementioned **** in crappy Citroen comes hurtling round a bend in the road. Two choices, get the front of the car splattered, or swerve outta the way. I went for the 'swerve' tactic. I now have a lovely 2" scrape on my rear wheelarch, courtesy of a nicely placed wall. Grrr :( The venting of my anger is now complete. I'm off to Halfords for a scratch repair kit, then to Asda for a bottle of Absinthe.
  13. I was learning to drive in a VW Golf, and REALLY wanted one. But, I only had enough money for a P reg VW Polo CL ... or ... an S reg Felicia GLi! I thought bugger it and went for the higher spec / lower mileage Skoda. Loved it so much I've now got a Furby Comfort 1.4
  14. My 1998 S reg Felicia GLi had PAS, which made an odd hissing sound when it was cold.
  15. Hi! Just found this site at the weekend and it's pretty cool. I own a Fabia 1.4 Comfort which, although it dosen't fly like a vRS, is a hell of an improvement on my old Felicia. Big hi to all Cumbrians with Skoda's!
