  1. Hi, The left spot light turns on when I turn left and turns off when I go straight, and vice versa, it only works at low speed though, well at least I didn't notice it working when driving more quickly. I haven't tried the local dealer, but I thought the VAG com couldn't sort this out. If you look at the brochure, the cornering fog is a rather pricey option on the SE (not available on the S) and I doubt the dealer would switch this on. aham_uk is very close to me and it make sense to go to him rather than the dealer and he is advertised on ebay.
  2. Hi there, I have tried both, headlight on and headlight off, but both times it would work with 1 flash of high beam, but that only works once, and the next time I get back into the car and switch it off, I have to flash the high beam again to get it working? Is this how it supposed to be. What we have done is Byte 17 Bit 6 Ticked - Leaving Home Light, Byte 12 Bit 2 Ticked - Coming Home light through manual. Thanks
  3. I would say the interior is more similar to the Golf or Octavia than the Tiguan. Not sure about ride etc. The Tiguan is slightly heavier and if you opting for a diesel, they ride better than the Petrol due to the heavier engine.
  4. Yup confirm to be non HID, just cornering fog not cornering headlight.
  5. I guess everyone has their own preferece. I bought my 1.2 TSI because I mainly do short journeys, with a small number of long journeys and the servicing and DPF issues means a Petrol is better for me. I drove the 1.6 TDI in a Golf and was thoroughly impressed by the mid range performance, very good indeed and the 1.2 TSI cannot match that kind of mid range power, however I do miss having a 6th gear. What else, in my short journeys, the MPG is vitrually the same. Its really down to how you use the car, if you do lots and lots of motorway mileage then a diesel would make complete sense, but short journeys or low mileage owners then petrol may make more sense.
  6. I too have the problem, wax residue though. What I have read on other sites is that if you go over the marks with a tooth brush and washing up liquid, it should clear it well, and it did it pretty well, so might worth a try! Otherwise, get some interior wipes and wipe those plastic and it also do a good job, I have tried Back to Black, not too effective!
  7. Hi, I have just got staging working on my car and tried to get Coming Home and Leaving Home light to work, however it didn't? It has been enabled on VCDS, my car is not equipped with light sensor or auto light (being a S model). What I have been able to do is before leaving my car and taken off the ignition, I push the high beam for a second or 2 and when I open the door the main beam would light up, and turn off after some time. However, I needed to do this every time for the light to come on. Is there any setting I should change of VCDS for LHL and CHL to work without pushing for high beam every time I want the light to stay on. It also would not work what so ever when I return to the car, and unlock it, the light would not come on. I would really appreciate any help from owners who had been successful in doing this! Thanks!
  8. Again had work done at Pulman, can't fault them, price was right (1/2 off labour for Skoda). I had my wheel arches fitted by them, they held the car until the glue was totally dry, which is good, so not in a hurry to get me out the door. Merticulous service as well, I notice some faint scratches after the work is done, they promptly organise a machine polish on the marks and also did other scratches that were dotted around the car as a compenastion, really can't fault them. They always provide courtesy car with insurance cover. Service department is excellent, good service and great update. Oh, unlike other dealers I have phoned, they would give me my radio code for free!!
  9. I am lucky enough to have 2 dealers close by, one literally up the road and the other in Darlington. So naturally, I had a choice to see whom I want to have work done. I am particularly impressed by Pulman. So do you have any other dealers near by?
  10. Hi, The long talk about Staging (Needle Sweeping), I have finally got it sorted with a guy near me. He also did a number of other things ie cornering fog (interesting feature, didn't notice much difference, possibly not dark enough) , auto door locking and unlocking and something on the Bolero, which was showing fault code as it wasn't coded before it was fitted to the car. We tried Coming Home and Leaving Home light for quite a while, we still couldn't get it sorted. I am wondering what I can do? Being a S model owner, I do not have the luxury of auto light or light sensor (there isn't "via personalisation" on the VCDS). What I have found is if I turn off the ignition, take the key out, push for high beam for 2 seconds and open the door, the light would stay on. But I also found I have to do this everytime I want to do that, and when I unlock the car, the light would not come on. I am wondering what we have been doing wrong? Would really appreciate replies! Thanks!
  11. For some reason, despite the small 1.2 engine, I wanted this more than the 1.6 in the Qashqai? No idea why!, probably the turbo!
