  1. £5 was mentioned....... We still doing the secret santa if we are not eating? J
  2. As you can see from my sig, vRS 170CR. Factory fitted with Conti SC 2 - Fronts lasted 28k (changed when just about 2.5mm left - don't like to leave it too late) and the rears still had about 3.5mm on when I changed over to the winters at 36.5k 2 weeks ago. I would say that I have an occasional heavy right foot, but IMHO I think they've lasted pretty well. Mix of driving but not that much city driving (25% max). Usually the boot is full of work stuff....... J
  3. Arrived back about 1900 after a stop at Cite Europe for diesel and a few bits of food, beer, wine & spirits - so glad the car was empty on the way back Agree it was a good Brisky meet - that Glühwein was good and kept me going (the last one we had with the 'added extra' was even better ) A quick note of thanks to Steve for sorting the hotel booking out along with his knowledge of German (and not forgetting Kathy's as well!). Thanks also needs to go to Si for suggesting Dusseldorf (I know his suggestion was ROC, but the fact that we could go and do something other than ROC, means he gets a mention). Will have to start looking at next year's trip now so we can all save our pennies for it! Suggest we go somewhere colder, for a more Christmas feel? J
  4. Called up on Monday (couldn't find the card, normally keep with my passport; so I called the 'I've lost my EHIC card' line); delivered today So, there are parts of the government that work....... J
  5. Count me in - can I pay you my deposit when we meet in Dusseldorf? J
  6. Steve, Many thanks for organising the hotel rooms for all of us J
  7. I'm happy to go with either - It's only for one night. Must admit that I'm with Karen - would prefer 'modern' over 'character' - just what I'm used to I suppose Option two does have a tram stop pretty much outside the entrance to the hotel, so would that make it easier to get to the Christmas market? J
  8. For some reason, the off-side of my car has mud splatters all the way down, but the near side is pretty clean..... You didn't wipe the mud off when you got back in did you??? J
  9. Steve, Sent you a PM - I'm coming....... J
  10. I want to come, but I'm in negotiations with SWWO (long story) - I'll let you know if I'm going to be able to come as soon as I know!!! J
  11. Well, my drivers seat in the UK is on the right hand side of the car (the same side of the car as the taxi I was in when I was in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago). As to what side the indicators are on, I guess manufacturing costs are lower if all vehicles a manufacturer makes have the indicator stalk on the same side (as only one part needs to be produced)? J
  12. Sorry for the slow reply - I've been in New Zealand........ Tickets are at my house waiting for me to get back See you all soon. J
  13. I'll admit that there should have been quite a few more laydeez present (25 in total were missing, by my count), and where was the pitch? You can't play rugby indoors!!!! Maybe they were part of a union side that went to become a league side :p ?
  14. Is it this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW0Fp16XhZo Justin
  15. Ah, and there I was thinking it would something mind blowing! I can safely say that I'm not going to venture back to the White Rabbit any time soon....... Overpriced, small portions and poor everything else :(
  16. Is Steve paying for everyone to eat and drink ? Glad you and Steve had a good weekend - Did you go to the wedding in the Smart? At least everyone would have known the the grooms parents had arrived !!!! At least no one would nick your wheelie bin ! What are you saying about the pubs in Maidstone? J
  17. Ok Steve, what is different? (Heading of "Maidstone Meet October 2011 Slightly different this one") Been looking at this for a while now and can't see it........ Is it Kathy will drive up in her new Fabia? Another clue maybe? J
  18. Hi Guys, I've sent PM's to everyone who has posted a maybe........ Hope to hear from you soon. Justin
  19. Arrived on time, and no one except b33fy and Beryl's Chief Pilot are here, so we've moved on to somewhere more lively! J
  20. Hi All! I'm putting out a feeler to see if anyone is interested in going to the Leeds Castle Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday 5th November. This year, the display will be set to music inspired by 'space'. This **should** be the same day that Steve arranges the regular Maidstone (November) meet . I've been in touch with the box office at Leeds Castle, and if we can arrange to get 15 or more of us, we can get tickets at the following prices: Adult - £15 (normally £18) Child aged 4-16 years - £9 (normally £10) Under 4's are free According to the box office, the fireworks start at 1730, and finish at about 1800. If this is a go, then I would suggest that we could all meet at the Maidstone Services on the M20, by say 1630, and then all go together to Leeds Castle......... If anyone is interested, then I'm happy to collect names and number of tickets, and then do a group booking. To do this, I would need payment in full (as that is what Leeds Castle want when I book the tickets) by Saturday 1st October (date chosen as there **should** be the regular Maidstone meet on this night - last chance to pay for your ticket in person!). I'll then get tickets out to everyone via the post if you give me your details. I'm going to be at the September meet so if you are interested and want to pay for your ticket in person, or want more info I'll see you there. If you might not be at the meet, then drop me a PM and I'll add your name to the list and can sort out payment. Justin
  21. Got my ticket!!!! Looking forward to a day at Brands Thinking about going on the Saturday now if I can juggle a few things around....... J
  22. Same for me too..... A bit much to get from anywhere near Twickenham in a car to Maidstone at a sensible time! Still, might be a good laugh to try! Will defo see you all in September. Justin
  23. No key on the roof (it was running on 4 AA batteries that day), but I did say that if I slammed on the brakes hard enough, it would have fitted quite nicely into the boot of my car! We could have got a refund on one ticket, as we would have all been in one car! J
