  1. Well after a wait of 8 months, 2 weeks and 1 day she looks like she will be here tonight or tomorrow. Nope, I'm not talking about a new vRS, I am talking about my baby daughter. Due to complications, mum is being induced early. Mum and baby are fine at the moment but being monitored closely under a consultant instead of a midwife. So I have baby seat in the vRS ready, just need baby Emily to fill it. Will pop some photos up when she's settled into the car and taken in the interior and tech specs from daddy.
  2. Sold - see private message.
  3. Brand new - bought 2 of them for the Wife's Monte Carlo - but she doesn't even use the one she has. I know this is listed under For Sale - but make an offer on this (incl P+P) and I'll request that amount be paid directly to a charity - Can't say fairer than that can I? If you need to know what this looks like. http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/skoda/oem-5n0035558-mdi-media-in-usb/ It looks like that, but it's still in a plastic bag, so difficult to photograph.
  4. Got them delivered. They been sat in the boot until tomorrow when I pop round the local garage to get them fitted.
  5. 1 year 5 months old and it's not done 10k yet. I wonder if the penalty charges per mile work in reverse?
  6. I noticed the front tyres on the Octavia 3 vRS were running low on tread - so started looking around. I was recommended some Hankook K120 V12 Evo2's from Black Circle - Better grip, less noise and better fuel economy than the Continental Sports Contact 2's currently on there. So I did some online shopping and found this place. http://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyres/hankook/k120-v12evo2/225-40-zr18-92y-268647 OK -they are not fitted, but a saving of £30 per tyre on delivery - I can then pop round to any garage and have them fit them for less than £60. I did some more googling - and some other sites state that the ratings are different form the one on Tyre Leader - So I thought I'd give them a ring -but they are in Germany. Now - I they state Free delivery 48hr / 72hr - From Germany?? The usual common sense kicks in "if it's too good to be true, it usually is". Has anyone used www.tryeleader.co.uk in the past - are they reputable? DNS registration for this site is someone in Paris - Yet more alarm bells... opinions?
  7. After some extensive diagnostics - it looks like a faulty PIR. I removed all wireless sensors and re-attached them one by one - I have 1 PIR remaining and so far nothing wrong.. So - Will fit the last one and see if the issue occurs.
  8. Can't change frequencies (as far as I know). Certainly no jumper settings in the wireless sensors to do this. I did a factory reset using the control panel. That didn't work. I tried deleting and reinstalling the sensors. Last thing I am trying now is to remove the batteries from the sensors and leave it for a day.
  9. I'm looking for some advice on this issue. My mother has a Visonic Powermax Plus alarm system but recently it has started reporting a "System Jammed" message on the LCD display and won't arm. After doing some Googling, I've tried all the usual and obvious solutions:- 1. Remove Wireless devices, reinstall them. 2. Remove wireless devices, clean, change batteries, reinstall them. 4. Turn off mains electricity to remove any external RF interference. 5. Factory Reset. When I enter Installation Mode and then exit - the "Trouble" LED is extinguished for a short time - but then reverts back to being on with the "System Jammed" message. At present, I have uninstalled all of the wireless devices (Keyfobs, Door contacts, PIR's, etc) so the alarm panel is not communicating with anything, but the system is still reporting "System Jammed". I've not introduced anything into the house recently (Wifi, baby monitors, etc) - so I can only assume that the RF interference must be external. Is there anything else I can do to find the source of interference / remove it. I'm at a loss at present.
  10. We all have them, 2 gifts you received this Christmas where you said "Thanks - just what I wanted." The only difference between the 2 is you actually meant it with one of them. I'll kick off with mine. Best: Wolfenstein -The New Order on XBox One - absolute murdering shootfest.. I can't think of a better way to relax Wost: Lynx Boxset - I think it's called "You stink and this is a subtle hint". Thanks - A lot of effort went into this one. Although I must say my mother in law got me one of these. It's a ball pen, with a ruler, a mobile phone holder, touch screen stylus and twin headed screwdriver in one. Novel I know - Used so many times to open the battery compartments on my sons toys this Xmas.
  11. Mu GU10's used to blow all the time, when switching on the light - Had 2 different electricians check them out and both stated it was a common fault with those bulbs - Generally the cheap imports blow quicker. The last electrician gave me a tip and told me to change to some expensive LED GU10's as opposed to the Halogen, I bought 8 (the unit takes 4) over a year ago and I still have 4 unopened in the cupboard. I was previously buying one or 2 every month, these have more than paid for themselves now. Back onto the issue of removing a broken bulb - my dad once told me how to do this for normal bulbs - use a potato..Again - make sure the electricity is off for safety. Find a suitable sized potato which is just larger than the bulb fitting - and push it in there and use the potato to twist out the bayonette.
  12. I kind of put up with them in my browser using their email service - but intruding on my phone when using their email.. OK - it's their email so they can do what they want, but I would prefer not to be targeted so intrusively. I am currently migrating from Gmail, Android, etc and moving over to Microsoft. We'll see how it goes. The only thing I am apprehensive about i changing the OS on my phone - as I have lots of applications I've paid for and use. On the flip side - I write software using Visual Studio - so it might give me an incentive to write my own replacements
  13. Sorry - been away.. I'm using the Gmail app on Android - it always shows an ad as the first conversation under the Promotions - but I have seen them under other tabs (never Primary though).. It's annoying enough to have them on search pages. I have to +1 all the MS votes on here - so much so, I set up alternative email addresses in Outlook.com for the wife and myself and am transferring everything over. I am even thinking about buying a subscription to OneDrive and transferring everything from Google to that.
  14. Got a letter from VWFS today stating that they are legally bound to send me regular statements under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. As they had not sent me a statement on time, they could not charge me interest for the period from said statement date until now. A refund to my account will be forthcoming. MERRY XMAS.... This one might have slipped my mind when chatting to SWMBO - I think I was busy making a mental shopping list for myself now I have some extra cash to spend.. On a serious note - I did not know this was part of the Consumer Credit Act.. Lesson learned - if they are ever late sending out statements, demand a refund for the interest. It's within your rights.. I wonder how many company's offer Credit that try and get away with this and when challenged just pay up? EDIT... Thinking this was SWMBO's Monte that it was relating too (which I pay anyway), I matched up the reference numbers.. They didn't match, so I checked the Octy 2 I used to own - It's from this agreement, which is now 12 months + finished. Another lesson - it's never too late to claim it back DOUBLE MERRY XMAS...
  15. This is in my email app on my android phone.. Not in a browser..
  16. OK.. I was fine with the odd ad, I could opt out of - but now it's getting ridiculous. I now have ads in my Android email - is this pi**ing anyone else off? It has now driven me to the point where I have created an outlook.com account and am willing to delete my gmail account.

  20. Some bloody idiot bolted onto the roundabout right in front of me. He was doing well over the 30 MPH for the area. Had to add some YouTube music to it as the air was blue with my language
  21. He means taking it to the car wash. You trust your ride and joy with those butchers
  22. Just leave your out if date tax disc in there. Really p155 off the traffic wardens.
