  1. Haha, that looks fantastic and just the kind of thing I am after. I'll see how much they cost and who sells them. Looks like they might have not been relased yet though.
  2. You will be better off leaving the car in top gear. The ecu knows it needs to add little or no fuel to keep the car running when in gear and revs are above idle. If you stick it in neutral the engine will actually use more fuel.
  3. I'm with you mate, I've managed 52.4 on a run before. I was in traffic at 45-50mph and I was in top feathering like nothing else. One thing I have noticed though the car is returning around 46mpg with a varied drive. As soon as I hit the motorway its more like 42-43mpg. The 50mph limited section of the M1 from Junc 25-28 returns 49-50 in the Octavia, the car is remapped. On the same section of road my Old Ibiza FR (also remapped) returned between 69 and 75mpg. Yet on varied driving it returned 50 or just over. So what I am trying to say is the PD170 appears to be pretty good on fuel with sensible driving, but it doesn't reward you particually highly if you drive it like an anal eco warrior, unlike my old Ibiza. For that reason I just drive it briskly, but sympathetically to my wallet and return 46- 47mpg. I play hockey at the weekends though and the car gets 4 men and luggage and a blast down a motorway to a game in convoy. This has meant my average fuel consumption over the last 3k has been reduced to 44.2mpg. I have thought about the DPF removal for peformance and economy improvement, but its a bit of an unknown.
  4. I'm happy with my remap and the car returns better fuel economy.
  5. I've been thinking the same thing. I wouldn't want to amp the speakers. I am more for filtering the bass out and fitting a small sub somewhere. I would like to use one of the rear storage spaces and a 10" sub, or even a small box/tube under a seat? Then just fit a bass/level adjuster in the car for the sub. I find the standard system is over bright, the bass is ok but flaps with any sort of volume. The midrange is a bit thing as well though. I wouldn't say the sound quality is great, it can be engaging on a few tracks, but on the hole its fairly harsh tbh. Any recommendations on a sub that would work in a small enclosure?
  6. Are you refering to the genuine skoda powered car cooling box, 6-litre and 18-litre capacity? I quite fancy one.
  7. The leather isn't worn, its fairly creased though. The stitching is fraid in some areas and the bolster is starting to go fairly flat on the door side. I'm sure Skoda will call it general wear and tear. I just don't like to see the leather looking shining and creased when the passenger side is firm with a matt finish.
  8. Where is CCS mate? Tek Seating in my home town of Melton Mowbray get a good rep for repairs. I'm not sure how cheap they are though? If you find out let me know. My VRS has only done 25k and the seat looks well weathered. I am guessing I will need to get it sorted around 50 or 60k.
  9. I was wondering the same thing. So there is a DVD to fit the slot that will work with the RNS510 jobby? Not sure what a CD Nav Drive is though?
  10. Excellent Info Mike. I've sent a refund request to the ebay seller so I am hoping to hear back from them today. If they are quick to refund i'll be purchasing the same set as you. They will look great with the xenons I am sure.
  11. Thanks again for all your help yesterday Eric. I have yet to drive the car at night, but I will let you know. I am a bit wary of fitting blue coloured bulbs, ice white is the affect I am after. I'll wait to see what happens with the return of the other ones. If the company give a refund i'll go for the tried and tested. If they offer to replace them with the with the other vairent they sell then I may have to go down that route.
  12. Hi Mike Thanks for the info. It wasn't myself that fitted them, it was another memeber on here. I did watch though and neither side worked. I would be surprised if they were both stuck in the wrong way. We checked the LED's and they had no markings on them, they were completely symetrical. They work wired direct off the battery though. The VAGCOM software threw up a fault with them, so they must have been taking the wrong amount of power? I might see if the company I bought them off with swap them for these. The ones I tried did look very blue though? Thanks Mike!
  13. Well Mike it looks like you were more fortunate than me. These LED sidelights that I got from Ebay don't work. I'll be getting the ones your ordered instead now. Cheers
  14. The CR must drive like a petrol?! I've drive VAG diesels now for nearly 6 years and the PD170 engine took me by surprise. It revs far more than any other VAG diesel engine I have driven. In fact I miss the 2k wallop that the 130 and 150 PD engines offer. I might test drive a CR. I've got my VRS booked in next week for warranty work so hopefully I can blag one.
