Totally agree with that, if it's got no oil don't drive it as you risk totally wrecking the engine. -

might be worth putting a dry sheet of cardboard under the engine of the car if you can, that will catch any oil drips so you can see them. -
HELP ! Oil back to seriously low in 2 days
Waplord replied to tashauphill's topic in General Maintenance
Ok well lets go through some basics 1. Is the car smoking at all ? 2. Where its been parked is there any oil on the floor? 3. If you look around the engine bay with a torch can you see any oil splattered around? When you say you filled it with oil im assuming you filled it to the top level on the dipstick? Might be better if this thread was in the Fabia forum i'll report it to a mod to move it there. -

I suppose it just comes down to rather than the marque having arseholes for dealers its just if a dealer is an arse he's an arse! Skoda in Swansea are fantastic as are the Merc, VW and Audi dealers owned by the same group and the group that owns the Volvo, Mazda and Vauxhall dealers well lets just say the less said about them the better! Sadly Trainers BMW of Swansea fall into the arsehole category. -
White Van drivers, fed up of all the hatred directed at you? Simply paint your van as the A-Team van! other drivers will get out your way and gaze with admiration as they wonder which "Problem no one else can help" with you are solving!

Actually strangely enough i went to a BMW dealers yesterday and had a bad experience, one salesman who seemed like he wasn't interested in talking to me giving me short sharp answers and doing nothing to sell the product to me, while the receptionist sat there swigging her can of coke and reading her magazine. Totally put me off BMW im sorry to say. -
I do travel but not that often with work really, i'm discounting all diesels as im moving house shortly from a rural area to a built up area where i wont be doing anywhere near as much motorway driving so i can't be doing with nursing a DPF. Depreciation isn't really an issue for me as i won't be buying the car personally and when i look at the costings on the prices it shows that the "Premium" brands have a similar payment to the other brands i suppose possibly due to greater residuals? Yesterday i popped into local Merc and BMW dealerships to have a look at the cars, totally fell in love with the C class found it to be really comfortable and very modern inside. Sat in the 3 series and yes it was nice enough but it didn't have the wow factor for me while i appreciate it may be a BMW thing i didn't feel the interior had moved on much since the last time i looked at a 3 series in 1998. Just my opinion of course, also the BMW dealer treated me like something that he'd scraped of the bottom of his shoe which also put a sour taste in my mouth. So at present im pretty much set on a C class but i can arrange a few weekend long test drives with a few cars so i'll arrange a dirty weekend with a C class and a 3 series and make my mind up.

Only suggestion i'd have is before you make any changes, double save any scan logs and make sure you can open them before you make a change and when using the long coding helper i'd suggest taking a screenshot of it again saving it and making sure you can open it or write it down and double check it before you make any changes. Remember save, save and save again before making any changes and if you REALLY aren't sure don't make the change, log onto Rosstech's wiki or ask on here.

Really did strike me as the residents were on the whole jealous racists, the guys who came over in the cars seemed to be very polite and respectful lads who didn't argue the toss over things. Also not really sure what grounds that policeman stopped the guy in the Black Lambo on, surely he was driving a foreign registered car on UK roads with foreign insurance that covered him? How is that any different from someone on France on holiday popping over and doing the same? The policeman claiming that he didn't have the ability to contact the oversees insurer surely is the fault of the police rather than the drivers.

how about 4 of these, im running a pair on the front of my Octy and they are fab

Thats the thing i can basically have any car from Audi, BMW, Citroen, Ford, Honda, Mercedes, Renault, Seat, Skoda, Smart, Toyota, Vauxhall and VW. It appears anything with a 3.0L engine has a much higher payment even if the list price for the vehicle is less which im assuming due to depreciation and resale values for the company at the end of the lease. Opening it up to you guys (fresh ideas and all that) i'd be very interested to hear what you'd get from those marques for about £42k ish tops. Only caveat is it really can't be above 200g/co2

Well the time is coming up for me to hand back my Octy (looking at swapping to a Fabia MK2 Vrs for SWMBO) Since i've had a promotion at work with the various enhancements, been looking at our company car scheme thinking im going to go for that as the only cost i'll have with the vehicle apart from any tax will be the personal fuel i put into it. Due to the timings im not really going to be able to wait to get an MK3 Octavia VRS and i have to be honest at present the Mk3 isn't doing much for me, plus based on the current lease costs to our firm for the current Octavia VRS the cost of leasing something like a Merc, BMW or Audi isn't far off anyhow. Initially i did fancy an Audi S4 however, the monthly lease cost on it has become very high indeed plus thinking to myself as long as the car has a reasonable performance i'd rather have Toys. At present i think im fancying the following C250 What do you guys think?
