  1. Don't forget that the fog light cannot individually be adjusted as the whole light unit is one piece, so turning that screw is also going to alter the settings for the dipped and main beam.
  2. As far as I can see there is no beam setting test for the fog lights. I suspect they mean the head light dipped beam is too low. Mind you the OP is (reportedly) in Norway so perhaps they have different rules.
  3. Not very high: 1100kg https://www.parkers.co.uk/kia/soul/hatchback-2014/sport-16-t-gdi-201bhp-dct-auto-5d/specs/
  4. Don't think I have ever seen a broken one reported. And most anti-roll bars are hollow.
  5. Funny, but although it is black inside I don't find the cabin dark.
  6. Having had an expensive N0x failure with the Yeti at the start of the year, we decided to look for a petrol hybrid, but were constrained by needing one that was capable of towing our caravan, Taking that and budget into account didn't leave many options and having looked at what was available and having visited a Kia dealers decided on a Niro 2 HEV. Would have liked the PHEV but not having a drive or garage we couldn't have a charging point fitted. We went for the base "2" spec because it comes on 16" wheels and not the silly low profiles. Even at this level there are lots of toys, from rear camera to adaptive cruise control. Seats are comfortable, raised and have plenty of adjustment. Rear seats are split 30/60 and when folded form a flat load bed. Leg room in the back is excellent. Boot is bigger than the Yeti and has very useful storage area beneath. Load cover is a retractable blind. Ride is good, but it does roll a bit more than the Yeti, but it seems to be more than adequate for me. Haven't done a lot of miles, obviously, but today we went for a run from home to Machynlleth and then up the Cardigan Bay coast and did 98 miles and according to the trip meter managed 66 mpg, which for a 1.6 I am very happy with. Things that stand out: The regenerative braking, once I'd worked out how it works and how I can control it, is amazing and possibly better than the Yeti's engine braking. How damned quiet it is! You don't realise how much you use road noise to judge speed until there is very little. I find I have to readjust as it is too easy to exceed the 30 limit, for example. Digital AND analogue speedo in MPH, but I haven't worked out if the digital can be changed to KPH when (if) we go to France. And if you think that the Yeti Handbook was big, don't buy a Kia!! It's over 300 pages! EDIT to answer Stubod On electric I'm told that even mine will do 30 miles and from what I have seen so far I am happy to believe that.
  7. Haven't a clue I'm afraid. Been out of touch with the motor trade in Brum for too many years, other than a friend in Solihull.
  8. From a quick Google search the nearest auto-electricians to you seems to be in Hall Green
  9. Shame you didn't tell us this at the start but I suspect that is where your "problem" arises. I suspect that the wiring between the door and the pillar has breaks in it and these are "earthing" and flattening the battery. This is a problem that has occurred with the drivers door on some models. There is a new extended loom available from the dealers, but it can also be repaired by soldering new longer wires in place. For that you will probably need someone who knows what they are doing. Cost: how long is a piece of string? All you can do is ring and ask them.
  10. Exactly which light is showing on the dash? Fog lights have never been automatic. The only "automatic" lights are the side and headlights, and I'm not sure whether they were fitted to a Yeti of that year. Fog lights are switched on by pulling the switch out when it positioned for the side or headlights. If you have an "auto" setting on your switch then it has to be moved away from that setting to the side light setting to turn the fog lights on.
  11. I used to be a rep for a garage supplies company in Brum so know the area, and used to have a garage customer in Bearwood. Unfortunately they have now closed. I presume you have checked that you haven't accidentally left the rear fog light on? If not this sounds like there could be a problem and the best person to look at that will be an auto-electrician. I can ask my friend if he knows anyone, if you like. And I'm sorry to say this, but if you have bought a diesel and are only doing short journeys you are potentially heading towards problems. Modern diesels do not like journeys like that and get clogged up.
  12. I'm always very suspicious when people say they need a 4x4 because of "a steep track". Whilst it might provide some extra traction up hill it does very little down hill. Gravity always wins!
  13. NO!! Do NOT let the engine run with the alternator not connected to the battery!! That risks damaging the alternator.
  14. First thing we need to know is exactly what Yeti you have bought, (engine size, registration year, manual or auto) and what types of journeys you are doing. Worth noting that at the moment lots of people are having battery problems due to not using their cars. Frankly I wouldn't trust Halfords to touch a child's scooter. You are much better using a proper mechanic or auto-electrician. The latter I suspect will be the best option so they can trace and test for any problems. Which part of Brum are you in? I have a friend with a garage in Solihull you may be able to recommend someone.
  15. I stand corrected, but the only time my alarm has gone off it definitely sounded like the normal horn.
  16. As standard there is no siren or back-up battery. The alarm uses the normal horn.
  17. Not unusual. You just need to reset the "one touch" feature. On the drivers door panel check which window has lost the function. Using that switch take the window, down then up. When up release the switch then rehold it up for about 10 seconds. That should reset it. On mine it always seems to be the drivers window that is affected.
  18. No they aren't all like that, and no it isn't a common problem, in fact I've never seen it mentioned in the past. Sounds like the pivot has broken.
  19. What "same day fuel gauge"? I've had Yeti's for 10+ years and never found that.
  20. Would have gone for the PHEV, but with no drive or garage we can't have a recharging poing, so just gone for the HEV. It still should give 30 miles which is adequate for getting around town here. Interior colour didn't worry us, in fact I thought it was quite light and airy inside. Only gone for the 2 spec as that comes on 16" wheels and not the silly 18" all the other specs come with. Dealer rang me yesterday to say it should arrive that afternoon and said that they have up-spec slightly, so don't know what the difference is going to be. Certainly seems to have lots of toys even at base spec
  21. Definately Muscavado
  22. That's why I've moved away and bought a Kia Niro, which I should be collecting next week.
  23. What year is her car? Only if the car is bluetooth equiped. It was not a standard fitment. BT unit will be under the drivers seat.
  24. There are plenty of All Terrain tyres in all the 16" approved sizes fitted to Yetis. Look at the list of approved 16" sizes in the Tyre & Wheel thread in the Yeti Guides section. There are currently no AT's in the 17" size. Do you have a Yeti?
  25. 15" wheels were NEVER a Yeti fitment!! The only sizes Skoda fitted were 16" or 17"
