As all of our cars are getting older the possibility of the radiator failing increases - they are not a lifetime part. I left mine for 2 weeks whilst on holiday and the coolant level had dropped sufficiently for the light to come on - the radiator had a small drip leak ! Changed it and no issue since

it goes something like this : SWITCH OFF IGNITION PRESS AND HOLD IN TRIP BUTTON SWITCH ON IGNITION WAIT FOR APPROX 10 SECONDS, UNTIL '-------' APPEARS SWITCH OFF IGNITION RELEASE TRIP BUTTON SWITCH ON IGNITION -- NO INSP /OIL DISPLAYED. IF 'INSP' OR 'OIL' IS STILL DISPLAYED, REPEAT

one the light has been reset/cancelled all the parameters within the ecu are set to zero and then the checking/monitering sequence starts - it can take up to a week for the light to come back on dependant on mileage, turns of the key etc - you can buy a diagnostic for approx £35 ( I use Autel - delivered from USA) that will read and delete so at least you are getting the codes yourself -

main dealer - cheap enough and if you ask nicely they will throw in a few extras for free -

This has now been addressed 100's of times - Skoda will quote an excessive amount to do the job ( mine was approx £400 ) then offer you a discount according to their perception of your loyalty to the brand - eg how many skodas owned, how long for, do you use main dealer for service etc - my offer was 20% - Just bit the bullet here and get it done yourself for about £100 - salford vehicle spray shop did mine and it was excellent.

Just changed mine as the core had gone ! Nightmare job - about 4 hours- and the aircon rad pipes had seized so they needed to be cut - now I need a new aircon rad - all put back together until the sun comes out then the aircon will get sorted.

Agreed - due to my "loyal" service and previous purchases with Skoda they offered me 25% off the quote (they provided) to repaint the spoiler - here's the good part - their quote was just over £400 ! I got it done locally for less than £100 and the job was brill. Don't waste time contacting Skoda just source the best price locally.

Had one on , took it off due to speed bumps - gave it to another brisky who fitted it then took it off - it does nothing to improve the handling so imo just serves as an expensive piece of plastic that will eventually be removed -
