  1. I'll be joining the white vRS club in september, though i'll be sad to leave the red vRS club! Can't wait
  2. The water in the boot thing annoys me! I have a boot full of school stuff as my current job means I teach across all of the secondary schools in our region, the kids folders often get wet. Apart from that very happy - so much so i've ordered a new one!
  3. Mine was ordered last Wednesday and is promised to be ready for 1 September.
  4. When I bought my current car in March 09 the dealer said they couldn't fit rear mudflaps, but gave me a set to try myself. Following the heat method I fitted them myself - I am the least technical person ever! They aren't perfect but do the job. The dealer now fits them on request, indeed their showroom vRS has them. They are going to fit them on my new vRS due in September. I think mudflaps finish the car off, keep the bottom cleaner and keep the front of my caravan cleaner too. Ideally to do the job properly they would be longer.
  5. At last i've been spotted! I wasn't that fussed about the face lifted one when I first saw it but it has grown on me a lot .... obviously!
  6. Not till September sadly, should be easy to spot though. The only vRS with Caravan Club grille badges and a 'SKY' registration! I like to be different.
  7. An exclusive club indeed! New cars take your mind of the marking I find! Oh and six weeks today till we break up for summer Bring it on.
  8. Managed to order a new vRS on the way home from school tonight! (NB Teacher not pupil!) Have ordered another TDi, this time in candy white with sunroof, maxi dot, spare wheel, mudflaps and a new fixed towbar (they could have re-used the current towbar but I didn't fancy that). Thanks to no VAT and a good trade in I will be paying £20 a month less than I am just now - not bad for trading in at the 18 month point. Delivery is due for the new reg in September. Well pleased. If its as good as the current one i'll be chuffed!
  9. Am I right in thinking that towbar prep is not suitable for use with a caravan as feeds cannot be provided for the fridge or battery charging? My current car, and a few before were all fitted with towbars by a local company (Buchan's in Edinburgh), arranged by the dealer prior to collection. Looking at ordering a new vRS for September and will go this route again.
  10. I've been using Milenco Aeros for a few years now, on 3 or more different cars. They are a good quality product and the best towing mirror I have ever used. Looking at the eti the other day they looked as if they would fit ... might try 'em on the demo model to be sure.
  11. Dealer mentioned a shorter aerial is available - to be honest I never listen to the radio so would maybe just remove it. Will need to see if the dealer will lend me a Yeti to try in the garage though as it is going to be tight for height.
  12. The Pacific blue is nice - thanks for the picture. Hit on a new issue though - the roof rails on the yeti would only clear my garage door by just over a cm! Would need to take the aerial off! Beginning to think i'd be better going for a facelifted vRS and keeping some money in my pocket! We'll see.
  13. I tow with a vRS CR TDi hatch. It's great! Currently towing just over 1300Kg and performance is great. Stability is not an issue, though my Swift has an Alko stabiliser, Shocks and Alko ATC. I run with a 75Kg noseweight and have had no issues with traction, tho I do put the back tyres up to the max (this is a pain but it seems to help). Economy towing varies from about 24 towing hard against the wind, to 31 on a gentler run. Currently pondering on getting a Yeti, but having been to look again today I can see me getting a facelifted vRS and having a few grand in the bank. I have a fixed Brink towbar with 13 pin electrics (was originally twin sockets but had it changed for the new 'van). The bracket is quite low so the 'van does tow slightly nose down.
  14. See what you mean, a couple of cm lower would make a difference. Maybe with some load in the boot you'' be just about there. The Brink fixed bracket on my vRS is quite low, meaning the 'van tows rather nose down, but stability is perfect. Apart from that how did you find towing your Adria with the Yeti?
  15. Thanks all - will check out the videos. Regarding tow ball height - I did notice the Yeti tested in Practical Caravan the other month seemed to have a high ball, as the 'van they were towing rode nose up. The 'van was exactly the same as mine (dealer special based on a Swift Charisma 230) so that would be a concern - I would presume the test car would have been supplied by Skoda with a Skoda bracket. Something to check.
  16. Thanks for the replies so far - economy side of things looks promising. Will have a look for Pacific blue pics too.
  17. Currently have an Octavia vRS which I am pleased with. Thinking about a Yeti 170 Elegance. Does anyone have one in Pacific Blue they could post a picture of? I currently get 45 - 50mpg solo out of my 170 CR Octavia (mid to high 20's towing 1300Kg) - what do Yeti owners get from the 170? Views on the optional sunroof would be appreciated too! All my previous Skodas have had towing brackets fitted by a local specialist prior to collection from the dealer (West End Skoda in Broxburn btw), any Yeti owners gone down this route or have you all stuck to the Skoda bracket? Would prefer a fixed bracket (have a Brink currently) and need 13 pin electrics with power for fridge, battery charger and ALKO ATC stability system. Thanks in advance!
  18. An excellent dealership. Have had several new Skodas from them over the past 6 years. Stuart and Daniel are easy to deal with and always do their best to get you a suitable deal. Service has been great too - apart from once turning up for a service only to find it hadn't been put in their diary - even this though was swiftly sorted out. Have recommended them to a colleague who is really pleased too.
  19. Hi All A Skoda owner for a number of years, currenltly have an Octavia vRS common rail diesel hatch, which I love. Thinking about changing to a Yeti soon if the numbers stack up. Been to the dealers this afternoon and am sorely tempted! Would be the 170 CR Elegance I would choose.
