  1. Hope they aint going to charge you for these unsuccessful 'repairs'..... Surely they can not charge for not fixing the problem? After all, they are supposed to be the 'experts', trial & error surely is not chargable??
  2. How does the plasticoat deal with pressure washers?
  3. As above, you need to register.....
  4. Where did you get your bumper protector from? I bought one from SuperSkoda - genuine part & it just sits on top of the bumper where as yours & h3srr's covers the top completely and the edge. Thanks.
  5. Had mine via this broker: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Octavia-vRS-hatch-estate-car-deals-contracts-from-190-VAT-pm-/182093981675?hash=item2a65a5a7eb:g:YNgAAOSwNSxU20Ss, Was a totally painless experience & saved me £6776 delivered to my door on a truck, 4 miles on the clock! The car came from Simpsons Skoda in Preston so was a full UK car with UK warranty, etc.
  6. You would probably be able to save that or very close to that if you bought a new car to your spec via a broker. I saved almost £6800 and had a UK car with full warranty.
  7. Here we go, not cheap..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-OCTAVIA-MK3-CUSTOM-BLACK-BADGE-TAILGATE-REAR-BOOT-/391208854861?hash=item5b15dd654d:g:JAMAAOSwMmBVsnrx
  8. The SuperSkoda black logo badges are also black magic, the black letters on ebay are just solid gloss black, so getting the originals painted in black magic would be a better option as the car is black magic in my opinion. I think it would look great!
  9. Absolutely! My sentiments exactly!!! I'd be wanting a bloody sight more than a £50 tank of petrol!!!
  10. Same here, I used paypal too, had a delivery of more goodies today!! Mud flaps fit perfect, come in proper Skoda bags, genuine parts & half price, sorted!
  11. Tell them to shove it up their pipe, then, as you will have to wait another 12 weeks, re-order with NEW-CAR-DEAL.co.uk and save yourself 15-20%!!! Every cloud, etc!!!
  12. Thats what I'd expect to be honest. If I get the same as the Altea I'd be happy even though with all the tech it should be 50+.......
  13. Well, after 1000 miles I'm averaging 37mpg which I feel is rubbish!! With all the modern technology I'd have expected mid 40's to start with then with a view of it going to be averaging 50mpg on a regular basis after it loosened up. My 5 speed 1.9PD Altea which was re-mapped to 140bhp was averaging 46mpg with over 170k miles on it - low geared & no eco gizmos!! One of my colleagues has a 13 plate 160bhp Insignia and he averages mid/high 50's mpg with regular 90mph journeys! And before I have the "what do you expect with a VRS?", well I expect it to be doing somewhere near to what the manufacturers actually claim! If economy wasnt a concern I'd have bought a nice revvy quiet petrol not the tractor engined version! Various high power BMW 4 cylinder diesels are easily achieving 50+mpg so its I feel I'm not unhappy without reason. Surely the whole point of a diesel version is for the extra economy?
  14. The only problem I have with my fuel gauge is that it goes down too quickly! Crap economy at the moment to the point that if it continues there'll be an email to Skoda UK! Great car, economy is pathetic.........
  15. They are the 40 euro ones off Superskoda, not cheap but they are black magic metallic so match the grill surround & mirror covers perfectly. As for ease of removal, erm, its not! I tried the way people recommend - hair dryer & dental floss but after 30 mins of getting nowhere & about 300 yds of floss I lost the plot & used a proper heat gun, warmed up the badge until it started to distort and peeled it off!! The badge is actually three parts - the black bit is a soft plastic & the logo & chrome ring are bonded to it - it all comes apart with the heat. Biggest problem with the floss method is that the badges are recessed into the panel so its not as simple as it seems. I changed the rear & changed the letters too - used the hair dryer on the letters as it got them hot enough & just pulled them off with my finger nails. Car was only a few days old so I guess they hadnt been on long enough for the glue to really bond..... As for the roof bars - BALL ACHE! They must be reverse fixed from underneath & I wasnt about to remove all the pillar trims, interior lights, headlining, etc, so there are a few joins, but it still looks great, to me!
  16. With the wrapped roof..... Guy said it was an absolute bar-steward due the roof bars not being removed (actually said never again). Downfall is there had to be cuts/joins to go around the bar fixings, but still, I think it looks good.....
  17. Don't think Mirror Link supports Windows phones........ :-( Whats annoying is its a new car with the upgraded (Columbus) system and there were more features on my 2010 Altea with the standard bluetooth!!
  18. Theres a pad the same shape as the badge moulded into the grille (part of the grille) and the badge is fixed to it using the usual double sided take manufacturers use.
  19. Drop Terry an email at New-Car-Deal, saved me almost 20% on my vRS diesel. Great to deal with, hassle free, best deal I could get by a grand. PCP, PCH, outright purchase, whatever you want. http://www.new-car-deal.co.uk/
  20. Okay, had the car a few days and a few things are boiling my pee! Really hope its just me not setting it up properly... So:- Phone connects to car, all good. Calls are good, clear, etc. BUT when connected I no longer have any audible notifications from the phone when I have a text/email/whatsapp, etc. My Altea had the factory VAG/BT bluetooth set up and didnt silence the phone when connected. Now, if I'm parked up and send a text/email/whatsapp message when the phone is connected to the car the phone is silent when typing/sending/receiving..... Following on from the above, when in the Altea, if I had a text it would automatically get read out to me and I could command via the voice control - nothing I'd set up, it happened automatically when the phone was connected. This was a great feature which I can't believe isnt available on the Octy being as its 6 years newer & got the Columbus upgrade..... Also, I can not access the phone directory/names list via the MFSW. Again, with the Altea, I could get the directory up on the dash display and use it accordingly - all I can get up on Maxidot is call history which is crap! Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, the phone is a Nokia Windows phone........
