  1. It has nothing to do with wheel revolutions!! As has been pointed out there is an in-built inclinometer that works with the system. And no-one knows what angle is needed. Can I suggest that you read the Owners Handbook; the section about the Off Road Button is probably one of the best written pieces in there.
  2. And? All I see is the standard under engine shielding. Why are you concerned?
  3. Nope! The only Yeti's that were "lowered" were the Greenline models, all others were exactly the same, Urban or Outdoor. And any other difference were purely cosmetic, like differently painted bumpers.
  4. All models have an engine under tray, as it is supposed to improve the aerodynamics and reduce fuel consumption. In fact it is common on nearly all cars nowadays. And speaking from experience, even the standard ones are quite resilient to knocks. A stronger and thicker plastic "sump guard" (undertray) along with a few other protection bits was available as part of the Rough Road Package. Skoda have never offered a metal "sump guard" in the UK.
  5. I suggest that you study the qualities of all the specifications of the oils recommended by Skoda, in particular those meeting 507 spec.
  6. I suspect I might get worried at 140 degrees. And all my Yetis used the officially approved oil, so that was a pointless question. My first Yeti did over 110k miles, all lot of them working hard towing and off road, and it still didn't use any oil between services.
  7. There is an electronic inclinometer fitted, that works a couple of systems, including the HDC. It doesn't matter whether you are in forward or reverse gear. And the regulation of the braking occurs in the central ABS unit not at the wheel cylinders. Sometimes you can hear the valves chattering as they move the braking around to different wheels. And a bit of advice; never use the HDC in neutral. Although it does work then, it means that you don't have the ability to use a bit of power to get you out of a dodgy situation.
  8. You must be joking! I know I've seen 120 degrees when towing with NO problems.
  9. I had Yeti's for 10 years, I towed with them, I mud plugged with them, I generally mistreated them. I NEVER had an oil temperature alarm, and there is NO mention of such alarm in any of the technical stuff I have seen.
  10. I don't think there is an alarm for high oil temp.
  11. Yes zinc inclusion are fairly common, but not just on Skodas, seems to affecting other VAG cars as well now. Speedo LED, not a very common problem at all. One way valve, again not a very common problem. Turbo actuator, again not a very common problem. Door loom, only affects a limited time range of cars. And do you really expected a 9 year old car to be perfect?
  12. Find another garage!
  13. My last one was like that.
  14. I'm only 5'7" and never found the hatch difficult to close.
  15. Re-coding after a battery change would not have been required on a car 10 years old. I changed the battery on my 2010 Yeti without doing so, with no problems. It was only required when Stop/Start was introduced and a different construction battery was fitted, around 2015.
  16. Looks totally normal
  17. As far as I remember the differences were purely cosmetic.
  18. Because if you are in a lower gear you are reving the engine more and therefore making it hotter. You need to be able to keep the revs OVER 2500 rpm; I thought it said that in the Handbook!
  19. We've just changed to a DSG type car and it took us about 5 miles to get used to the new "system".
  20. Note, the Off-Road Button does not turn the 4 wheel drive system on. That is done automatically by the Haldex system, which is sensing permanently.
  21. Never bothered to look in the 10+ years I've towed with my Yeti's. Don't worry about it.
  22. But you are never going to get comparable consumption figures between a Yeti and an Octi. The Octi is lower, lighter and more aerodynamic. whereas the Yeti is a heavy brick.
  23. Cheap jewellery!!!!! Cheeky beggar!! Currently adorned with a 18c gold Welsh dragon and all the others are similar, plus a 24c teddy bear that was my mothers. And not a Tatra 87, but the (ex?) Technical Rep for the Skoda Owners Club of GB, who was living near Abergavenny, had 2 later rear engine Tatras, along with other "strange" Eastern European stuff
  24. Nah!! At 60 I declared I would start to grow old disgracefully, and if that includes playing silly games then let's go for it!! And the first thing I did was got my ear pierced.
  25. Before it was part exchanged last month, V rated All Seasons.
