  1. Shouldn't have to use the shifter all the time - might as well have bought a manual.
  2. Does anyone have access to Skoda technical bulletins? My wife's car (19 plate Fabia) has had the turbo actuator rod seize for the second time and it was supposed to have been replaced the first time according to the bulletin the Skoda Assist technician who found the bulletin. If anyone can access this one TPI 2065785/2, I'd be very grateful. Car has extended warranty but they now want to charge us for the parts. When it seized the first time in June of this year, it was under the full manufacturers warranty. Cheers
  3. Hi Mr Toot, yes I tried Sport mode (mostly left it in Sport as its kicks down more readily TBH) and this is better, but pulling away it was still regularly an 'experience' as the delay in actually moving is still there. In Sport though, once the car has decided to move beyond a crawl, it would bolt off very rapidly requiring me to either have to rapidly let the accelerator loose or have to brake. So not an entirely comfortable solution on single track road junctions. In Sport it still can't decide what gear to be in but does sort it self out more quickly. Entering a downhill bend and braking rarely caused the gear box to change down a gear so you have power just before the apex to accelerate out of the bend. Again it does kick down more readily than when in Drive but still mostly after the apex and after I've pushed the accelerator... so still quite a delayed reaction. In Sport of course it holds the rev longer so we end up with the engine at high revs for quite a while until it realises I am no longer accelerating.
  4. So, we just spent a week in the hills and mountains of mid Wales. Beautiful area and well worth a visit - but not in a 2L diesel Kodiaq with DSG. The car was always hunting for the right gear, or refused to change down on up hill sections most times (just struggled in whatever gear it decided to be in unless I mashed the peddle to force a kick down) and then many times refused to change down to give some engine braking on the way down. Does it even know the attitude the car is in to inform it to drop a gear where starting up hill or going down hill? Even at junctions where speed was of the essence due to visibility it struggled to accelerate off the line making us feel very vulnerable. Overall a totally irritating and uncomfortable experience - even my daughter sat in the rear started asking if the car would ever change up or down a gear as it was so noticeable! Not convinced this is a DSG or Kodiaq trait so will be asking my dealer to reset the gearbox using their kit and check it over. Needless to say they I am sure will say they can't find a fault... if they say 'they are all like this / its a trip of the car' I'll get grumpy with them! Maybe I will also take a similar aged and engined car out for a long test to see if it's the same? Love the car, it ticks all the right boxes for us for practicality, size, looks and usability on A roads and motorways - hate the damn DSG gearbox on twisty/hilly B roads and single track mountain roads. Other auto's I've had rarely if ever irritated so much! *rant mode off and relax* Anyway... it looks pretty on the hill side at least
  5. Same here - had Scorpion Verde All Seasons on my Land Rovers and they were great. Have the non All Seasons out of factory on the Kodiaq. At 17K miles they look great still. Expect them to last well. Grip very well and are great in the wet too. Seems the All Seasons are not available for the 20" Sportline wheels though which is a shame as they are very good in the UK brand of snow we get.
  6. There's a new ICE Kodiaq coming: "During the transition phase to e-mobility, the brand is strengthening its product portfolio of highly efficient combustion engines and will be unveiling the new-generation SUPERB and KODIAQ in the second half of next year. A refreshed OCTAVIA will also follow in 2024"
  7. Many thanks. Will give this a go.
  8. Ah, good idea. Will try when someone calls and see what happens - cheers
  9. When connecting my iPhone either via CarPlay or Bluetooth, the ring tone volume of the phone is always pumped up to maximum. Setting the volume to where I want it (much lower) is forgotten the next time I connect the phone. Previous cars have always respected the lowered volume setting and have never jacked it up to full anytime I’ve connected. Is the a setting somewhere to stop this deafening habit by my Kodiaq?
  10. Thanks Teir, which peddle box did you fit? Was it easy to fit and do you remove it before any dealer visits for servicing etc?
  11. Carista looks interesting, especially for the throttle response setting. I find the gearbox/throttle beyond bonkers sometimes with its reluctance to drop a gear and its tendency to suddenly lurch when it finally decides to drop a gear (late). Do you or does anyone else have experience in using the app to customise the settings listed on their website? Are there better apps to use? (Apologies to the OP for slightly highjacking the thread)
  12. My understanding is the MIB2 (MY20) will offer a map update automatically when planning a route that has new map data available for that part of the map (i.e. the route thats plotted).
  13. There was an app update (iPhone) the other day, hopefully some fixes included.
  14. Just press the Home or Menu button. No worries. Didn’t take it as rude at all mate 👍🏼 have a lovely long weekend.
  15. I believe the MySkoda app uses the embedded SIM not the SIM that is used for infotainment (the one that shows connection status in the touch screen.
  16. Both the app and website were not working for a few days for me. Seems all ok again now...
  17. oh.. weird - its now working again
  18. Been unable to use the app or website for the last few days... logging out and back in again doesnt work and it seems my car is no longer listed. If I add it back it just fails with a server error. Anyone else having issues?
  19. Just noticed if you long press the Menu button, you'll get a (secret?) technical menu appear where you can see all the versions of software installed. not sure if that helps?
  20. Agreed. The Skoda green ambient lighting strips I like but no much the green touch screen and dash accents… pink a big no no 🤣 yea noticed the auto setting. Seems to just change to red when you flip the gearbox into sport though. Will stick to white I think.
  21. Yes I know Mine are all the way up in brightness and until its pretty much dark they are pretty much non visible. One thing I'm not a fan of though is the colour choice affects the accent colour on the touch screen and on the dash display.
  22. Also, I don't think you'd see it to be honest. When my headlights come on (set to auto), unless its actuallt pretty dark, you can't really see them in my Kodiaq.
  23. Are you using a Mac by chance? If so you need to use an app like CleanMyDrive 2 (thanks to the fine folk on the forum for reccomending this to me) to clear out all the MacOS hidden files. My Kodiaq (MIB2) wouldn't see any map update files until I used this to clean the USB stick on eject.
