Octavia 3 vRS or Golf R?
Khurram77 replied to Khurram77's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Thanks. You were in the same position as me then. I am very tempted but just love the looks of a Mk3 estate! Now to convince the Mrs - "£30k just for a Golf" when I showed her one on autotrader... Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk -
Octavia 3 vRS or Golf R?
Khurram77 replied to Khurram77's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Thanks for that. I had a 2007 Leon Cupra and was impressed with it but to be honest the interior was so cheap. I will have to test drive them both and see which one I go for. Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk -

Octavia 3 vRS or Golf R?
Khurram77 replied to Khurram77's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Apologies for some reason I have managed to create two threads! Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk -
My Octavia is nearing 3 years old and it has been fantastic especially since the stage one Revo map. Pound for pound easily the best car I have owned (and that includes an E46 M3). I would love a Mk3 (petrol) but nearly new ones with the spec I want are going for £25k plus. As a minimum DSG, Columbus, Black design pack and the Extreme alloys. I would say leather but the fake leather on my current one is one of my worst points about the car. Am I better to just spend another 5k and get myself a Golf R? Or wait a year until both models depreciate further. (or wait two years and get something in the next price bracket - S4, RS4, V60 Polestar, M3/4) Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk

Cracking motor. Mine is a hatchback. Was thinking of changing cars myself but got it remapped last month and it really is a monster now. I like the look of the new badges. Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk

I completely forgot about the handbrake being on the wrong side. I didn't realise that the bonnet release was also wrong side. Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk -
I can't recommend these guys enough. Had my 2012 Octavia vRS remapped (stage 1) and the service was impeccable. They even saw to a few minor issues whilst it was in without me asking! They service all VAG group cars offering big savings compared to main dealer prices. Big shout to Darryl. Knows his cars inside out and all round great guy. www.quattro-tech.co.uk Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk

You can't worry about the mpg when you have that kind of power on tap. Bet you're going through the rubber Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk -

Telboy. Your car sounds awesome. Has your economy dipped? Mine dropped by 5mpg since the remap. Stuy enjoy the new car. Congratulations. -

Regarding the interior. I thought it was a slight improvement from the Mk2 (not Audi level obviously). The thing I didn't like was the new accelerator pedal. Much prefer the large hinged one from the Mk2. -

Hi stuy1. My current was an ex demo and was only six months old when I got her. A week into the stage one Revo map and am enjoying her even more. I'm looking for a petrol again. -

I too love my Mk2. Recently got it mapped and am loving it even more. My next shall be a Mk3 estate. Must haves for me would be black pack, DSG, Columbus, extreme 19" alloys, Canton in either white, grey or blue. Haven't found one with that spec yet though.. -
Spudey's Octavia III vRS Thread
Khurram77 replied to Spudey's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Such a good looking car. They look awesome with the DRLs on in day time. How are you finding the DSG mated to a diesel engine? -
Thank you. The only advantage to this place is that it is 5 miles up the road from me but I can't really justify paying over the odds for it!
-
I have found a local place (Quattro tech in St Ives, Cambridgeshire) that offers Stage 1 Revo remaps for my FL Octavia. Price seems very steep to me (£718.80 incl VAT!) Am I better off making the trip to Mansfield and getting a Shark remap done instead.

New Octavia Estate vRS 2.0 TDI DSG Ordered!

Sounds a cracking spec. Good luck. -
Post your Mk3 Octavia photos!

Lovely cars all of them. Can't wait until I upgrade mine (won't be for at least another year sadly :( Just a question. I have noticed the accelerator pedal doesn't appear to be as nice as the Mk2's meaty number. Any comments from the panel on how it feels? I love the feel of the Mk2 one.