  12. Try James @ Allam, helpful guy and good p/x as well. Haven't been an actual customers, but p/x he quoted for my S to upgrade to SE was very reasonable.
  13. Saw one sitting in my Yeti fiddling with the Bolero the other day. The driver did a slow drive by in their Black Elegance and smiled, I waved.

    Yeti Coupé

It would be brill if fitted with TSI 180, £16k. Bargain!
  15. Interesting that, I went into a BMW showroom and they just ignored me.... propbably because of my boots. I quite like the Mini "layback" style, you go in, have a look, then leave, come to think of it probably they have got enough sales and don't need any more, they declined to give me a price-list, "they are still being printed, the price for the car would have VAT adjusted to it" - that was in November!!
  16. I see your point, the main reason why I fitted them is because of the unsightly ding on both sides of the front wheel arches, and I can actually imagine getting a few more in the years to come. Since I park regularly in a multistory car park and Sainsburys, I thought I might add some extra "protection" on the wheel arches, the same way side protections work. Hopefully that would protect the Yeti from any further abuse by other people's doors or WHY.
  17. Right, I knew I can find this post! I came across some detailed undercarriage photoes of Chinese built Tiguan and Golf MK6. I am not sure what I am looking at, but it should be of interest to the more mechanically minded members. 18. Thanks, the glue crumbs are residues that were left on the panel of my car, they could be removed fairly easily. Howeve, there were a few scratches, presumably from the mechanic removing the glue, but its going back next Friday to have the bodyshop people remove the scratches.
  19. Thanks, 16" wheels, but I realise the second photo actually make it looks quite a bit smaller, but in the flesh, it looks normal. I think they are not compatible park assist where you have sensons on the front wheel arches, they are not compatible with front mudflaps either as they protrudes that area.
  20. I don't actually know how much it would cost to put my 2 dings right, but I wouldn't imagine it to be cheap and it is likely to come back again. My idea is that I might as well have it down whilst the car is new-ish as in 2-3 years time when depreciation hits hard, it would not make economic sense to do this.
  21. Hi there, thanks for the comment. I have always wanted to fit them ever since I saw 90000's post on the Paris motorshow, but they only recently became available (in storage) in the UK. They actually looks better in the flesh, I will try to take some better photoes, but for some reason my camera made them look much darker. I had them fitted at Pulman Skoda in Durham - they did a very decent job, and very well priced, I have been using them for warranty work. I would highly recommend them. The reason why I ditted them was exactly the same reason - dents and dings. I had a ding and dents both sides of my front wheel arches, they are not massive but it is definitely unsightly. I think they are vulnerable areas, given their large surface area. Hopefully these wheel arches will protect the Yeti from being further abuse and hit by neibouring cars! Edit: It doesn't seem Skoda has imported many of these kits, when I booked mine in on Tuesday, they only had 4 kits in stock??!!!
  22. Wheel arches photoes attached! http://www.flickr.com/photos/59141682@N08/?saved=1
  23. Wheel Aches Pics Attached! The plastic protects the whole wheel arch area, it wraps the bottom of the panel as well. Seems to be good quality. It does look like quite a fiddly job to do though as glue "crumbs" are on the panels. http://www.flickr.com/photos/59141682@N08/?saved=1
  24. Skoda Yeti Maxi - looks a little like the Austin Maxi: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://slatford.co.uk/Pictures%2520of%2520Cars/Austin/Austin-Maxi.jpg&imgrefurl=http://slatford.co.uk/Car%2520Pictures%2520Pages/Austin.htm&usg=__HZjXLziSXYm9DOdqvFYDXEYBSNw=&h=443&w=800&sz=67&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=n8Eh0LpSkDiVeM:&tbnh=94&tbnw=170&ei=ivlLTZTUEo6AhQeb-ZSyDg&prev=/images%3Fq%3DAustin%2BMaxi%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-GB:official%26channel%3Ds%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D619%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=292&vpy=136&dur=565&hovh=94&hovw=170&tx=171&ty=79&oei=ivlLTZTUEo6AhQeb-ZSyDg&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0 I think I prefer the chubby look as Nolhott says....
  25. That is very good! Just wondering what do you use to keep the red from oxidating. A friend of mine had one since new, and his red paintwork just go all milky.
