  1. I have had this problem as well, if I do remove the plastic trim at the bottom of the windscreen as I,m going to do the pollen filter at the same time, do you have to re seal the plastic trim or does it just slot it place. Or can you get the pollen filter out without removing the plastic trim?? Cheers
  2. Hi The computer is saying my secondary air pump is faulty, the fault code comes back as secondary air pump fault, will repairing the rivets solve this, possibly, as this seems to be the main issue people have come across, I haven,t actually looked at mine yet, or is it beyond repair and needs replacing or removing all together as its throwing up a fault code and engine light on dash as well. Any ideas Cheers
  3. Hi Does anyone know the D bush size on a 2002 Octavia VRS 1.8T please? Its either 21 or 23mm? Anyone fitted new 1,s to there,s? Cheers
  4. No not yet, I did phone them and they said they would have to do a diagnostics check as it had a fault and wanted to charge me £82 for the pleasure!!!!!!! Stuff that, so I got 1 off a friend with a garage, checked them 1 at a time, and now I,ll book it for recall as it hasn,t got a fault. I,m not paying £82 an hour I don,t want them to stick it on there computer as they will find out its been re mapped and may say we aren,t changing the coil packs lol Cheers chief
  5. It was a coil pack, 3rd one from the left Thanks for the advice everyone
  6. Forgot to say, the engine light flashed as I was driving, went off when I pulled up
  7. can anyone help, broke down today, loss of power, car runs but its like missing, running a cylinder down, juddering just not happy. And I got a strong eggy sulfur smell in the car. Anyone know what this could be? The green flag guy put it on his computer and all it said was "Running too rich", thats it Please help
  8. I,m miles away, just outside Sheffield M8, thanks for the message, any Idea what it could be?
  9. I will mate, same goes if you find anything out
  10. Thanks for your message mate yes the car runs sweet as there is an issue with the secondary air pump but thats all, I,ve been told this should be anything to do with the power issue. How do you know if its gone into limp mode? I had a fault code "Loss of pressure between the intercooler and turbo" but I,ve sorted that out now and no code coming up anymore. The only light thats ever come on is the engine light, and fault code comes up for the secondary air pump which I,m going to sort asap but again I was told this shouldn,t be a factor in the power issue. I,ve even gone and bought a code reader myself as I,m sick of paying garages lol
  11. I have a 2002 VRS, re mapped Sometimes the power just vanishes, it used to do it every so often, when you turned it off and started it again, the power would return and all was back to normal. Its started to do it more and more often, Now seems to do it everytime I use it, well 9 out of 10 times. I went to the coast the other day which is a 2 hour drive and it did it all way there and all way back, I would turn it off and then start it again and all would be fine for 5-10 minutes, and then back to no power. If I wind the window down, when the power is there I can hear the turbo whistling, when no power I can,t hear the whistling. There is no smoke coming from the exhaust so I think the turbo is ok. I,ve had it on several garages computers and there,s no faults showing. Please help as its doin my nut in now lol

  15. Hi I,ve had a flat spot for a while now on my 52 reg VRS I,ve had it re mapped but it had the flat spot before I had it re mapped. 17. Hi thereNot had the car that long but my VRS has always made like a blowing farting noise when started from cold, and then it knocks off with like a "peaw or Psssssssaw" noise after a minute or 2, is this normal???? I always thought it was the turbo warming up or something? But its started not doin it on the odd occasion and now its not done it at all for the last few days and not done it again this morning?Any ideas pleaseThanks
  18. I,m having a simular problem, mine has been re mapped as well, it will pull then like cut off and then kick in again like you say. I,m also havin a problem when its been stood overnight, not all the power will be there, turn it off, start it again and its ok, apart from the intermitent power I,ve had it to a garage, hooked up to a lap top and everything seems ok
