  1. I had to remove the headlight and washer bottle to get enough room to get at the MAP
  2. Got an N75 for mine (from dealer) a few months ago cost arounf £40. Make sure the part number is correct. IIRC there have been some chnages and part number may end in different letter i.e F instead of A. BTW car is ALH 90HP. Could also be a MAP problem. See http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/168119-map-and-n75/page__p__2046136__fromsearch__1entry2046136
  3. Yes I have an Ambiente and it's got rear drums
  4. It would help if you could tell us which model you drive
  5. If you are talking about a Mark 1 2008 then it would most probably have a PD engine. Think they started putting them in after 2005. Maybe others on this forum could clarify. Also understand that they are still made for the taxi market, obviously with PD engines in. Personally, I think the Non PD is a more easier car to work on and has less to go wrong. Don't forge that PD's use the 'unit' injecctor which are much more expenside than the regular injextor used in non PD's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_Injector http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skoda_Octavia
  6. Make sure you use the correct grade of fluid. As I understand it there are a couple of different types depending on boiling point. Best to check the colour, usually red or green.
  7. Trouble is with this one I've heard of car getting 'addicted' to it.
  8. If you have a spare battery or jump starter try starting with it. If it's starts like a good one then there's your problem. Mine's been a bit sluggish recently as probably a lot have due to the cold weather.
  9. Glad you got it sorted. Could have also used a jump starter and connect to the car fag lighter to fag lighter thus keeping the flow of voltage.
  10. How do you know if these need replacing? Is it through the handling characteristics signalling failure of the old bush? Or something else?
  11. Maybe Greg123 (?) does this kind of thing. He's based in Notts. http://www.small-engine.co.uk/
  12. Can't access the link It's telling me it's private.
  13. Great news. Glad you got it sorted.
  14. How are you getting on with this? Any joy?
  15. Most likely a problem with the tracking. Classic symptoms are wear on the edges. http://www.familycar.com/carcare/alignmentbalance.htm
  16. Got a link for those as I've searched and can't find them. Thanks
  17. Thanks for the replies. I was also thinking about ease of fitment (especially the front one) when considering coilovers. Also was considering cost as it seems you can get a set of coilovers for roughly half the price of separate shocks and springs.
  18. Hi, As title says really. Think one or both rear shocks are gone and maybe gonna replace them. Shocks alone are £40 each and could get these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Jamex-Coilovers-Kit-for-Skoda-Octavia-1Z-1-9-TDi-1-9TDi_W0QQitemZ320539826805QQcategoryZ40192QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D15%26pmod%3D320528988389%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D4849526417577567836 for £225. Question is, I really want the hieght and ride to be similar to OEM. Am I on the right lines with these? Any suggestions on which to choose? Cheers
  19. I have the same problem on a Polo. It's due to the sunroof drain channels being blocked. There should be 2 holes either side of the sunroof which you'll see with it open from the top on the outside which lead down to somewhere near the front wing for the water to drain off. Try and get a coat hanger or similar to try and move whatever is blocking it.
  20. Have you changed/needed to change the injectors? Is it a TDI or SDI as it seesm the SDI's go on far longerr than the TDI's for some reason.
  21. Anychance of putting a video on Youtube so we can hear it? Does it sound like mine? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/178834-any-ideas-on-this-noise/page__p__2151778__fromsearch__1entry2151778
  22. Am I right in thinking only 4X4's have this Haldex system?
  23. Yeah check ur brake lights are working. Loads of threads about this one. Glowplug light flashing indicating brake lights not wroking.
  24. Are you talikng about the belt that drives the power steering pump/aircon/alternator ? I'll try and post a pic tommorow to clarify Thanks Nick
