  1. Well as usual I had zero luck with my claims yesterday. Farmers of Nottingham refused to warrent any of my claims...
  2. Its a flipping ballache. It doesn't look like theres a fix to me either!
  3. I will do! Work will be alot quieter the week after next so i'll get it across to the dealer then You are not alone with your running issues by the way. Maybe worth joining SCN and sharing your findings? DPF Delete Leon FR TDI
  4. LOL, I feel a little guilty letting you spend your hard earned to solve our joint problem! I'll try and get across to a main dealer next week with my car.
  5. Thanks for the replies guys. I am going with this option as well. I know the brakes and the oil was done, just before 24k. I may have to leave it bleeping at me for another 3k then get the oil done and the servicing changed to variable. Its going to be a bit of a ball ache though. lol
  6. I bought the car with 23666 miles on the clock. As part of the sale the garage performed a good service. Including all the filters and even brakes. When I went to buy the car the service light wasn't on. Now I bought the Octy from a large independent, not an Skoda dealer or specialist. Last week at just over 30k my service light came on. At first I didn't think much until I counted back the miles since the last service. I am guessing they didn't reset the ECU when they serviced the vehicle. At least I hope thats the case, I would expect this engine to go further than that between oil changes? I do around 400 - 600 miles a week consisting of motorway and country lanes. The car definitely gets a mixed bag of driving. On the whole I drive for economy though averaging around 44 - 46mpg. What are peoples thoughts? Much appriciated.
  7. You sound about as optimistic as me! Let me know if you get a result or not. I've still not found the time to get to a main dealer yet.
  8. Cheers for the replies guys! This thread is really helpful. I'm definitely going to approach the dealer about my gear knob, speaker, mirror and running issues!
  9. Ok, so that would suggest the N75 (Whatever it is) could be faulty.
  10. DMF? On that note, one of my rear speakers farts!
  11. New tyres!? Have a word lol. Can I ask what happend to the turbo and how they diagnosed it?
  12. Thanks mate, I'm going too! The only lights to appear, and go off again, are the plug light and what I am assuming is the DPF light?
  13. I've got a few bits on my motor that I want the main dealer to address under warrenty. I am very interested to hear what items you guys have managed to get replaced or fixed under warrenty. I am also interested to hear what bits you have had refused. I have the following issues: 1) Drivers wing mirror base plate cracked from folding in mirror 2) Gear knob silver has worn off 3) Alloy wheel centre caps pitted. Please update the list with any items you may have tried. Also what do you think my chances are? Cheers George
  14. Yes quite right! I'll take the car do another dealer and see what they have to say. The car actually lost power completely yesterday. It felt like it had gone into limp mode? Gotta love this...
  15. Sounds good, but you'll want Xenons on there too.
  16. Hi! Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I can't see the graph at work as the image hosting site is blocked. It sounds like you've tried a fair amount of stuff! I'll be going back to the stealer and asking them to look at it again! I'm worried about the turbo tbh. I've had a lot of back look with VAG Tdi units in the past. As I see it if the problem is reported whilst the car is in warranty, even if they can't diagnose it before the warrenty expires the fault is still covered. Is that correct? On a sperate not my adaptive service light came on after 7k? Now either the system wasn't reset properly or I need to switch to standard service intervals! What should I expect mileage wise between services?
  17. Since taking ownership of my VRS I have been very pleased. However, I have be surprised with the variations in performance. On occasions the car can feel very flat and somewhat under powered. On the flip side the engine can feel very strong and pull very well. I have had the engine remapped by P-Torque. More recently the car has began to judder under acceleration. In the higher gears it feels like the I am coming on and off the pedal. This doesn't happen all the time mind. Today I was cruising on the motorway around 85 with no apparent problems. It wasn't that I noticed anything until the traffic slowed to 55mph and then cleared that I wanted to resume my cruising speed. When I put my foot down the turbo feels like it spools and as it starts to pull all most instantly there is a sensation of throttling back. Its like the turbo almost cuts out. A bit later on the glow plug light came on, and the other week the DPF light came on for a very short while. My local dealer has checked the ECU and the VAGCOM "apparently" hasn't show any errors, except for a single overboost. I am a bit lost with this one. Is it down to the remap? Is it the DPF? Was the plug light a red herring? Maybe the acuator or the veins in the turbo are sticking? Or maybe I am nowhere near with any of my hunches? If anyone could shed any light or suggest anything I might wish to try I would be very grateful. I have till January to before my Manufacturer Warranty expires, obviously I want to resolve it before then. Or at worst I want the car to blow up before then! lol Cheers in advance. George
  18. I'm glad you posted this as I wouldn't have been able to explain it as well. Mine show a very slight blue tinge, but the light they produce is amazing. In fact I doubt there is much to be gained from 50watt bulbs. The actuall amount of Lumens output isn't going to be that much more. I'm not sure it will be noticable to the eye? I bought this kit 4300k and its perfect colour! I'm glad they didn't go for 5400, or 6000k.
  19. I've had a PD Tdi before without a filter and the smell was something I never noticed.
  20. Seriously, get a price for a pipe off this guy! If he can do them at sensible money I'd be very interested. I'm having shed loads of problems with my remapped Vrs and I am putting it down to the DPF. Well, either that or the turbo is on its way. Which if it is, it needs to give up before the new year. lol
  21. Yep thats a good shout! I used to love my incar when I still lived at home. I had lots of top end kit in my cars, but I am no longer in need of bursting my ear drums at 150db, just a good overall sound would be good.
  22. I'm not paying that money for sidelight bulbs! I'll wait for HIDS4U to restock, or try an ebay job. Thanks for the link though. I had no idea they even existed!
  23. Yea, I'm not sure about those either? There are plenty of LED one's out there that have the bulbs side mounted to utilise the reflector. I'm sure I have the philips ones from powerbulbs in the past and they were just the same as standard yellow ones? I might take a punt on another set of CANBUS friendly LED ones off Ebay? Not sure I want to replace them after a month though!... Another question for you. For high beam can you use higher rated wattages or will they throw up errors on the ECU? If they do I might have to opt for the expensive standard wattage units from powerbulbs?..
  24. Well I'm sorry to hear of your troubles Mike! I have to say I have been emailing that company on a weekly basis regarding those bulbs and they keep telling me they are out of stock. Just as well I guess. Has anyone got a answer to the yellow side light issue then? Obviously an LED setup designed well must work because they are plenty of new VAG motors as daylight running lights. HIDS4U are out of stock at the minute as well. Bummer.
