Fuel flap lockable
It should be locked when the car is. Check and lubricate the locking mechanism, does it spring out if you press it in, does it move or rotate when you lock/unlock the car ?

SD card alternatives
I used to have an SD card in the Amundsen in my Octavia, very useful on holiday trips to France and Germany when whatever the locals are broadcasting doesn't quite meet our tastes. I've now got a Scala, with Bolero and android auto, what would be the best and most elegant way of playing music off my phone if I stuck it all on there ?

New to DSG, am i right...
or I'm too busy stopping frequently delivering parcels/food / cleaning bins / looking for thenext pickup so i'll just leave them on all the time, 'cos that covers me for all options and means i don't have to bother taking my eyes off my phone to look in my mirror

Scala,front tyre wear.
what depth of tread have you got left, and what sort of tyres are they ? I still have 5mm of tread left after 11k

Oil
You say 'oil warning' Oil level or oil pressure warning ? if the latter, you may need to do more than just top it up

More storage needed
@Britunculus do let us know what you find that fits. I miss the underseat pockets from the Octavia (I wonder if i could have kept them and swapped them in ?)

Skoda connect Lite app
Does anyone have any experience of the Skoda connect Lite app, does it do anything useful ? and does anyone know if it is compatible with the VW connect data plug to be seen on Ebay ? I'd guess the software on both was identical but that does'nt mean to say they havent been made incompatible

Back plate insecure
They just corrode around the mounting bolts, and make a fairly startling noise if they come loose, as mine did. As they were both totally insecure I applied brute force and ignorance to remove them. I did wonder how easy they would be to replace, in an ideal world they'd have their own securing screws, but it looks like they share part of the caliper mountings or something. Certainly wouldn't want to pay £70 a side to replace

bolero icons

Clearing data from Amundsen SatNav
Is there an easy way to remove all ones data (home address, favourites, last used, etc, etc) before selling a car ?. If there's a reset option, I'd be happy to give it a go

To Scala or not to Scala
I'm looking to downsize from an Octavia (don't do the mileage i used to, and I'm paying for this, not the company) so I'm looking at a used Scala, probably petrol, probably a 1.5 What are the known issues, and any notable plusses/minuses people are aware of ? thanks

Clutch pedal sticking / not returning, any ideas ?
I had the joy of driving (ha) the linear car park known as the M6 and A14 this weekend (if you were stuck in the queue southbound on the M6 this afteroon, i feel for you). On the way down on friday the clutch felt a bit odd once or twice, the biting point was very low and the pedal didnt seem to return smoothly not using the car all weekend I forgot about it, until in the middle in heavy traffic at the M6/56 junction the clutch pedal just didn't come back up. Managed to get to the hard shoulder and return the clutch pedal and it seemed to resume normal operations, so managed to get the remaining 25 or so miles home driving very gingerly. I'll be getting it looked at shortly (it had the skoda handbrake problem occur on thursday evening, so im taking it to a local VAG specialist) but i wonder if anyone has any ideas - fluid levels look OK. I've not checked yet, but is there a return spring ?

Fuel flap not opening
@BJM did your replacement actuator come with or without a cable, I've seen them for sale online with and without ? Also is it possible to replace the unit without removing the boot interior trim (which I guess might be possible if you can disconnect the cable at the actuator end, but no-one ive seen on youtube did that)

Fuel flap not opening
Have managed to get it open with a bit of brute force and ignorance, if anyone can point me in the direction of resources on how to replace the unit, it would be appreciated

Towbar question
i guess you have reasons for choosing a towbar mount - I considered one but decided on roof mounting eventually. As i get older it's more of an effort to load the bikes on, but that's probably no harder than whatever you have to do to get in the back of the car if you have a towbar mount And i remember seeing an Insignia with two adult and two kids bikes on a ferry in rotterdam and thinking 'I don't fancy that' and about 10k down the motorway I saw the bike rake, then the Insignia 500 metres down the road. On the other hand I have nearly knocked the bikes off on one of those barriers meant for keeping caravans out of car parks, and while the setup i have on my hatchback (with roof bars) has never given any problems, the previous setup on the estate (with roof rails) had to be seriously tightly secured if it wasn't to sneak its way to the back of the car

Cigar/Power socket
Thanks, thats interesting, but i'm a bit clumsy at that sort of thing and can see the car as a burnt out wreck if I give that a try
